Only some 100 peope on there are operational officers, the rest are support and maintenance personal for the vessel itself or the aircrafts on it. Which is weird about Halo in this regard. Saying a heavy corvett has only a crew numbering in the few dozens. Despite having multiple Banshees which all would requiere constant maintence. And then there is also the logistical problems with all the troops stationed in the vessel. In this regard, despite that a modern day super carrier being around 1/3 the length and less so the overall size, the former has some 200-300x the crew size when compared to a Halo heavy corvette.

The scale is still a problem but yeah, most of the crew would be there to replace all those explosive corridor panels. Which inturn is more funny as in in an attempt of making things "real" ( and confusing it with a smaller scale ) they made it on the other hand completly unbelievlable that a mere 2 engineers can do the maintenance work that in reality would take probably at least 1-2000 humans to do.

The most common definition of "corvette" is "the smallest type of named warship (as opposed to a numbered boat) in the fleet". That makes the term highly relative :P.
And bomb a city and deploy the troops to invade a military base while carrying enough fighters to screen out an enemy air force. But trust us, it's a corvette. It's a very pretty design, but I wish it wasn't a do-everything ship. It's appearance and size (decently sized hangar, lots of empty space underneath for docking of smaller vessels) would make it perfect as an Amphibious Assault Ship or equivalent (Landing Platform/Dock, Amphibious Transport Dock, etc.), something that sits near planets and supports invasions with pretty minimal ability to defend itself from other ships (I see 3 guns on each side, any others must be tiny).
@George White The USA reactivated Iowa class battleships because there armour made them immune to the anti ship missiles of the Kirov class nuclear powered heavy cruiser. So yeah a modern frigate or destroyer would just be food for a WW2 battleship especially since both types are usually WW2 cruiser size ships.
I loved the Corvette design. Unlike the CCS, CAS, And CSO, it doesn't have the weakness of a relatively thin "neck" thanks to the wing-like designs on the bottom of it; which also somewhat protects the engines. Personally, I would love a CAS designed ship with those Wing-like designs

I, out of personal preference would like to see an alteration to the combat capabilities against UNSC frigates as superior at close range engagements. Even in Reach we see that a single shot from a Paris class can demolish an SDV. The only reason we see the Savanna taken down is because it was to provide support and distraction for noble team's infiltration and take over of the SDV.

Halo Fleet Battles tabletop game died to young. I always wanted to try that game, but now the only way to get it is chasing down used figures and rulebooks on eBay. I keep saying I'll buy it one day, then I get online and see it going for ridiculous prices. I just pray 343i gives the tabletop gaming rights to another company someday for a spiritual sequel.
Spartan Games did not last long. It is a shame because the two big juggernauts Games Workshop and Privateer Press doesn't do starship games. Thing is FFG sort of killed them with their Star Wars miniature games.

You do realize that the Savannah has no chance of victory regardless right? Covenant ships, specifically those on SDV corvettes, have enough power to tank 2-3 Frigate-size MAC rounds. It takes a Paris class frigate an average of 15 seconds to charge their MAC and load a shell, while the SDV can fire all of its broadside cannons forwards due to their placement on sloped areas. It’s also a point that it’s a corvette, not even a frigate or destroyer, meaning it’s likely not a strategic vessel. Even if an ME dreadnaught could break its shields and punch through its armor, it would not be a significant covenant loss by any margin, and a CCS would easily destroy the offending dreadnaught with its energy projectors.
The Sojourn class Dragoons. Tbh id like to see a full theorized Forerunner fleet. We get descriptions of ships but very little actual imagery and/or deckplans.

Its ridiculous how big the power difference was with this tiny ship being able to shrug off shots from MACs with its shields up and frying enemy ships with its weapons
it depends on the ship its up against. Human ships of an equal tonnage were vastly outmatched by covvie defenses and weapons tech. However putting this ship 1 v 1 against a UNSC heavy cruiser, carrier or orbital MAC tips the scales. But you never find 1 covvie ship on its own, and theres always going to be cruisers around which are going to overpower UNSC heavy cruisers and carriers
Also Savannah never used her MAC. She only used her Rampart 50mm coilguns on the sides to avoid destroying the corvette. It's why they did so little damage. Covenants nanolaminate armor is incredibly energy dispersive thats why only the heavier MAC rounds and directionally focused warheads of Archers penetrate the hull.

I loved that we got to see half one of the ships in-game, and it actually made some sense in terms of rooms! Not just a collection of 1000 mile long hallways and corridors that seem to have not too much of a function. The only thing I'd love to see in the future is a barracks, armory and cantina for the Covenant
When looking at the scenery model inside the Reclaimer tool I was actually surprised they made the rooms to scale with the exterior as opposed to The Pillar of Autumn, or to a lesser extend, The Truth and Reconciliation.

I could be wrong but honestly I think the Savannah could of won in an actual 1v1 with the corvette at least in the game. If you watch the Savannah during the mission she wasn't actually trying to destroy the corvette in the first place she was only circling it to be a distractionfor the entry team, She never used any weapons other than her auto cannons which is basically point defense iirc and was being pelted by plasma since she and Noble 6 started targeting the corvettes engines so the Savannah actually lasted about 10-15 minutes of plasma barrages during the mission before going down with only using her point defense cannons, If she really was trying to destroy the corvette the Savannah would utilize her full armament like her MAC and archer missiles and to be honest I think that is more than enough to take out the unshielded Corvette. But again I'm only going off the gameplay from the mission and not lore so like I said at the beginning I could be wrong, Great video nonetheless!
Not really, all Covenant ships are massive and most are much larger. That makes sense when you consider just how massive and ancient the covenant is supposed to be.

I could be wrong but honestly I think the Savannah could of won in an actual 1v1 with the corvette at least in the game. If you watch the Savannah during the mission she wasn't actually trying to destroy the corvette in the first place she was only circling it to be a distractionfor the entry team, She never used any weapons other than her auto cannons which is basically point defense iirc and was being pelted by plasma since she and Noble 6 started targeting the corvettes engines so the Savannah actually lasted about 10-15 minutes of plasma barrages during the mission before going down with only using her point defense cannons, If she really was trying to destroy the corvette the Savannah would utilize her full armament like her MAC and archer missiles and to be honest I think that is more than enough to take out the unshielded Corvette. But again I'm only going off the gameplay from the mission and not lore so like I said at the beginning I could be wrong, Great video nonetheless!

Not really, all Covenant ships are massive and most are much larger.
That makes sense when you consider just how massive and ancient the covenant is supposed to be.
Fair enough, though if this is what the Covenant considers to be a corvette, It'd be interesting to see what a Forerunner corvette would look like.
