    I bought this same kit on sale for $35 American off of Amazon about a month ago.. I needed to clean a set of Bosch 784 injectors to convert the from the Siemens/Deca single hole injectors on my 99 jeep TJ with 4.0 engine to the Bosch 4 hole.
    Here was my experience with the kit... The first thing I did after looking at the pigtail that was "supposed" to hook up to the injector (Yeah right!) was to go to my local pick a part and grab an EV6 and EV1 connector with a few inches of wire attached. I added 2 flat spade terminals on the end so that I could plug into the spades on the tester and do several different style injectors... Next, at first I had the same issues that you had with the injector shooting out and poor sealing to the can. I quickly realized that there is a sequence to making this work. Once you have your tester and injector hooked up and it set to the mode you want, you want to hold the injector in place by positioning it between your pointer and middle finger as you wrap your hand around the white applicator. Your thumb will at the top of the applicator in this position. Push the applicator straight down on top of the can of carb cleaner (I used Gunk brand and it was a perfect fit!) You will hear and feel it engage and pressurize the applicator as you continue to hold it pressed down on the can.. "You should here no noise and no cleaner should shoot out at this point. Now with it under pressure, look at the tip of the injector, if it is dripping it has a leaking pintel.. If no leaks.. Hit the start button on the tester and the injector will start to spray. I recommend mode #4 as it is a continuous spray pulse and will clean the injectors quickly without damage to the injector.
    This thing for the money was worth it for me... I've cleaned at least 30 injectors with this thing and its still going strong! Sorry for the long post but, hope this helps someone out there..👍

      In my view, there are all sorts of different types of injectors in cars, so it’ll be hard to make a machine that perfectly fits all, considering it’s a 40 bucks cleaner, so even if you have to do some adjustments, this cleaner works.

    I just bought this last night for my fuel injectors for my 98 mustang. They have never been cleaned over 20 years. So this a must for me right now. Plus I’m doing a whole engine job. Putting everything back together today.

      This tester/cleaner wasn't perfect but it got the job done for a reasonable price. It did, however, necessitate the use of some words that I don't usually include in my TH-cam vocabulary. But what the heck: I pull out all the stops to educate and entertain haha

    If you select mode 4, it is a continuous pulse, and you dont get the leaking like you're getting. Its not the device it is the user. Operator error..lol

    How's she goin'? This is a neat idea for testing injectors but I think it might need more work. I like how you stated it, "In a pinch this will do the job." Nice demo and a good review of the unit!! Take care!!!

      The weak link is the connection to the can. It would be better if the seller recommended or provided a can of solvent. Luckily, cleaning injectors this way isn't performed very often especially when "pour-in" products are available. I use LUCAS fuel injector cleaner and usually don't have any issues with stumbling or rough idle. This car sat for a few years so I thought to give it a better treatment. Summer is here...Enjoy! (we are waiting for another of your firepit videos).

    I would connect a hose and container and gravity feed a mix of petrol/diesel and injector cleaner. Or cobble together a pressurized container and tube feed.

    I think you where just not keeping the hole inline well sealed with pressure and not blanaced because i had zero issues with leaks on the can adapter plug.

    What did you use to cut the connections that attach to fuel injectors I’m working on a Volvo too and the connectors from the cleaning kit are too big ?

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used a pair of side-cutting pliers (some call them diagonal pliers), found at every part store. It does work well to make the terminal smaller. Good luck. What year-model Volvo do you have?

    Is it safe with a car battery. I’ve seen 9v battery’s just not a car battery hooked up to it…

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It runs on 12 volts DC and a car battery is what they recommend using, in fact, it arrives with battery clamps. Good luck! Let me know if I can be of assistance.

    Didn't it come with two adapters? Both with different hole sizes?

    • @EverydayProjects
      @EverydayProjects  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes it did with two different size can adapters and neither of them fit a regular can of injector cleaner (or any other solvent I hooked to it). Maybe there's a can that fits and minimizes leaks but I haven't found it. Thanks for commenting Derek. Have you thought of subscribing ? It's FREE
