I bought the Hori Fighting Stick because of your review on it. But then, I also bought the Qanba Titan because of the length of how far away the lever is from the buttons. And I love it so much because I feel like the standard is just too cramped up all together. I wish there would be a company that would make a fighting stick wherein you can adjust how far apart the lever is from the buttons. You could simply change where the lever is at and simply lock it in when you get your comfortable length.
Hello Mr@@JoystickNY I have a small problem and I don’t know how to fix it one of the buttons doesn’t react well so sometimes I drop a lot when I do combos I opened the joystick and I examined it but unfortunately I couldn’t figured out where the problem exactly is please can you give me some tips
Thank you for always making thorough reviews. Any new players who finds your channel are in good hands cause you've got some amazing content. Keep it up man 👌❤️
Yeah I really don't understand why Qanba isn't doing more research in the stick market, their competitor Hori and trying to do better. DIY builders are being very innovative right now and although some of them take a long time to ship and may ask for a higher asking price you get a product that has a lot of love and future proof ideas put into them. I feel like the Obisidian 1 was such a big hit for Qanba that they've become lazy and hoping that their brand will be enough for a purchase.
Just wanted to say I love your reviews, they are very thorough and you put a lot of love and work into them. Like you said, a lot of it is personal preference, and I actually really love the Titan's design, menu button placements, etc. Despite that, I have a lot of respect for your review process.
Thanks for your great review! I have been using the Titan for close to a year till I start to be missing inputs intermittently for diagonal left / up. I took the opportunity to go through your tutorial and I managed to mod my Titan with Sanwa silent lever and and buttons. Now my Titan feels more premium. :)
I actually bought this stick during evo, I was looking into the drone 2 but its too light and has barely enough rubber padding so it would slide around my legs when playing. I also loved the separation between stick and buttons as I am new to fighting sticks (controller player) and hate hitting my hands together. The trapezoidal shape allows me to rest my wrist around the stick more comfortably so I also welcomed that. I did not know about some features or issues of the stick tho like the stick spacing stuff which seems to be the biggest gripe. Hopefully since its the hot new Sanwa JLF stick I don't need to replace it anytime soon. I do wish it allowed for plate customization but matte black everything yo! I was also offered a used obsidian 1, but they wanted about 30% more than a new titan (it cost me 200) and its way too bulky for me lol so it felt more like a rip off than a deal
Absolutely loving the reviews, especially since you help address compatibility with korean levers. After this video, I’m quite glad i went with the hori alpha.
Great Video as always. I went with the HORI Alpha for PS5, and after modding it, I really like it. Was thinking of getting the Xbox version just to have two matching sticks, even though I don't need it. I already have the HORI Rap N for Xbox.
subscribing because you clearly put so much effort into this video. from the in depth review to even integrating graphics to better illustrate your criticism, your passion shines through!
It's worth noting that some levers allow you to swap mounting plates. I fitted my Victrix with a Qanba Gravity Silent Stick and had to swap the Gravity's plate with the JLF's plate in order to make it fit the case's mounting area-for some reason PDP thought it'd be a good idea to add JLF-sized notches to its case. If you get caught out there with a mismatch, definitely weigh all the options available to you before giving up.
Just got the Knee lever today and tried to put it in on the Qanba Titan & it does not fit. The bottom part would not fully close. Just letting you know so you could update this video. Thanks for all you do for the arcade community.
as someone who uses this one, I agree with the looks part, however I love the big space between stick and buttons so unless something cooler comes.out with that layout, I'll keep using it
2:07 LOL good pause. And yeah I agree, the top portion is too cluttered and unevenly spaced. But this is from the perspective of someone who's used to having the auxiliary buttons on the sides of the stick, not on the face of it.
I like the distance between the stick and buttons. In fact, if there were a good fight stick out there that had even more distance than this that would be great. But that probably doesn’t exist.
I purchased the Titan mainly because of its design and weight while it was on sale, and I absolutely love it. I just changed the ball top for a bat one. It is great for me because I don't mod my controllers, its default design works fine. I miss my Qanba Drone 1 though, I gave it away right before they discontinued it lol 😢😭
Very informative review.. now I know how it became worse.. hope this joysticks company will consider and listen to your point of views, this is a big help for the best of the their products sell.. thank you for making this video..
Another great review. Only channel to really try and delve into different levers that can be put in the arcade stick. At this point the only thing lacking is the input latency of the PCB the company used for the arcade stick.
i wish companies can give us more transparency on that too, i believe i can get into those later on, but i don think it will be as accurate if the companies them self test it
@@JoystickNY they probably won’t and it’s up to us consumers to force it. Because why would they use a high end brook fighting board PCB if they can get away with a cheap $5-$10 PCB. Sad part is, this is not seen by the naked eye & is only felt mostly by pro players but not kids who ask their parents for $200-$300 arcade stick for Xmas. But I think if you’re paying $150+ for an arcade stick, it should have a fast input and reliable quality. just my 2cents though. Not a lot of channels on TH-cam talk about an arcade’s stick PCB.
i’m glad if i ever just want to use a stick i have the original obsidian, this stuff they’re releasing is like the mayflash (good FIRST fightstick) but at a disjointed price.
Great and honest review! I also not fan of their new version and all black color get easy fingerprints beside it's Overpriced. I bought My first Qanba Drone 1 in 2019 since I first started it. Never regret anything of it and still using it when playing StreetFighter. Then this year 2023, I decided to get Qanba Obsidian 1, love LED and modified sucessfully with Korean Lever. I mostly use for Tekken 7 and soon Tekken 8. It's Still the Best decision that I ever made. I Don't care much of their Obsidian 2.
Great review bro I was looking into this stick because I have big hands and wanted more space from the buttons to the lever but I never liked sanwa parts I'm a hori guy so it's good to see a great review of stick thanks this video helped me out a lot bro
Qanba seem to becoming more and more "budget features at a mid level price" than "mid features at a budget price." How detachable cables aren't standard on sticks this size and price is crazy. Thanks for the review - quality stuff as usual.
Love your video. Getting insight a lot about arcade stick through your channel. Thank you. Could you please make a video about option select technique in street fighter 6 ?
Although my Stick of choice is my Victrix SF stick, super versatile & solid build, the Madcatz TE2+ has still not been beaten for use & modding. Could be why I still hang onto mine 🤔
never had a stick before, got one brand new for $85 on fb really happy so far, just ordered a bat top and am thinking about getting gravity's already lmao i dont even play any fgc any fire titan mods lmk
@@JoystickNY I also want to let you know I used to own an arcade stick from a 8bitdo Xbox the reason I returned it back because I didn’t like USB stick receiver door hinge. It was hard to open at times, and I had struggled with muscle memory. I have good luck. On my Xbox controller I was wondering is. Hori Xbox controller good I wonder if you have a video on it? And I did has a couple injuries due to the situation I wish they could have a button press to have it open easily without using your finger to open it that was the only downside about it but the arcade stick was very great. I am more comfortable on a pad and reason why it’s easier to assigned button mapping.
Nice review. You´re right. The Drone 1, Qanba Obsidian 1 and the Qanba Dragon were topnotch sticks in their pricerange, especially the buildquality on the Dragon, outstanding. I got it since nearly 5 years, and it was a journey to get one to europe/germany. The only issue i had, was 1 Open-Mechanic brokes, but i found a replacement. The latest 3 Qanba-Sticks are in my eyes pure trash for immense money. I´m very dissapointed. The designers of these 3 budgetplasticmonsters must be fired. The thing with the mounting plates is laughable too, and shows that they got no clue, insane. It seems like Qanba doesnt understand the market. Hopefully they watching and bring us at the end of the day a new outstanding Dragon 2.
it's a shame qanba seems to be in a funk at the moment with its latest sticks, hopefully they take the time to check out reviews like yours to see what they can improve on for the next generation of sticks also 2:07 had me dead lmaoo
As a complete beginner in fg genre I am going for arcade stick rather than hitbox because of pure classiness and fun. Still i find this to be really high price when i can build a custom fightstick with sanwa parts for 100$
Had to revisit bro because Tekken 8 came out. I'm still rocking the Mayflash F300 Elite and it's still smooth but I had to pop back in to see what you've been cooking.
When using a fixed camera position on a still shot, use manual focus and set the focus point yourself, so the camera will not go stupid trying to autofocus all the time, for no reason because you wave your hands in front of it.
Another great video! Speaking of another stick, are you planing on reviewing the NACON Daija Arcade stick? I havent seen much coverage on it but it looks interesting specially for modding.
I think I might like the distance between the lever and the buttons on the Titan, but I think my next stick will be the Hori Alpha because of the swappable artwork and easier access to the inside. Maybe if the Titan gets a massive discount.
i personally like how the lever and the buttons placed further apart, because of how i use arcade sticks. also do you happen to have any guide about input lags?
your videos help immensely as someone getting into arcade sticks. I currently have a mayflash f500 elite that im using for ps4 and switch but im considering exchanging it for a hori alpha. i play sf6 on the ps4 and shmups/arcade games on the switch. I play on the switch more.
I just got the Hori Alpha and been using it for 2 weeks now! Absolutely love it and you won’t be disappointed. You gotta get used to the Hayabusa buttons though if you have no experience with it. Compared to the Sanwa on your Mayflash, them Hayabusa’s be TOO RESPONSIVE FOR ME (personal opinion). Had to change them to Sanwa’s but kept the lever Hayabusa since I like it more.
Thank you for the review, very interesting. Disappointing on the lever mounting issues. The inside of my Mayflash F500 v2 has that similar style of mount to this, would have expected more from a 'premium' brand like Qanba.
@@JoystickNY I've found a video tutorial in Mayflash official channel th-cam.com/video/KB-_-7hIUUk/w-d-xo.html It explains step by step the process to replace the standard lever by a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT lever for a Mayflash F500 V2. I'm not an expert but I would say it seems that all supported levers for Mayflash F300 (I saw your video before :)) should work for Mayflash F500 V2 and Mayflash F500 elite too. This makes sense because it's completely logic that both Mayflash F500 V2 and F500 Elite fit at least the same levers than the Mayflash F300. So, I guess the Seimitsu LS-32-01 lever would perfectly fit to the Mayflash F500 V2. And I assume the same for Mayflash F500 Elite.
Whats missing here is the delay. Testing delay of the USB encoder is critical for a fight / arcade stick, it can vary wildly between sticks & we need to know before making a decision to buy.
great input, i dont have the software or equipments yet, someday i wish i could get into the datas. and.i also wish companies can be more transparent on the numbers too
What would you recommend for mid and high level sticks/leverless sticks? Also I have xbox SX and PC but want something to use at tournmanets which are often setup on PS - any recommendations for those situations? Great channel, I've been watching for many years!
really appreciate you, if you are not in a hurry, i would say wait, its still early, i bet u when tekken 8 and league of legend games comes out, every company is gonna jump in the controller / stick market
@@JoystickNY cheers. Good advice. I'll see how much longer I can wait 😅 got my eye on a Furin Arcade. I'll see if what the major manufacturers will bring.
I'm looking to get an entry level stick but wouldn't mind getting something a little more expensive to have the option to customize. For me fighting games is a nostalgia thing. Just to be able to play on an arcade stick like I used to in my youth. Is the Qanba Drone 1 still a good option or should I get something else to be able to customize later if I desire to?
Hello, i want to know what is the best arcade stick i can use to play tekken, i need a very stiff arcade stick but idk what to buy, i used to play on old neogeo machines which were very stiff so i think i need a rubber instead of springs, can you help me with that ?
I have one question... which arcade stick would you recommend between a hori rap 4 and the qanba drone 2 for a time user of arcade stick. i would use it on ps5 for tekken 8 ? i want to give a try to the arcade stick and dont know what to buy ... btw love your work
@@JoystickNY in my country i cant find nowhere fightsticks... only from amazon and other sites but the shipping would be as much as the fight stick... i found a hori rap 4 for about the equivalent of 80 dollars at someone that says he hasn t used it only opened the box... and i found the qanba drone 2 on their oficial site for about 150 dollars and i dont really know what to do...
dang, that's a shame about the mounting layout. i appreciate you taking that into consideration, especially since im looking into getting an ls-32 for my hori alpha. i know the ls-32 has two different mounting plates it can come with, & heard the SS plate is the one that fits with the alpha, rather than the SE plate. do you know if using the other plate would have made a difference here?
Thanks for your detailed review!!!! Yeah ima pass and would rather go the obsidian 2 or find a good obsidian 1 or just get Victrix I don’t like the top row of buttons on this one. Good pointing that out. It’s weird how the buttons are sloppy and even invade on the PS button. I will pass on this one and stick with the Hori alpha for now.
It does look ugly but I love the distance between the stick and buttons. Are the buttons really sensitive?? I hate when I accidentally push it without meaning to. I'm look for a joystick right now..
225$ feels overpriced, well it costs 259€ here XD, I'm so tempted to get it because of the spread betweek stick and buttons (I'm left handed, we speend our live with our arms forcibly close to each other, like when using keyboard + mouse) but yeah, maybe I'll get a second hand one someday! Thanks for the review as always
"This time, on the Qanba Titan... it looks even worse."

That mounting plate problem is serious. It reminds me of old school sticks like the first 2 Real arcade pros and the old dreamcast stick.
they didnt put enough thoughts in to this one
It's not that serious. You can change mounting plates pretty easily. At worst you would have to just drill 4 holes.
@AmartharDrakestone yeah that's pretty much what I've always done.

mh if you buy the drone 2 and add sanwa parts then it costs almost the same like the titan wich is bigger what i prefer
your videos help immensely as someone getting into arcade sticks.
Had to change them to Sanwa’s but kept the lever Hayabusa since I like it more.
appreciate the love and support, i will keep going and hopefully help more players understand fighting games
haha i feel you, i love the hayabusa buttons tho @@mignuggetz ♥
@@JoystickNY Understandable. Your video on the Hori Alpha is the reason I got it haha. Your vids are amazing man. Don’t stop the joystick content!
Thank you for the review, very interesting. Disappointing on the lever mounting issues. The inside of my Mayflash F500 v2 has that similar style of mount to this, would have expected more from a 'premium' brand like Qanba.
I didnt know the mayflash 500 had that, i tried it on the may flash 300 it was normal. Good to know
@@JoystickNY I've found a video tutorial in Mayflash official channel th-cam.com/video/KB-_-7hIUUk/w-d-xo.html
It explains step by step the process to replace the standard lever by a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT lever for a Mayflash F500 V2.
I would recommend the Hori ps5 fightstick
Hey bro were I can buy joystick lever for nocon daija
Did you ever do a review on the Nacon Daija? I can't seem to find it on your page.
Its the next stick review 😊 i been messing around with it
@@JoystickNY Looking forward to it!
Hello,
i want to know what is the best arcade stick i can use to play tekken, i need a very stiff arcade stick but idk what to buy, i used to play on old neogeo machines which were very stiff so i think i need a rubber instead of springs, can you help me with that ?
I have one question... which arcade stick would you recommend between a hori rap 4 and the qanba drone 2 for a time user of arcade stick. i would use it on ps5 for tekken 8 ? i want to give a try to the arcade stick and dont know what to buy ... btw love your work
I prefer the hori rap4, but its discontinued, are u able to still buy it?
@@JoystickNY in my country i cant find nowhere fightsticks... only from amazon and other sites but the shipping would be as much as the fight stick... i found a hori rap 4 for about the equivalent of 80 dollars at someone that says he hasn t used it only opened the box... and i found the qanba drone 2 on their oficial site for about 150 dollars and i dont really know what to do...
dang, that's a shame about the mounting layout. i appreciate you taking that into consideration, especially since im looking into getting an ls-32 for my hori alpha. i know the ls-32 has two different mounting plates it can come with, & heard the SS plate is the one that fits with the alpha, rather than the SE plate. do you know if using the other plate would have made a difference here?
for the alpha i believe is the height, on the titan, if the other one is also like a diagonal hole, then it would not fit.
Can you review mayflash F500
Thanks for your detailed review!!!!
Yeah ima pass and would rather go the obsidian 2 or find a good obsidian 1 or just get Victrix
I don’t like the top row of buttons on this one. Good pointing that out. It’s weird how the buttons are sloppy and even invade on the PS button. I will pass on this one and stick with the Hori alpha for now.
Great Vid!!
thank you
Can you put the knee lever in? I heard that knee lever it's 2mm thicker that the space
if i remember correctly i believe it fits, as it doesnt have the collar also
hi, i want to play tekken 8 on steam, do you have any recommendations for an arcade stick? I'm new and want to seriously explore Tekken 8
I’m just trying to find a good arcade stick that can easily mod with an octagonal gate. Is the titan good for that or should I look somewhere else
Titan is excellent, is a tournament stick also, i just don like the design of it
Let's agree that having START & SELECT buttons be REAL ARCADE 24mm buttons is the way to go.
Did you get your hands on the obsidian 2? Is that worth it?
yup, should be next video
So it has just 2 Quanba buttons ?
Vs hori alpha?
It does look ugly but I love the distance between the stick and buttons. Are the buttons really sensitive?? I hate when I accidentally push it without meaning to. I'm look for a joystick right now..
I have that Qanba Obsidian 1. Definitely looks a lot better but really didn't like it that much. So right now I don't really care about look so much.
Thanks for the review as always
thank you for watching 🙏❤️
Which is the better stick, Titan or Obsidian 2
Obs2 but kinda pricey
Is it not possible to swap out the mounting plates?
u can but thats more work/cost on the customer end, they could have just used the standard measurement.
@@JoystickNY yup I totally understand, its inexcusable from Qanba honestly for the price they're charging
Yea, and i realized is 244 on amazon. With tax thats 265.
ill stick to my stock mayflash f300 cuz its blue 💙
it works like a charm
I still want a quanba pearl more than the titan also id expect quanba buttons installed for this price .
i feel you
If this stick was $150-$175 it’d be perfect. I actually like the cheap storage pocket. Seems like it’s fast to wrap up the cord.
True that, 150-175 would be nice
