I can't tell if he's usually like this and edits himself or if quarantine has made him go a bit strange. Either way, I'm in to it.
No, I've seen him live; he's like this all the time! Glorious!
I don't see anything strange. Maybe you're the strange one.
Gotta love Alton! That guy can cook anything and doesn’t take himself too seriously!!! He’s kinda like a wreck you can’t look away from!!! He’s so smart it’s scary though! Lol
I love Alton!! I especially like him during quarantine. NO RULES!!
This man taught me to cook when I was 7 years old and my mom was working to pay the bills. It was just me and a remote. Thank you for letting me help my mom the best I could bro!!! And it came out amazing!!!! Love you G
Putting it back in the box is genius, as there's one less thing to wash.
A little bit of molten plastic is always good, eh?
@@oceyho What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger! Quit worrying so much!
Right when you said butter but it's a brand, my heart screamed Kerry gold and alton delivered.
It was "Pop" that died in the browning process.
They say that “once you pop, you can’t stop.” Next up the Trix Rabbit.
Is that why he never came back from "getting a pack of cigs"?
RIP POP
Altom, not only do I enjoy your great recipes, I enjoy your sense of humor. you are a blessing in these times of distress,
I watched Good Eats growing up and you're still my favorite chef of all time. Good to see you cooking again, Alton.
I never stopped.
@@AltonBrown Well shoot, more fool me then!
At 2:24, I wish Alton said “I can’t tell if it’s Snap or Krackle, but one of them is about to POP. “
Also, 2:28 “ I’m burning...” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
And then ate Pop 😂
DAMNIT!
@@AltonBrown Writing is always easier in hind-sight.
That would have been perfect lol.
This is what I expected him to say...
Mandela effect is in full swing, because I thought he did say that until I saw this comment.
Our "recipe" is almost the exact same, save for one addition. We add in chopped rosemary! Fricken' phenomenal! Always a hit at the family gatherings....back when we could have gatherings.
That sounds weird in a good way. I would definitely give it a try.
...those were the days...
This sounds insanely terrible.
Savory rice crispies? I dunno about that
@@AngelaMastrodonato I mean, yes, but I think of it more as floral. Mixed with the browned butter, it's really really good!
My little sister would use a long-handled spoon to carefully remove the innards from a jar of Marshmallow Creme, without disturbing the thin, thin layer she left lining the jar, then replace the jar in the cupboard.
As a young boy I loved watching good eats whenever possible. Good to see your alive and well my friend, very few have your charm!
I like these versions as much as the tv edition ones. I call these Good Eats: Real Edt.
So we can cross cereal boxes off the uni-tasker list.
Dang right
Before I clicked on this I said to my husband, “If he doesn’t brown the butter I’m going to be so disappointed..”
But of course he browned the butter.... how could I doubt Alton like that?
Can we not tell Alton when the shelter in place is over so we can watch him slowly unravel and continue to give us this amazing content?
Alton please, please promise to not stop the videos when this is over.. definitely a highlight of my day, and I’m sure others as well...
I have really enjoyed having you do these. I enjoyed good eats and I missed having you create things. I know you were around, but it is in this setting where your personality shines.
I believe that Good Eats ran a “contest” years ago asking viewers to send in their best home made video of being Alton Brown and doing their own imitation Good Eats segment of some kind. Alton at home like this, doing these segments, and submitting it, would have at least gotten a great 3rd place, maybe 2nd even. 😜. Just kidding. These are awesome! I’ve been a big fan for years, and cooked along with you many times. Love the informality, the brand discussion, and you just being here. Thanks for sharing your passion and reminding us how fun things can be with the right viewpoint.
He's losing his mind and I'm ok with that.
I think on some level, we all are losing our minds. Just in different ways. And some of us already had.
Pretty sure he lost it years ago like the rest of us 😊
So is everybody else. Welcome to the party!!
Alton's been cooped up too long.....did his wife go AWOL?
@@RoninXDarknight I was gonna say, he lost it years ago. He just has to keep his gig on Food Network so he covers it up.
TH-cam tho... has let the cat out of the bag!
I didn't know I needed gourmet butter until now, I've never seen something so golden.
there was a Good Eats episode that discussed how the more expensive brands differ, and whether it's worth bothering to get them. like european butter (we see Irish butter a lot where I shop) has a different crystal structure because it's churned longer, or something like that? so if you're going to use it for something like pie crust or scones, it's worth getting, because it melts more slowly I think... maybe I have that backwards, but it's damn tasty.
Alton Brown raised me via Food Network & is 110% the reason I'm the host of every family event & in charge of alllll the cooking that comes with it 💪🏽🥰..... And for that I also secretly cuss Alton out on holidays when I'm in the kitchen whippin & stressed to the max 😆🤣 No but really, since a very young jit, 8yrs & up I would be glued to the TV, watching Alton and taking in every golden nugget he gave throughout his career on the Food Network 😀. THANK YOU SiR ALTON. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Always a handy yet a very tricky idea. I love Alton Brown always have always will.
"Could we make our own marshmallows?" Well I've a stand mixer, that episode of Good Eats ready to go, and nothing better to do, so... yes?
Alton's marshmallow recipe is the only one I've ever used. Straightforward, relatively easy, and delicious. Why even bother trying a different recipe, right? 😄 Hope you enjoyed your goodies!
I've considered it. Them I remember my apartment kitchen is tiny and I dont have space to safely juggle molten sugar.
And here we observe Alton Brown, slowly morphing into the mad culinary genius we all knew was hiding inside all along
Putting the mix back into the bag... BRILLIANT.
So glad to see you again Alton. I loved good eats. Watched it religiously! Got some good cooking lessons from you. Thank you for all the good eats!
Just made this. As if it needs to be said, it was the best Rice Crispy Treats I’ve ever had.. hats off to you Alton!
The camera reminds me of that last transformers movie.
nah, that would require a lens flare
I'm totally going to do this at Christmas time as a gift!
Dana Michigan do it.
Upload the reactions. 😆
Ditto DO IT!!!!
"I feel like Willy Wonka"
my man you are the willy wonka of food
Naa willy wonka walks around saying " I feel like Alton Brown"

Darn it Alton Brown! You are now a national treasure keep teaching me the art of cooking. Long time fan.
I've got a wok, rice crispys, expensive butter, and the jet puffed marshmallows! This is the third time watching this video, and im ready to make them!!!- only im putting them into a 13/9 glass pan, to cool in. Then i will cut the bars, and wrap them individually with press and seal saran wrap, then put them in a gallon size ziplock baggies. Because even though my pan has a lid, they got stale. Thanks for the new twist in this recipe!!!
1:46 Ahhh...... the best kind of person in the world is an honest person.
But not so honest that they won't eat rice Krispy treats out of the cereal box to fool their mom
@@pennyfarting yeah, LMAO I typed out my witty comment before I finished the video
"So shines a good deed in a weary world..."
Believe me if there was a Rice Krispies Treats Boy Scouts badge, I would have got it.
Now for the a long version where we puff our own rice, churn our own butter , and whip our own marshmallows. We are stuck inside we need tasks.
I love this man, been watching him since I was a lot younger then I am now. Thank you for all this fantastic recipes I’ve probably used your recipes more then I’ve used anyone else’s.
Alton, your pantry raid editions have been awesome! Love your food and humor. My son is going to video record cooking one of your recipes for his senior foods class!
