You clearly don't understand the meaning of a first degree murder charge and a second degree murder charge. Before someone is convicted, the prosecution has to successfully match the person's intentions with the specific crime. Basically, the difference between the 2 crimes is intent. If the prosecution fails to correctly match the intentions with the specific crime or they lack enough evidence, they risk the accused being found not guilty. I had an innocent family member murdered in 2012 and the person responsible was charged with second degree murder. Our family was extremely upset that he wasn't charged with first degree, until the prosecutor met with us and explained why. First-degree murder is usually intentional and needs the accused person to have committed premeditated murder. For instance, they could have stalked the victim for some time before committing the criminal act. There are circumstances where the intentions match a first-degree murder charge, but the prosecution simply doesn't have enough evidence, so they go for a second-degree conviction to assure the person doesn't get off Scott free. A second degree might be intentional but could be unplanned. The accused person might act out of anger and commit the offense. And it is considered an act of complete disregard for human life. But if you killed someone unintentionally and without prior plans, you could be convicted for voluntary or involuntary manslaughter, based on the specific circumstances. That is why she was charged with second-degree murder. It had absolutely nothing to do with her being a female. In the future, you should educate yourself before making such ridiculous statements.

This interrogation was so frustrating. The second time he asked her to repeat the story, she couldn’t remember what she had said the first time, and the detective walked her thru it, and basically repeated the story for her, with her just agreeing with what he said. The whole point of having the suspect tell the story a second time is to see if they will be consistent with the details. But he did it for her, rather than letting her contradict herself. It’s like he was saving her. Very frustrating.

I’m only an hour into the video but I would say it was done to probably make her feel comfortable and not feel cornered so she will confess. Yes interviews are to find holes in story’s but the number 1 main reason, confession. He needs to keep her talking at all costs and not feel nervous enough to lawyer up. This is a lesson for everyone. Rage, anger, impulsivity, selfishness can get anyone in this same position. You don't have to 'win' over another person every time they challenge your beliefs, your stubbornness, your ego, etc. Choose carefully the hill you want to die on. Not everything has to be a battle. Put the drama down - it gets you nowhere good. Those short bouts of sobbing are when reality is hitting her. She goes back and forth between thinking this will go away, and realizing it very well probably won't. Instead of controlling herself and her emotions, she lashed out, and it put her in that room instead of being home, clean, with her dogs.

Just seems like to me the detectives are trying to feed a narrative of Christian being abusive to her. At one point he says was he hitting you, yelling at you. Those are leading questions, if it is an organic confession, things like that will come out.
1. They want her to confess that she stabbed him. 2. They want her to say that she was in his proximity and not that she threw the knife at him or something else. 3. The evidence will show up and if she was or not was the victim will decide if she’s guilty or not.

This wasn’t an interrogation, this was collecting the guilt parties version. With everything that happened they let a lot of questions go unanswered, almost felt like they treated her as the victim rather then the assailant🤔 while she went away to rehab or whatever it was his family was not able to grieve because they had to fight to get justice for their son which is sad. I pray his family finds peace and healing going forward!

I'm so glad she waived her right to remain silent and/or get an attorney. Without this interview, and with him dead, she would say that he attacked her and she stabbed him in self defense and everyone would believe it. No one is believing that story that she threw the knife from 10 feet away. The evidence will show that she clearly had the knife in her hand and stabbed him. All of these lies will hopefully be her undoing.

Just seems like to me the detectives are trying to feed a narrative of Christian being abusive to her. At one point he says was he hitting you, yelling at you. Those are leading questions, if it is an organic confession, things like that will come out.
Cops often frame the suspect as the victim because that keeps ‘em talkin!

1. They want her to confess that she stabbed him.
2. They want her to say that she was in his proximity and not that she threw the knife at him or something else.
3. The evidence will show up and if she was or not was the victim will decide if she’s guilty or not.
I have a feeling they did that for court purposes, that way when she’s in court she can’t use that as a defense! They tried and tried to get her to use that defense and she didn’t take the bait and she has numerous opportunities to use that as a defense.
If she feels like they're on her side, she'll keep talking without a lawyer.
