Agreed, seems like the government as a byproduct of agricultural/pastoral revolution will always be in need for more consumers, wage-slaves and cannon fodder regardless of ideologies such as antinatalism based on consent and inherent optimism bias.
As a Jungian Depth-psychoherapist I fully support Bookchin's observations. Most of my therapeutic private practice was helping people find their identity, or as Jung would put it, their True Self. Only then does life truly begin.

De Campo -- you seem not to know what you are talking about. having a healthy and integrated core self with healthy boundaries and good critical thinking skills, being a person who can assimilate new information, is resilient and can adapt and reconstruct new material/reality check, and is not threatened by new information is different than a shattered and fractionalized self or lack of core self, IOW, someone who would be drawn to identity culture because they are not secure within themselves and are prone to paranoia and easy manipulation by others, such as fads and trends, or personality culture.
