@Don Peyton go for it! I still use Music Maker for arranging and ideas, as well as Samplitude. I think it's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of features in Samp (or any DAW) so take it slow and learn how to do things as you need to know them. Videos like Marco's are great for these when you suddenly think "How Do I....?". Enjoy! And thanks to Marco for your videos, too!

Thank you very much! There are very few good tutorials on Samplitude. You say in one of your videos that you tested several DAWs before you switched to Samplitude. Was Presonus Studio One one of them? I ask for the following reason: I have been working with Samplitude for a few years, starting in the days of SEKD Germany... since 1999 (I have only recorded "acoustic" material, i.e. no midi, internal sound generators, etc.). Now my daughter has started singing German Schlager. Now I want to try to work with Midi, Sampler & Co. I have no experience in this field. I am now wavering between Samplitude and Studio One... Can you please help me? Many thanks and best regards Wolfgang Kreuzer (from Austria/Carinthia :-)
I never tried studio one. When I made my tests it was between Sonar (which was my main DAW before they close shop) Samplitude and Reaper. Samplitude is fully equiped with midi features. Where it may lack is for looping samples.. but I don't do this kind of production.. For starting with midi, you may want to listen to this video and feel free to ask questions : th-cam.com/video/WO5-7rPRemI/w-d-xo.html
@@wolfgangkreuzer145 Hip hop artists often use wave files called loops. for exemple a drum loop they will copy over a part of a song with some keys and other pre-recorded instruments. Not using midi, nor recording themself. There are some DAWs that are more oriented to this kind of work, like FL studio etc..
@@MarcoPrimeau Thank you very much. I think that should also work with Samplitude - perhaps not as comfortably as in other DAWs. But I think I will stay with Samplitude.
hello Marco, I have a question with SPX6, I hope you can help me, I want to connect a midi controller to activate and deactivate effect pedals (press button) in the Neural DSP plugin, I already configured the controller but I can't get the controller to work unless activate midi recording, the problem is that in this type of recording the guitar and the effects do not sound, but the controller already works
Makes sure you are on Mixer Fx monitoring and that the track who receives the midi data has the monitoring activated. I don't use Neural, but there might be some midi settings in it too.
You must first determin what cause the latency. Most of the time there is too many thing for the computer to do in realtime and this can't be fixed. You can deactivate realtime effects, virtual instruments etc. Then the latency should go down.. Also try to make some changes to the buffer adjustment. Start at 256, go lower, go higher. see if it helps. At the end, it can be driver related of simply your computer doesn't have enough ressources available. Deactivate network connections and antivirus or other malware protections.. Then the writing aspect, have a SSD, not external on usb on which you record the files..
How do I create an instrument track to eventually drive the Avox Harmony Engyne via midi, in other software you have 3 possibilities of how to open a track, audio track, midi track , instrument track , but I don't see the same possibility in Samplitude . By !!!
Usually you just need to put the virtual instrument in the effect bin using the plugin browser. then Samp will ask question as how to deal with the outputs and midi on the same track or seperate midi and outputs.
Hi, I could not do what you wrote me, that option opens only when you put Vsti multitimbral and not when you put Harmony engineer on effects browser, you could make a video how to harmonize with Harmony engineer piloted by masterkeyboard via midi. Thank you
@@angelomezzetti8591 Ok I had to research since I don't have harmony engin. In fact it doesn't make any sound by itself. It needs to be put on a vocal track as a plugin in the effect bin. Once there you can arrange the intervals for each back vocals. But you can also drive these notes from midi information. Those needs to be recorded on a seperate track, arm it as a midi track (every tracks have this button) then make sure that the input is your midi interface or external controler and the output needs to be the Harmony engin plugin/track.
Hi Marco, I use "Samplitude pro X 2" but when I use an external soundcard ( Scarlett 8i6 3th gen ) I get the mixer of my Scarlett en not the usb settings like you when I use the "controle Panel", when I use the "Magix low latency" only with my laptop ( no external soundcard ) I can change de settings of the Asio, but I don't find how I can make the Asio compatible with my "Scarlett 8i6 3th gen" ... Can you help me please ? Thanks in advance ! 👍
Check on Focusrite Website, they should have ASIO drivers made specificly for the 8i6. once installed, they should appear in Samplitude list of drivers
Hi Marco, Is there a way to split 2 stereo channels on 1 track into 2 tracks ? I just imported a stereo signal via SD card from a field recorder but Samplitude put 2 channels on one track.
There isn't any stereo splitter that I know of included in samplitude.. but you can load the file twice, on seperate tracks. If you go into the object editor and pan far left one objet and the other far right, you will hear only one side.. then if you want to hear it in the middle, change the track to mono. Once there you can freeze the tracks and drag the result to other tracks.. Bit complicated.. but working
Thank you, so far I just copied it to another and panned track 1 left and track 2 right. (Thankfully I recorded it 1 channel hard left and the other hard right)
To separate the stereo file physically, select the object and chose menu file > advanced export > convert mono/stereo > Stereo-Wave -> 2 Mono Waves. This creates two mono files in the folder where the stereo file is, adds an object in the project below the first one, changes the reference of both objects to the two mono files and pans them hard left/right.
