I see so Rex is combat smart, I've gotten the wrong idea. Rex knows how to battle better than anyone else but when it comes to book and social smarts he's not as smart. His innocent but battle hungry nature seems to boost his social standing though because anyone could approach him without feeling below him. And because he loves a challenge he'll take almost any job. Not only that but his teamwork is outstanding to him cutting off the cultist every time they tried to run to him jumping on near invisible flooring you can count on him to finish a job even if you provide the bare minimum support. Rex also isn't afraid to rush in into battle. Do to his.... blood lust I should say he doesn't feel fear in the middle of combat. If I were to give him game like stats I would give him. Magic: B Strength: B IQ: C Battle IQ: A Stamina: A Agility: B Flexibility (To figure out how to overcome the odds and to work with people): A The only problem with Rex I've seen so far is his naivety. Since he'll help out anyone some bad guy could just ask for help in getting some powerful evil item and he'll do it without a second thought. However this problem could be fixed very easily. Edit: Also don't give him a book quiz or test he'll fail.
your forgetting that how ever basic it was he did take a quiz at the farmers market episode getting 9/10. though he could have gotten the last question with critical thinking going back to when solace and somber got lapis lazuli he still wasn't taught it, he clearly retains information given to him. though in the social aspect of intelligence he is lacking.
