    This was a great video and it is good to know the details on how you did this. I remember the video when you made these beams and it is good to be reminded. I am still impressed that the Kioti could lift that log

      @@BuildALotAcres you might have mentioned else where. rough idea of horsepower and recommended attachments
      kudos to the bantles of log rite tools. it is a women owned and women run forestry tool business.
      kevin bantle is married to the boss lady. thehave childreen i might have meet them 20 years ago.
      kevin had a woodmizer portable band saw mill. his wooden cant hooks and peaveys (cant hooks with a point for leverage) kept breaking. he designed his own aluminum cant hooker. his design had been copied in steel by the Chinese and lower cost producers. the logic blue are aluminum powder coat. ane for electrical situations the handles are of non conductive fiberglass and made in the usa in vernon or tolland connecticut.
      thanks for the testimonial on a big log.and log rite tools.

    If you only have a couple long beams to mill up, this is where an Alaskan chainsaw mill comes in handy. If there is a local dealer for your sawmill, perhaps you could see if you could rent some bed extensions for your mill. In your particular setup, that may not work as you concrete pad for the mill would accommodate extra bed extensions.

      True. I have a friend with a 3120 Husky and Alaskan Mill. I may someday make my own extensions from 1/4” angle iron. Thanks for watching 🙏

    Get a $12 tachometer for the mill. My ear tells me you are running below the 3600rpm. I set mine at 3700 and keep it above 3400 under full load. I can't understand why WM doesn't provide one. Good vid bud.

      I’d check the Building Codes in your state. Most states require the lumber to be graded.

    I have the long extensions on the woodland mills Trust me it is much easier than your way. I can do u-p to 35 feet long

    Why not cut all 4 sides 1st then 180 it and cut the other 4 sides?

    • @BuildALotAcres
      @BuildALotAcres  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It would have been harder to line up the parallels

      @approots 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BuildALotAcres I think I see what you mean because the log sits level on the bunks as you did it. But the log could be rolled so the cut on the other end is level.
