@Vee Cee Wrong son. If you knew anything about Gurkhas, you would not have identified the apparent contradictory figure of speech in the first place. I know the English language, lad - but the only firm grasp you have is of your glans!! 😘👍
Brought back many happy memories...My father served from 1932 to 1972..gunner/para...when we were stationed in Aldershot..we were the luckiest kids to have them..kind and caring and wonderful childrens parties...I went to Nepal when I grew up and I look back with such fondest of the people..thank you for this..!
From the hills of Nepal to becoming one of the world's most professional soldiers. They have a very proud tradition of soldiering. Much respect to the Gurkhas from the USA!
Such perfectionists humble loyal and I am glad they are with us. My father was a WWII veteran and always spoke about how they were like a black panther you never saw them until the last minute as they were so stealth and silent. I am just proud for them and their families. Thank you as always. Sadly my father has now passed away but he out lived hitler at the age of 90.

I have the greatest respect and thanks for these lads who willingly come to fight for our flag. Their presentation and attitude is impeccable. Best of luck to them all!
This is absolutely incredible. I wonder if the increase in intake is also due to Covid and therefore more of them are looking to go into military careers because of loss of jobs in their hometowns!? Either way this is a wonderful sight to behold and absolutely wish every last one of the recruits the best of luck in the Gurkha regiment.
I don't think it's because of covid. Nepal has no jobs that pay as good as joining the British Gurkhas. There are more than 10,000 applicants every year.
I am very proud to see them become part of the British army. You Honour our country. I mean OUR as I hope you feel apart of it and this brilliant tradition/friendship. Thank you.
It’s so heartbreaking to see young and brave leaving their home country and risk their own life for others...hope there will be something to do in our own homeland and won’t leave other country..
Wang Tamang China advanced their forces into Nepali territory and are gradual advancing their border with their salami slice strategy where they take up other nations land little by little. After that, if the country retaliates, China leaves out their actions and blames and accuses the country like they did with India, calling them aggressors.
A shame their government,Nepali Communist Party, allows China to do that because they owe money to china. Perhaps the Gurkhas should show those neo-colonists that they need to learn to respect other country’s borders.
India ma basne haru Gorkhali hudain. Eso aafno hostory bujhnu. India ma basne nepali bolne haru gorkhali hoina britian le nepal bata lageko labours ho.
We got a gorkha regiment in Europe, in Singapur, in India, now we just need a gorkha regiment in either American 🇺🇸 or Canadian army and nepelese strength will be recognized in every corner of this planet. As an Canadian Cadet, from what I know so far, if the queens of England agrees than gorkha platoon can be created in a a matter of hours. Jay Nepal 🇳🇵
The Gurkhas make up a large part of the Indian Army and many of them originate from India. Nepal opted not to join the Indian Union after Indian independence in 1947 and instead became a sovereign country. Hindi and Nepalese are basically the same language with just a few words that are different.
They mean it. In Nepal there is a large Gurkha organisation that administers their, Pensions, medical needs and runs home for elderly Gurkhas and their wives, building and water projects to the villages etc. Yes, it was a disgrace that these boys were not paid the same or allowed but that as now been put right.
The UK has for nearly 200 years recruited these wonderful soldiers into the British Army. The Gurkhas are not mercenaries and for the most part of their history have formed regular army formations and have served with great distinction throughout. Successive UK governments have not always been completely fair with these proud peoples and have not automatically granted UK citizenship with those who served, at the end of their engagement. It is true that many after their 22 years have had to retire back to Nepal where many have lived in poverty and had to rely on charties like the Gurkha Welfare Trust to survive. Yet depite all of the hardships young men from Nepal still want to serve the UK as tens of thousands of their forefathers have. Why, not for money but for respect. Yes it may be so that the remuneration they receive from the UK in respect of salaries etc. is far more than they would earn if they remained in Nepal, is a good incentive to join the British Army, however it is the esprit de corps that motivates the vast majority of them. Throughout their servce, the turnout and bearing of any Gurkha unit is always first class, should anyone have witnessed any parade in which the Gurkhas took part could not have failed to notice that despite their small stature, their chests often full of medals, always smart in their uniforms, they always stood proud, proud to serve.........................
The Gurkha with the maroon lid on I presume he is going to 16 AAS or 13 AAS. I presume he hasn't done P company so is he attached arms or has he passed P company
Never challenge a Gurkha, to a fight. They will do everything they can not to throw the first punch because of the way they are trained to respect people, but if you make the first move and try to hurt them, all bets are off, it's going to hurt and you will remember it for the rest of your life.
From an English man who lives under you Protection, THANK YOU ALL 🇬🇧❤️🇳🇵XX

I'm very lucky to be a Brit and to be protected by warriors such as these. Good luck to them in their careers. May their service be long and happy.
I mean if there was a war right now they would not hesitate to fight to their death, no question asked, it's in their history and bloodline too.

It is due to raging poverty in their home of Nepal and Britain’s custom of hiring poor foreigners to fight its battles.
