    You know what would be interesting is if Solas turned out to be a potential ally instead of just an outright villain. I could easily see him getting in way over his head because the elven gods had literal millennia to gain strength and plot, whereas Solas spent how much time basically in a magical coma? He was so weak that he had to rely on Corypheus to unlock his orb for him, and he has friends (and a potential lover) in the world as it exists currently. I could see him being persuaded to join forces if things get out of hand.

    So speaking of Ghilan'nain... The Chant of Light recalls that the Maker created the world using lyrium, but Chantry canon refers to lyrium as "emerald waters", and these "emerald waters" are said to be the source of all life.
    While Lyrium can sometimes be rather teal, emeralds are usually quite green, not teal. And who do we know that used green lyrium and water to make new life forms?
    And here did Andraste speak with the Maker? In an underground temple surrounded by "emerald water". And where was Ghilan'nain's briney pool located? Deep underground.
    What if humans were created by Ghilan'nain from elves or maybe even dwarves? Maybe a mix of the two?
    Them being experiments would explain why they lack a history from before the Veil, because the creation of the Veil would be when Ghilan'nain was sealed away, and when magic was weakened, potentially freeing all of her experiments out into the world.
    It would also explain why they think a singular Maker used "emerald water" to make all life, since in the underground labs they would've lacked all knowledge of the outside world, only ever seeing Ghilan'nain and her creations, and the brine pool would've been illuminated at all times by the green lyrium.

    • @omega1397
      @omega1397 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      that'd be an incredibly fucked revelation if true. Would explain why Elves and Humans can so easily breed, and their children are human. Should also be mentioned that what would become Tevinter also believed in the Maker, but the Maker abandoned them, so the proto-Tevene turned to worship of the Old Gods who gave them magic (until Andrastianism said it was the other way around)

  • @Doomin-c2m
    @Doomin-c2m 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +38

    I think I know why there's two of them.
    -The old gods are said to be dragons who are slumbering underground.
    -The elven deities we have experience with so far like Mythal, seem to also be linked to dragons and able to appear as dragons. And the elven deities were locked away in the Fade, AKA, they are dreaming.
    -There are seven old gods in total, but 4-5 depensing on player choice of them have been killed in the blights, leaving only two left: Razikale and Lusacan.
    Razikale is female, and she is the dragon god of mystery, and is associated with the constellation Eluvia
    Lusacan is male, and he is the dragon god of night (moon symbolism), and he is associated with the constellation Tenebrium, which is also associated with Falon'Din
    So I think that the two "evil gods" are the two remaining old gods, and at the same time, they are Falon'Din and probably Dirthamen (dirthamen is referred to as male, but is supposedly Falon'Din's twin, and as it happens, the god of _mystery_ ). Dirthamen and Falon'Din are also supposed to be inseparable and love each other dearly, which makes it even more likely that they are in fact the two gods in question.

    • @omega1397
      @omega1397 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only issue is that, did Solas trap them physically in the Fade? If not, then why do the Old Gods have souls? Or is it just something fucky going on. Solas does get a bit ansty over the Grey Wardens killing them.
      There has to be such a connection with them though. I always thought that they were connected to the Forgotten Ones though. But I am leaning to the Evanuris, just not sure whatever the soul they have means. The dragon connections with the Evanuris makes this even more compelling to puzzle over.

    • @davidortiz3094
      @davidortiz3094 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Isn't it confirmed they do not stay dead? They are reborn? Example, Morrigons son has the spirit of a God that was reborn inside him. Jaws of Hakkan shows you kill the Dragon & it is reborn.

    • @FearlessK9Concepts
      @FearlessK9Concepts หลายเดือนก่อน

      @omega1397 That could be because one theory I saw, the old gods are a part of them. They created the old gods so they may have given them a soul and a part of their soul!
      Now to address Morrigan stealing an old god soul. There's a theory that Flemeth has had 4 other children during each blight that did the same as Morrigan (Although this would have to be a retcon if in DAO you or Alistair did not do the ritual) as Flemeth knew exactly how to capture an old god soul and it worked flawlessly. How else could she get it right on the first try without having done it before? Plus she takes the old god soul in DAI. So Flemeth is collecting the souls and that I feel is going to be a key part.
      Mythal and flemeth are after revenge againster the evanuris. What better way to get revenge than hold a part of the evanuris hostage?

    As far as I can recall… The only one of the Evanuris that Solas seemed to actively dislike and talk about was Falon’Din. Putting my tinfoil hat on, I’m just going to throw it out there that the Elvhen god of death and funerals might have been the one who committed the actual murder of Mythal. The others were in on it and helped, but the deathblow was delivered by Falon’Din.
    I think I remember Solas saying that Falon’Din sank into megalomania and barbarity and demanded death and bloodshed on a massive scale from his followers, and Mythal intervened when things went to far. Mythal injured his pride, and gave him a VERY big reason to seek revenge.
    I would be really surprised if we didn’t have to deal with Falon’Din at some point. I just have this feeling that Mythal (unknowingly) kicked off the whole thing when she put Falon’Din back in his place. I think events moved so quickly from this point that they generated their own momentum. The split in the Evanuris, the murder of Mythal, the uprising of the slaves under the Dread Wolf, the plan to banish the Evanuris, the creation of the veil, the death of the world of the Elvhen.
    Of course I’m probably just crazy and unaware of a fact or two that would easily disprove the whole thing.

    So excited! I agree that Elgar’nan is the arrogant voice in the trailer and depicted in the fresco. Even though it’s definitely Elgar’nan, I am unsure about how I feel about that, since as you said, there actually isn’t a lot of lore or attention given to him in DA, and Zeus-like villains have been so done before, if you know what I mean. Now, for the other figure, I assume it’s Ghilan’nain, since she was a big deal in Tevinter Nights. Part of me knew that Solas wasn’t going to be the main villain of Dread Wolf. He’s more of an anti hero/villain as he’s willing to destroy the world in order to restore the elves back to their former glory. He was the one who overthrew the Elven Gods by imprisoning them in the Fade for killing Mythal and enslaving the elven race. Sure the creation of the veil cause the elves to lose their immortality, but at least Solas was trying to imprison the Elven Gods and hope that they’ll never do any harm again. And besides, we’ve only see two elven gods, Fen’Harel and Mythal. I bet that this game will let us see what the other Elven Gods are like and what their character traits are.

Made think me that there was some rivalry between the two. Also, Elgar'nan was ruler before and now Falon'Din wants to be ruler now. Maybe he has spies in Solas supporters? I believe Ghilan'nain will be the second because during Horror of Hormak, it is mention that the halla seemed to be more insectoid and that one figure seems to have mandibles on the side of their head as well as that picture of the heroes fighting that sea beast

    I am thinking since notably 2 specific Gods of the Elven Pantheon were mentioned in What Pride Had Wrought it could absolutely be those, especially since one looks distinctly female while the other has a more "traditional" male figure. Along with that voice in the trailer.
    I am of course talking about Andruil and Falon'Din, the two elven gods whom Solas if you bring on the mission very much critique in their actions. Especially for Falon'Din since Solas mentions he would do anything for adoration. That could absolutely connect him to that very voice from the recent trailer since he mentions a reign in comfort. This is pure speculation of course but just the fact that there are only those two that have specific banter in Inquisition has to count for something I feel.

Now, for me, the question is 'Where did the Blight come from?' was it a) an unintended effect of the Veil's creation b) a creation of the Gods pre-Veil (hence Solas' motive for the Veil), or c) a creation of the Gods post-Veil (as a means to exert power in Thedas perhaps)?

    I think this was obvious from the beginning that Solas would not be the final boss. His plan will fail, and only parts of the veil will come down, but this will also release the evanuris. They will be the main enemies, and it will be up to us to defeat them. We will possibly be able to ally with Solas, the old gods, the titans, or possibly even Meredith depending on player choices.
    My theory is that Solas will be caught off guard by the evanuris. He will suspect they all entered uthenera like he did to pass the time. He will even be right about some of them, but I think Elgar'nan will have stayed awake for thousands of years rampaging inside his prison, possibly torturing anyone sealed in with him. Falon'Din likewise will have stayed awake the whole time, sitting in silence and focusing every second on his revenge once the veil finally falls. Meanwhile, his brother Dirth'amen will have entered uthenera, and Falon'Din will have been standing guard, waiting for their prison to open.
    Others will have entered uthenera. June will have likely built traps and mechanisms to protect his body while he sleeps. The female evanuris might have made plans to revive their powers once they awaken, such as by sacrificing any followers locked in with them.
    I think Solas' plan was to use the lyrium mines as a trap for them, hoping they would go there first to regain their powers. There he would trap them and destroy them, but the qunari ruined that plan. So his next plan is to build an army and generals to attack the evanuris as soon as the veil drops over their prisons. But I think each general and their soldiers will be destroyed by the evanuris, and it will be up to our protags to defeat them, likely starting with June, who is probably the weakest.
    The last will probably be Elgar'nan, and the final battle will have to take place inside the Black City. Our protags will be able to travel there after the Hero of Ferelden returns with the cure for the taint. Then our protags will kill Elgar'nan, and accidentally fulfill Mythal's will.

    I'm guessing we'll get to meet most of the Elvin pantheon. Some allies that will help the fight, some in more of a counselor position, and some as enemies. The Dreadwolf is misguided, but seeking to right a wrong. So if anything he'll probably be the final boss of Act 1 and then he'll end up joining us to some extent or another.
    But now the question: what if breaking the veil gives us....Dwarf Mages? The only reason Dwarves can't be magic is due to their complete disconnect from the veil, but we did see something akin to Dwarven magic in DA:I....

    I strongly believe that the two Evanuris in the mural are Elgar'nan and Mythal. There's this strong sense of... like Yin and Yang between them? Like perfect opposites? The male figure is all large bodied and smooth lines with arms spread away from himself, and the female is very slender and spikey with arms crossed in front of her. Add to that their horns(?) that look like the sun and moon AND that if you look closely at the yellow markings on the male's chest that are very clearly the female's arms (her forearms gradually turn yellow) that almost look like she could be hugging him from behind in a lover's embrace (which implies to me an intimate relationship between the two). Plus, the female's horns look exactly like the statues of Mythal in the Trespasser deep roads as well as the staff Mythal wields in some of her concept art.
    So to sum it up: Sun/Moon, drawn in a way that is perfectly balanced in how they contrast, an implied intimate relationship, and similarities between the female figure and statues of Mythal? Elgar'nan and Mythal seem like the only two who would fit.

    I would honestly not be surprised if this entire time Solas has been pulling a Lelouche from Code Geass, making himself the target to force the world to work together against him. Difference in this case would be that he'd be doing so in order to make sure the world is prepared for the inevitable return of the Elven Gods. We've seen well before Solas woke up and started with his plan that the Veil is weak in many places. It could be that those weaknesses and the Blights are the work of these trapped Elven Gods trying to get out.

    7 arch demons, 9 elven gods, -2 with Solas and Mithal, -5 from previous blights, archdemons = elven gods. Only 2 elven gods left. The slept in their dragon forms and whispered to the blighted who were connected to their holy city from the original corruption. They may align with the forgotten ones. Mithal was absorbed into Solas, but she does have a piece in either the inquisitor or Morrigan

  • @harrytodd5079

    Yeah I never saw Solas as an enemy, he's just a hubristic character trying to fix something he views as a mistake - and making a new one in the process. He firmly believes he is the protagonist and that through his efforts alone he can solve the problem without realising that he almost certainly can't. He also seems to forget that the other Gods won't have been sat idle, they will have been planning and acting where they could (for example when a set of mages broke through the Veil and entered their prison - potentially creating the Darkspawn which I've long thought were a dark mirror of life in Thedas).
    From the gameplay trailer for Veilguard we now know he is likely the Act 1 problem before things get really bad.

    Based on this video, I believe the events will go as follow:
    Act 1- The player character (for one reason or another) works with the inquisition to track down solas. During their serch, they are contacted by the an Elven cult called the Executors with whom the player can chose to allie with or not. At the end of the act, they manage to find Solas and interupt him as he was about to destroy the veil. As a result, the veil remains but it is weakened, allowing the Evanuris led by El Ganan to escape from the fade. This is the worst case scenario as Solas's plan to defeat the Evanuris requiered the complete destruction of the veil. Fortunately, they are weakened from centuries of emprisonement and cannot conquer Thedas imediately.
    Act 2- With the veil weakened, spirits and deamons are appearing all over Thedas, magical incidents wreak havock in Tevinter and Elven slaves, embolden by the chaos and the return of their gods, revolts against their masters who answer with cruel represions. To make matters worth, the Qunari are now preparing an invasion of the Imperium who they believe responsibles for these events. Similarely to "Dragon Age Origins" and "Dragon Age Inquisition", the act wil largely be spent gathering allies and helping to settle matters in the imperium (slavery, coruption, the Qunari etc...) while twarting the Evenuris's scheems. Some of the weaker Evenuris are likely to die during that phase. It is possible that the player's involvement in the final events of Act 1 gives them the possibility to do so.
    Act 3- The Evanuris and their Executors followers have been held at bay so far, but now El Ganan and his peers have nearly regained their full powers. The player, the Inquisition and their newly gathered allies team up with Solas in a desperate attempt to stop them. Against all hods, they succeed.
    Following this, I can see three endings: 1- The veil remain weakened, further empowering mages and magical entities while allowing greater contact between people and spirits. 2- The veil is fixed save at one place on the forest of Arlathan where the Elves build a new kingdom with deep conections to the fade. 3- The veil is fixed and the world is returned to what it was.
    As for Solas, his fate will depend on the player's decisions. Maybe he will sacrifice himself to stop the Evanuris. Mabe the character will kill him, either as punishment for his crimes or to stop him from destroying the veil along with the world. Or, maybe he will survive and start a new life in anonimity but lose his immortality in the process.

  • @efaristi9737

    I'm sure Solas won't be the main villain. His plan after the destruction of the Orb smell second-handed, something quickly put together that won't have the same efficiency than the original. He's going to be overwhelmed by events and accidentally free the Evanuris. And he is honestly way too sympathic to be the evil we want to destroy. Unlike the Evanuris. I'm also convinced that the developper want to explore how Thedas would be like once reunited with the Fade, how societies and the species will be changed by it. It could even open the field for future games.
    5:12 I think this is Ghil'anain. Not sure though but her tails does make me think of her portfolio as mother of animals. Also, yeah, the Evanuris are CLEARLY not elves, at least, not anymore.
    6:20 It's not Solas, voice aside, Solas clearly stated that he wasn't interested in ruling the world, only in remaking it like it was originally.
    8:26 I doubt it's Elgar'nan. Even its mythological counterpart is not known to bring "peace and confort".
    9:23 That doesn't make sense, Mythal is Flemeth and reside in Solas. She was also one of the few elven gods to be decent, she wouldn't aid Elgar'nan.

    I'm curious as to what connection red lyrium form Meredith and Corypheus holding the orb in relation to the two elven gods depicted in this mural. Meredith had no intention of breaking into the golden city but Cory does. So I ask what could they mean as we know red lyrium Meredith still exist in the series, but Cory we know being dead(?). Could Meredith's action in the series be attributed to an elven god wanting to be reborn in a red lyrium body? Could Cory and the other 6 magisters action in breaking into the Golden city be the call of one specific powerful elven god?
    As always love your content! ❤❤❤

For example, if possible I will do everything in my power to give power back to Mythal. I’ll work with Morrigan and even Solas as long as Mythal can reclaim her position as head of the pantheon. What if we can support the evil voiced god? It’d be interesting.

    Been saying this all along Solas simply doesn't have a Aura of wickedness. Then ending credits Solas agonized his regret of his decision and he had no other alternative. I've been theorizing that destroying the veil is to stop the Evanuris. Out of the murals they have shown was an Elf surrounded by fire and staring down a dark beast(some who think that is Part of Solas sundered) and is protecting a gizelle(forget proper name) But that's what makes me believe that Lavellan is the DAI canon protagonist because it ties motives and storyline perfectly and that Dark beast isn't Solas at all it's the Evanuris. I think ppl think there is only 2 Evanuris left because all of but 2 of the old Gods were destroyed along with the blights. I feel that the blight and the Evanuris are connected. But if there is only 2 left definitely going with Elgar'Nan and Andruil. But if all the Evanuris are alive and escape I can see them manipulate the heros attempting to hunt Solas not realizing the real threat till it's almost too late. I don't see Solas as the disposable villain, he will have his own agenda but he isn't Evil that's also why I think Lavellan is the canon hero it just ties the narrative just right.

    I'm gonna guess that it's Mythal. "It was at this moment that Mythal walked out of the sea of the Earth's tears and onto the land. " and "The Dalish believe that Mythal was born of the sea" are two things that just struck with me when I first read them. There's also a better balance between Sun and Moon, Fire and Water, a husband and a wife. But since Mythal may be gone, I wonder if there's some idea of this creature being a twisted mythal, like the tie between the old gods and the evanuris. Like how a spirits purpose may be twisted into the opposite, I wonder if it could be related to that.

    Ghila'nian is already being given importance among other gods thanks to the bits of lore in DAI and the Grey Pools depicted in that story from Tevinter Nights, she could be like a misterious opposing antagonist during the game until being uncovered.

    What would be an interesting twist here is that Solas becomes an ally of convenience against the new big bad. And most of the first half of the game is you getting into conflict with him about his philosophy and world view, and as you work together you either slowly more sympathetic towards him or alienated towards him. And then, you defeat the new big bad but then PLOT TWIST, solas had other plans all along and was partly manipulating you. This sets him up as not only a more compelling villain as by this point you kinda understand Solas more as the dread wolf as you have a personal stake in his rational for his motivations now, but it sets him up as an even bigger bad than the guy you just beat cause he, once again, managed to turn a losing situation to meet his ends. Then you either get a choice to side with him or against him, and siding with him brings on even more moral stakes as the game will keep putting you in situations that would test your morals and loyalty. Will you join solas in his quest to create a better world at the cost of your soul? Or will the people around you convince you that there is a better way?
