Children are way to often abused or worse by people of no blood relation to them, specifically significant others of one of the birth parents. I wouldn't have another man around my child who refuses to meet my ex husband, father of my child, nor would I be ok with my child being around a new partner of my ex's that I'm not allowed to meet. That's a nasty situation that will lead nowhere good. Too many children these days lose their lives while in the care of people who don't truly care for the child.
