les pauls personal with the whammy had a custom upper pickguard. and it was a gold top. surprised he didn't mention anything about it considering i saw a picture of it on this channel

I have been playing drums for 38 years. When I was young I tried guitar first but lived in a small isolated town with no lessons. So drums just "clicked" for me.
Long story shortened, I love everything guitar, BUT I have severe sausage fingers. I bought a Gibson SG standard, a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Fender USA Telecaster about 15 years ago. Still havent played either one more than a few strums when I change strings or do maintenance (they still need yearly tuneups/cleanings even if display pieces). I still occasionally try with an acoustic guitar so eventually, I can do some justice to the electrics. For now, I just take them off the wall, adjust what needs adjusting or setup, clean them, turn the knobs so they dont get sticky, and put them back up for "the future" when I retire in a few years and have some time to devote

Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees had a double pick guard deluxe in the 70s during the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ era.

That Gibson F-25 acoustic isn't a spanish flamenco guitar, it was created to appeal to folkies. I have one. It's great.

very cool. I've saw Steve Howe and GE Smith playing Gibson ES series with double pickguards. I think GE's was a ES345 with factory double guard.
That’s a pretty creative way to get yourself a Buckethead! Good on the guy that took the time to do that. I think it’s pretty cool if you’re looking for his guitar at a decent price.
That Tokyo Les Paul is a real cool piece. That finish I recognize, a neighborhood kid got one about the same time, only in New York state. I haven't seen that finish since...1979-1981

IronGear UK are NOT boutique - They're UK designed but made overseas, usually £20-40 a pickup
i was going to say just that - expect Tonerider would be the closest equivalent in the US?
although they don't cost much, they are pretty good - i have Iron Gear in a few guitars and they stand up against SD, House of Tone, etc

iron gear don't seem to make that claim, anymore than tonerider do. they are well made by a 3rd party and i have owned - and still own - many
they don't have the cost of labour a pickup made in the US or EMEA would incur, so can be less expensive
@@ChrisShortyAllen Boutique implies made by a small maker, in low numbers, and usually at a high price - Tone Rider, Iron Gear, they're effectively no different to mass produced SD or DiMarzio?
For the record, I own both Tone Rider and Iron Gear pickups - They're not bad but they're not "boutique" ✌

Do you think a 75 Les Paul DX for $2500 is expensive? It's CS in color but has been modified, for example one pickup has been replaced with a humbucker, but the other condition is original and in much better than player condition.
I just sold a 76 deluxe that had been routed out for humbuckers, for $2,500. So you're right on the money.
I don't get how you can get decent intonation with this wraparound bridge... I've seen the compensated ones on more modern LP Juniors, but this one looks like a straight line...
