Emily Perkins and Katherine Isabell actually did several films together. They also played recurring roles in Supernatural. Love to see that they kept working together after these three films!
I loved that you two finally got to watch Ginger Snaps. I absolutely love it. Can't wait to see you two watch and react to Ginger Snaps Back. And absolutely. Jennifer's Body definitely took some inspiration from Ginger Snaps.
This was one of my favourite movies growing up. I’ve always liked Jennifer’s Body as well. I haven’t seen Ginger Snaps in years though, and it’s kind of blowing my mind how much they’re nearly the same movie 🤯 The whole ‘teen girl turns into literal monster as metaphor for coming of age’ isn’t uncommon, but Jennifer’s Body is practically a remake!
What I really appreciated about this movie is that it features a female werewolf. And it did it in a poetic kind of way, with the whole becoming a woman aspect. Growing up I only ever saw Ginger Snaps and Trick 'r Treat feature them.(in the latter they have a whole pack!) I watched the sequel and the prequel a couple of times. I'd say both are an interesting watch!
Oh my god, I’ve never clicked so quick! I love love LOVE this masterpiece of a werewolf movie. Ginger Snaps is my favorite Halloween movie. Oh dear Sergio. “NOOO WHY? Maybe it’s behind us.” Sorry but no. No it’s not. Gotta get a drink to join you queens!
As a Canadian and a fan of werewolf films, I LOVED this! Was blessed to see it when it came out, fabulous back then and still one of my favorites. You have to keep going with the series, though this one is by far the best. And miss Katherine Isabelle here is fire and such an amazing Canadian actress, love her unique beauty. You should for sure watch "American Mary" on this channel, would love to see your reaction. It's different but in the best possible And Jennifer's body was inspired by this film. Cheers!
The title actually has a triple meaning. a) the classic cookie b) Ginger has a psychotic break (she snaps) c) as she's becoming a wolf, Ginger bites people (she snaps AT them)
I need to rewatch GSB because child me loved it but wondering how it measures in the adult mind. Unleashed introduced me to Tatiana Maslany so that’s great.
The werewolf transformation is a great mirror to menstruation, and puberty in general, with all its horror: unwanted body changes, emotional volatility, and a creeping sense that your insides are staging a coup. It's like Carrie meets Teen Wolf, but with more tampons and much sharper teeth. One of my favorite horror movie series. Seriously have a love for all three!
Hey guys, fun reaction!😊 Although I really like the GINGER SNAPS trilogy, my favorite one is actually GINGER SNAPS BACK: THE BEGINNING, maybe because it's taking place in the 1700's w/the same 2 sisters. U guys saw TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL, right? The guy that Brigitte tested the serum on played "Chad", the jerk college kid, yet Sergio remembered the guy that played "Ian McKinley" in FINAL DESTINATION 3.🤔 O, congrats on soon to be marrying or getting married.🎉😊
This is a wellness check for Sergio after all the dog scenes 😭 I had no idea what to expect going into this, but I loved it! It really did give Jennifer’s body vibes. I’m a sucker for movies about outcast teens that get thrown into the limelight somehow but add in a supernatural element on top of that & I’m sat! They did a really good job showing the sisterly bond & how the relationship struggled as she succumbed to her wolf self. I was hoping Sam would survive 😭 That ending was so sad but I liked seeing Bridgette get stronger & not blindly follow Ginger. Also shoutout to the mom who wanted to just burn the house down & skip town with her daughters even ditching the husband 😂 She’s a real one. Wonderful reaction as always guys 🖤
NO WAY!!!! I used similar easter eggs in an art project for HS that was around sex, drugs, and rock & roll!! 🎉🎉🎉 It was all those things, but twisted into death images... Was _not_ popular. 😂😂😂
@@myajanell2504 oh yeah! The 2nd one is a direct continuation & the 3rd one is a prequel and they’re both pretty good! So I hope they react to those too
First time I saw this I wondered why Emily Perkins looked so familiar, and looked her up to find out it was because she played Beverly in the original '90s miniseries of It.
Love it! I'm too tired right now, but definitely gonna watch this when I get time. Ginger Snaps, Wolf Girl, and Halloweentown give me the Fall vibes of way back.
As someone who's teen years were spent in southern Ontario in the aughts, this movie was basically my life - minus turning into the wolfman's girlfriend. Perfectly encapsulates that specific brand of suburban weirdness. Also! The actor playing the teacher horrified at their short film was a regular on the Red Green Show, an ICONIC Canadian comedy show of the 90s-00s.
One of my favorite memories of college was watching all three of the movies in a marathon projected against a sheet on the wall. I introduced my friends to the trilogy and they loved it. Perfect conditions to watch it in
Got to use this movie to defend a female coworker who was experiencing horrible menstrual pain and the manager had no empathy... "Just so you know, the words 'just' and 'cramps'-they don't go together."
Watch 2 and 3 next I swear they’re just as good 😭🙌 So happy you guys watched this. Easily one of my all time favorite films ever and it’s criminally underrated.
@@myajanell2504 the others are so good too honestly. Ones a sequel and the other a prequel oddly enough and while all of the films have their own unique themes and twists I think the core theme of the relationship between the sisters is heart of them all. Their chemistry together is SO GOOD 😤👏 I know they get some mixed reactions from fans of the first one cuz they are VERY different but I honestly think that when put all together as a trilogy it SLAPS
I hope you guys react to Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (should’ve been called Bridgett Snaps) and Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (prequel). I recently found out about the sequel and loved it. Wish I had known about it sooner. Prequel’s pretty cool too and has the same actors as sister’s again. I know some may not enjoy the films after the first but I enjoyed them a lot!!!
This was one of my fav movies as a kid! (I had no parental supervision when it came to tv or movies 😂) I still absolutely love it. So glad you guys gave it a chance!
There's this brand at dollar and outlet stores that I love. They have an excellent snap and flavor, and go great with my hazelnut creamer and coffee. I prefer them not to have icing! As I have gotten older, icing and glaze has a bitter taste to me. Jfc.... What am I, 145 years old? 😂😂😂
When I was a kid, I used to feel bad for Sam. Now as a woman in my 30s, I am so glad that creep bit it. I mean, he was literally a drug dealing groomer who hung around the high school and “cherry picked” sixteen year olds. The guy had to be at least 22
Kudos Sergio, Kris Lemche was the guy from Final Destination 3! Also, I half expected a little shade thrown in Mimi Rogers’ direction given she was the first wife of Tom Cruise.
There are two of the dudes from Final Destination 3 in there. Mary Elizabeth Winstead's boyfriend is one of the friend group. He was also Chad in Tucker and Dale. 💜
I haven't watched this yet, reactions currently playing on my TV. I just wanted to say of this series I do think ginger snaps back the beginning is my favorite one. Hopefully you'll watch them all.
Werewolf enthusiast here! Movie werewolves are very different from mythological werewolves! WWs in myth have no special weaknesses and there are a lot of questions unanswered like how old can a werewolf get? In movies WW lore varies widely - silver as a weakness, the moon as an influence, it spreads like a curse or like a disease... There is also a very big difference with the temperament and portrayal of WWs. In myth WW have control over their forms, are intelligent, and have human speech. In movies it is often that WWs have little control over themselves and are reduced to big extremely violent and dumb dogs... In myth there were even WW knights!
I watched this last night two decades after I saw it the first time as a kid who had an elder sister ( now brother ) I was attached to during strenous traumatizing moments in our lives together and this movie STILL blows me away. Its flawless AND timeless
Oooo..... I do something similar. Basically I put a galan of it in a big ole pot on the stove with a sliced up orange, a handful of cranberries and a couple cinnamon sticks. You can go with or without the rum but it's lovely during the holidays.
The amount of times that i made my parents rent me this movie back in the day isn't healthy 😅 i love this movie. When I saw that you guys were going to react to it I went crazy 😂😂 Great reaction as always!!! ❤
This film paved the way for "Jennifer's Body" but this one is WAAAAAY Better. The whole Ginger Snaps trilogy is a masterpiece. The second movie is actually very impressive. Specially because horror movie sequels usually recycle the formula and Ginger Snaps 2 doesn't. It's totally unpredictable. Every 15 min or so that movie pulls the rug under you, always keeps you guessing and goes in directions you are not expecting. It's also darker and probably the scariest installment of the this trilogy. Such a brave, creative and dark sequel. Amazing. The third one is its own thing, but still connects to the core story and feels like it goes full circle. This trilogy is a staple in the horror genre.
So glad you guys finally watched this this is one of my favorite movies of all time honestly I love all of them honestly but so excited for this and I can't wait for my day off so I can do the watch along 😂❤ love u both ❤
Emily Perkins (Bridget) will always be to me "Beverly March" from "IT" the original. And both of the guys were in Final Destination 3. The jerk was the boyfriend in FD3
Fun fact: Ginger Snaps is one of the main influences and inspiration behind Jennifer's Body
I can see it now.. also a great double feature!!
Do a whole weekend with The Craft and Raw.
i love how Bridgit had a complete change from the beginning of wanting to die with her sister to saying im not dying in this room with you
right

Them playing sisters in Selena Gomez's Cinderella Story still makes me giggle after watching this.
It IS the guy from final destination 3
The fact your clocking all the horror movie references is crazy to the Jennifer body comparison, to the taste music video to the horror scream queen

This movie is great. I got to meet Emily Perkins at a horror film festival in Houston Texas. She was really sweet and works in education now.
I love Ginger Snaps and Ginger Snaps Unleashed...I can give or take Ginger Snaps Back. lol
I need to rewatch GSB because child me loved it but wondering how it measures in the adult mind. Unleashed introduced me to Tatiana Maslany so that’s great.
I did enjoy the one that was a prequel more than the sequel, but I'd never given any of them up.
