My childhood right there. I grew up in the early 90’s allergic to wheat, eggs, and peanuts. My mom would make these for me on my birthday in place of cake and sometimes surprise me with them when I came home from school 😊
Grew up eating and later making these for my family. The original recipe calls for a splash of vanilla flavoring...makes all the difference in taste. Yum.
I use other candy flavoring sometimes too. Those lorann candy flavors are fun. My favorite is still that bright yellow fake banana lol. I'm tickled that occasionally stores near me carry little banana flavored marshmallows that are dipped in sugar like peeps. The peach ones are good too. The ice cream ones pfft.. just buy regular marshmallows and dip in sugar. Same flavor 😅
My aunt used to make these when l was a child. I absolutely loved them. When l came back from Europe in my 30s she brought me a batch. I was so touched that she'd remembered. No cheating marshmallows in hers though. She made proper ones with caramel made from honey. 😁
This is so cool! I'd have me a whole colorful village 😊 with fruity & coco pebbles too! Let's jaz it up!! Thanks for the never ending inspiration chef Andy!

Ok...now you are just showing off with that fabulous igloo🤤 I just got a craving for these last week, made them with peanut butter and a drizzle of chocolate. Sometimes these quick, nostalgic recipes hit the spot! Thanks chef!!!
I recommend making them a day ahead because I think the flavor improves with a little age. I have also experimented with browning the butter just a bit to give a different flavor. I think adding a pinch of salt helps and if you want to add shredded chocolate you get a whole other kind of treat.
Rice Krispie treat igloo is definitely a first! Here's a tip to boost the flavor: make them with browned butter instead of plain melted. Glad I could help.
Special tip: add pure vanilla extract after melting the marshmallows and butter, and after you remove it from the heat. It makes AMAZING rice crispy treats!
My family likes to make, I’m not sure if this is colloquial or not, scotcharoos. They are rice krispy treats but with a chocolate butterscotch topping, absolutely delicious and dangerous.
Amazing edits on this!! Love a good rice krispie, make them all the time even now 😅 we get a little fancy with it and throw in chocolate, drizzle it with chocolate, or make diff flavors. Yum!
You need salt and good dash splash scrape of vanilla extract or vanilla caviar past or vanilla beans I love the caviar version myself but any of the options will work great and kick up your rice Krispy treats by alot, or make scotcheroos instead they're another rice Krispy treat and very different as well as delicious
Love the fun edits. Although, for a fun twist on the recipe, try browning the butter, then adding a shot of bourbon before putting in the marshmellows - also putting flaky salt on top after pressing it into the dish, but before it sets. Courtesy of Internet Shaquille
My grandmother used to make chocolate ones all the time by melting chocolate chips and adding them to the marshmallow mix! I’ll have to ask her to make some again soon!
I make them every once in a while, and also sometimes use other cereals. The winner thus far has been the Smorz cereal, because with real marshmallow, it actually tastes VERY smore-y.
I remember buying ingredients as a kid and making them at home just to bring them to school and sell them to kids when the cafe was closed between meal times, made $$$
Ooh my family loves making hommade rice krispy treats, though we really like to put peanut butter in them and it’s soo good. Also once we did it with popcorn instead of the cereal with some M&M’s, that was pretty good too
That edit was FIRE! 🙌🏾😂

@@melmelyeng I think so
I remember making them for school fairs and always eating half the tray before taking them to school 😅
My family made it at home and we also ate a good bit of it before we even let it cool 😂
😂
Same
Yes....very much fun to eat a lot right away ...hehe

Mitch, that edit. On par with Andy’s cooking for sure!
Great sound track Mitch with the nostalgia dish
My wife makes brown butter rice crispy treats with a touch of salt!!! Ooooooooweeeee!!! We call them adult rice crispy treats.
Where I’m from “adult rice crispy treats” means they’re made with fruity pebbles and w33d butter 😄
Ooo I do this too and add cayenne and vanilla
Js say canabutter
Brown butter, vanilla, salt and heavy whipping cream…people want me to make them constantly…
Loved that little edit with the missed marshmallow! 😂
Made them for my children all the time. Now my grandchildren. Thanks for reminding me of great memories

I like to mix in peanut butter with mine. Peanut butter rice crispy is the bomb!
Oi! Nice save, Mitch! That's fantastic!

I made some last week. So phenominal fresh! Loved the cursor retargeting that marshmallow.

Such a good treat, I love to do a chocolate drizzle on top when you flatten it out
We used to make these as kids and take them to my dad on his lunch break, I miss him very much, thank you for the memories ❤
Since you're making nostalgic snacks, you already know what to do next chef. It's about time we get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich video 🔥
I actually love all of your new tattoos! They look so great. I don't have any tattoos, but I just love the way they look on people.
Gotta love a chef who enjoys playing with his food! 😄
Andy seemed to have really enjoyed tossing those marshmallows in!
The igloo is awesome 😎
I loved those as a kid! That rice krispies treats igloo also looks nice

Still make them a few times a year. My favorite childhood treat!
Mitch is anything but basic when it comes to editing videos 🔥
Glad to see healthy eating returns! 😉

The smell of fresh baked rice crispy treats brings back alot of childhood memories.

Edit was nice 👍
Yes. I like the matrix like move he did.
There's a version of this snack in Indonesia. Made from popped rice or corn. Instead of marshmallow, we used caramel to bind the rice or corn.
Love of the humor of that marshmallow edit.
I'm a peanut butter rice crispy gal myself.

Loved every part of this, especially the click part 😂
best thing about them is how dead simple the recipe is. The effort to taste is phenom.
In Sydney, that igloos rent is $350 a week plus bills
OMG… so that’s how you keep parchment paper from moving around 🤯.. thanks for the tip. I make mine with fruity pebbles and they are DELICIOUS!
The fruity pebble treats are *phenomenal*
Try with cap'n crunch. 😊
Andy brought out his inner child for this one, lowkey always wanted to do this
OMfgoodness! I haven't seen a rice krispie treat igloo since the mid '80s! Thanks for reminding me effing AWESOME it was to grow up GenX. ❤

Could you press them between two bowls to cool, in order to avoid the seams?

I typically don’t like marshmallows but I looove Rice Krispie treats
