Oh, also, you'd enjoy a Tim original "Snowglobe". Some wanna call it a Christmas song, but it's not, at all. And, you definitely need to check out Tim's solo work on his yt channel. He's released "come go with me", "in my room", "will you still love me tomorrow/Stay", "why do fools fall in love", & "since I don't have you". He made a whole album with him singing all the parts. But these are the only videos so far. It's all doo-wop songs from the 50s & 60s. & it's glorious 🙌 ❤
I recommend Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay by Tim solo next. Great mashup, really shows his entire range to perfection. Great reaction to this one.
The guys chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer. Just proves their lack of having a female in the group is no detriment--they just let their profundo BASS handle it! 🤣 LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. (The addition of Chance and his lower range to the group has freed Tim up to showcase his amazing 5-octave range a lot more!) Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree
Yodels? If you want yodels watch their versions of "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" and "All About The Bass" thats when Austin really yodels! Lol I love the pop chords they do in this one. Sounds perfect! One thing alot of reactors miss is the sound of claps. If you watch it again and watch Adam close, at the moment of the claps, he is doing something, but not a clap. Most people miss it. Once I spotted it, I watch for it every time and it gets me every time. I still think he is a magician.
It still boggles my mind that Home Free is not a household name. I am not a fan of Pentatonix at all, yet they are the famous acapella group. I am always put off by their individual showboating. That is probably a style judgement as opposed to ability but that’s the way they strike me. Voice Play is absolutely terrific, and some of my very favorite dramatic acapella songs are from them, but after a while it’s enough until the next time. Home Free are one of the handful of groups/bands that I can listen to all day, every day and never get tired of what they are singing and how they are singing. I should add PLAYING to that litany because Home Free is so good I constantly forget they aren’t playing instruments!
The addition of Chance and his bass voice allows Tim to show his complete range ... it also gives the group a richer sound IMHO ! These guys are all uniquely talented but together their harmony is simply glorious !
This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.
"He's soaring. I didn't know Tim had that in his bag." Tenor Tim is actually why we wanted you to wait. Now you can go to any of Tim's solo work, and not have Mayday spoiled. And Chance was a surprise to many here too. This is top three in my HF songs. It's a great song, and they are just doing such great jobs individually and as a group. Lovely harmony. Killer percussion, and I like the stomps too. Thanks for jumping on this.
@toci4553 Tim's 2nd solo album is 50's and 60's doo wop, and he gives Frankie Valli a run. My absolute favorite though is a cover of "My Maria", Tim and Austin did with frequent collaborators Chris Chatham (tenor & guitar), Sebastien Douyon (keys) and Tim's BIL, Christopher Marion(bass). If you like BW Stevensen's original or the Brooks & Dunn version of "My Maria", this is a fun version too.
I saw them interviewed by Cam before a CMA Awards show. They teased her, telling her to watch their soon to be released video - without telling her it was her song Mayday. 😅
My two favorite Home Free songs, " Blue Ain't Your Color " and this one. The first time I heard Tim sing something other than bass was in this song. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.
I actually have a reaction to that song but TH-cam wouldn’t let me upload it on here so I just put it up on my patreon, but you’re right that song is amazing !
This is gonna be fuuuuuuunnnn to watch😁❤ Yup, it was fun!!! Thank you for respecting the guidance from us Home Fries. Believe me, we get so much enjoyment watching reactors when they 'get' it. And yes I think you are the quickest one to react to Mayday! Thank you for such an enjoyable reaction❤ 'Catch Me If You Can' is a fave of mine, very catchy tune and Adam's beatboxing is top notch.
T - This one took the Home Fries by surprise, too. We kept cheering for Tim to hit lower and lower notes as HF released new videos, and then............they threw this giant curve ball at us! This performance is delightful in several ways, but the final burst of flavor comes when you listen to Cam perform the original ( th-cam.com/video/eRrCMEXPjWo/w-d-xo.html ). Then, you realize that HF performed it in the same key...with the group's basso profondo taking the lead!!
Yes, the old switcheroo! I’m glad you noticed Tim singing the tenor part. When some reactors watch this too early they say nice tenor singer and we have to say no, Tim’s the bass, not a tenor! And then Chance was doing the bass although he’s certainly capable since he was a bass in his first group. It’s a fun song and they all do a great job with it. Love it!! Good one Toci and I subscribed!!!😍😄
Enjoyed your reaction and yes, I think you were more ready than most. Next up: Brother - a great cover that you will need to watch twice during your reaction. Once for the hilarity of the video and then rewind and react to the lyrics and musicality. We Home Fries will be here for it! #HomeFree never disappoints!
Oh yeah! We checked out all about that bass by them already and it was a great watch ! I loved seeing all the guys having fun! We even watched the bloopers ! 😂❤️
My absolute favorite from Home Free. Until I hear “When A Man Loves A Woman” again. And then I hear "Colder Weather" again and that's my absolute favorite, until I hear "Mayday" again. And so on...🤪
Definitely a terrific reaction! It is generally a good idea to wait on this one so one can appreciate Tim's high range and Chance's low - and you enjoyed both - but the whole song is really fabulous. Really enjoying your work 😊
You haven't done one of their 5 part harmony songs yet. This is where they really shine. Actually, my favorite is Auld Lang Syne, but there's so many great ones. I Can't Outrun You, Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, My Country Tis of Thee...just to name a few. I'm loving all of your reactions! ❤
Great reaction. This is a cover of the song by Cam, a female country singer. And for fun they sing in the same key as she did. For some real yodeling from Austin, check out "All About That Bass" and "Thank God I'm A Country Boy".
Next? Whatever grabs you. "Folsom Prison Blues" "All About That Bass" 2014 video for "Champagne Taste" "My Church" "Brother" Or "Elvira" to celebrate Oakridge Boys firecracker Joe Bonsall who departed us recently.
You're definitely the quickest reactor to be ready for this. 😂 no, Austin's not yodeling, it's just a vocal flip. If you do want yodeling, check out "Thank God I'm a country boy". You'll love it! ❤ it's 1 of mine & my son's faves! 🥰
@toci4553 no worries. So many ppl do. In their cover of "all about that bass" so many say Austin's yodeling, but no. Although it's a Lil yodel tease. Lol. But he goes full on in "Thank God I'm a country boy". The video is hilarious 😂🥰
Ive been waiting for it lol im so glad you got familiar to the fellas before you tackled this!! I remember the first time it was released and i listened to it my mouth his the floor!! You have done great. But a few of my faves you haven't gotten to yet. Their Best arrangement; Do You Hear What I Hear - Best solo; When A Man Loves aa Woman, Best Original; Snow Globe - Some other faves: One Man Band, Colder Weather, Bless this Broken Road.
What a lot of people miss is that Chance carried the bass through the whole song, Tim had a couple bass solos but otherwise sang the song up with the tenors through the rest of the song.

The video is set on the Wright State University campus near Dayton, OH, which is where my older child went for undergrad (and who recognized the "pig" building in the background LOL). That makes this even more of a favorite. I think you'd like it!
Now that you've seen Mayday you need to watch "Mayday Live": th-cam.com/video/dAuHwCq-VoI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VL67gMLhdp_sf8Yx. If the studio video surprised you, the live concert video (by an audience member) will blow your mind! Austin yodels in "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" and "The Butts Medley".

BTW - Austin DOES yodel in “All About That Bass” .. and that one’s full of their antics -- with the extreme musicianship you’re already accustomed to.
