It's so mind boggling to watch these old clips of theirs. It just shows these young men have maintained their core essence even after a decade, despite the almost seemingly impossible ultra stardom.
Namjoon , in his very 1st fan letter to ARMY, says his biggest fear is disappointing ARMYs n almost ten years down the line , in Festa dinner , while explaining why they need to take a break from group music, he repeated precisely the same thing...that he is scared of disappointing ARMYs. 😔💔

The "diss interview" still get on my nerves but RM and Suga was so impressive. The subject was about the différence/or bridge between underground hip hop and Idols, but he was not expecting such an ambush , specially because some of those in attendance were his friends when he was undergound, but no one spoke up for him. RM was only 20 years old and some of those men were at least 10 years older! The way he reply to B Free " If that's how you feel about it then you can feel that way" shows how patient and smart he is. He was hurt but moved on from it, as he always do. He work hard, and solve this identity crisis between idol and artist. I’m so proud of RM. At such a young age, he could see the bigger picture and decided to accept the challenges that come with it. His goals were very clear to him -- bring out the artist in him by breaking in to the idol system and eventually challenge the system itself. (as Bang PD wanted them to do, as I said before when he created Big Hit, he openly stated he didn't like the system that the Idol industry had created and he wanted to do better. So BH let the boys have control over music, express their opinions, allowed them to talk about issues that many in SK society wouldn't. This mindset, added to the lack of fund and connections, made them an anomaly in the Kpop Industry) Besides the Cypher and others diss track using by the rapline to respond to the haters, and B-Free particularly , they have mostly proove by their work that BTS are undeniably artists & musicians. Eyeliner, jewellery or skirt they sometimes wear on stage back in time (mostly RM, Suga and J hope) could never change this fact. Hey man, rock stars in my youth all have heavy make up, very long hair and plateform shoes ! and so what ? I have a huge respect for RM as a person and as a leader. And I love to rewatch this série with you. How young they all looked, how hard they worked and how hungry they were for people to hear their music and relate to their words. Knowing how far they've come from those early years warm my heart. Irony of the history : B Free (who was not so free because he went to jail years after, it's call Karma) said to Suga "You thought you could change your outcome by becoming an idol?” And yes, they did. BTS didn’t just changed their lives, they literally built an empire out of a small company, break the rules in the K pop industry and changed the global music and pop culture just by doing what they love , with the most powerful and dedicated fandom that have ever exist.

1:04:22 You’re correct, they were all older. RM turned 19 just two months before and Suga was 20. Their diss tracks (especially early years) is in response to what these older underground hip-hop guys who try to discredit and belittle them (people they even looked up to before). About your earlier question about fans feeling sorry for BTS, it’s just they worked so dang hard but get all negativity and hate (looked down on), but also the unfairness and disadvantages these guys have from not being from big/affluent companies (aka the “big 3”). In a way, they were like an indie band if you were to compare to big companies that can throw money behind the promotion of their groups. There’s a song (released few years later) called Baepsae (but in English, they titled it Silver Spoon). From what I heard, some have called or referred to them as dirt spoon (I assume in comparison with others who are higher) because they didn’t have much money. There are nine classes starting with diamond spoon being the top, but silver spoon is 4th which is still rich (the song was referring to their generation were at a disadvantaged to the privileged of those born with a silver spoon in their mouth). Dirt spoon is the 9th in that. Their song Mic Drop (2017), j-hope referenced that in his verse. Anyway, I think there are things said to them that we see in the open but I wonder if there are things said that are not caught on camera and reported. You work so hard for this dream for years to debut and then all this negativity, but they focused and committed hard on the goal and be honest with army how they’re doing. The guys were real, they didn’t show that they are spotless idols. They reveal their thoughts and update army and kept focusing/giving positive energy. Oh, about the beginning where RM was being super hyped is more about him being extremely excited for the new album/comeback. So it’s not like that it’s his personality type, but the fact he was so hyped in that vlog, he was really happy/excited they get to continue to make music. They survived enough as BTS to put out another mini album and have another comeback. Some groups don’t make it to the next comeback after their first.

When you said it’s the saddest when you ever seen him [RM] made me a little bit said too, because they are still doing lives and few days ago RM did live and said “my life ain’t no fun but it’s still worth living and trying” he also look sad and tired and said he cries a lot nowadays, but he also said he is not depressed and we shouldn’t be worried and what I learned as their fan that we should take their words literally and totally believe them 😄 they are not always funny and optimistic , but are very honest with us and not afraid to show their true emotions 💙

Kpop in general does require the artists to constantly be churning out music, much more than the western industry but BTS being from such a small struggling company had to work 10 times as much and harder than the others because they were not getting a lot of radio play or tv coverage. They had to build a following without the conventional media coverage and that's what makes their success more impressive.

Abusive people definitely take advantage of the age hierarchy system in Korea. However, if honorable people use the system correctly, it's actually really cool and beautiful. For example, if there's a hyung (older brother of guys), he will give advice, pay for meals, and take care of the doengsangs (young guys). Jin is a great example, because he doesn't use his older age to bully the younger ones into fetching food or drinks for him. He cares for them and buys food for them. The age thing doesn't mean older people have the right to just demand stuff of the younger people, but unfortunately, bullies exist.

I've always said the make up argument is so stupid (and it's not just this case where BTS have been criticized for wearing make up). Every entertainer whether male or female wears make up. Just putting on foundation would be considered make up. I dare anyone to name a worldwide superstar who doesn't wear make up onstage or when they are filming, it's completely normal. People just think BTS wear too much but if you look at them completely bare faced you can actually see they don't wear a lot of make up, they just have gorgeous facial features that are brought out more when they wear make up.

BTS has always been so thankful and sincere to Armys. I think it was something that made them stand out compared to other Kpop groups (especially ones who were caught saying negative things about their fans, like calling them "ATMs" or whatever). Their genuine love for Armys and passion for things they believe in has always shone through.

Hi, I'm an army who can't speak English very well, but I want to answer your question as an army who's been here for 7 years.
BTS and army since I entered felt bad and worried about each other because BTS didn't have the resources to rise as fast as big agency groups, they looked down on them on shows, interviews, awards, etc. Army suffered a lot trying to make them feel better by sending them everything, such as clothes, appliances, cell phones, etc. so that they could survive and continue creating music, BTS felt very grateful and also a little disappointed because they wanted to give us the best of the best and sometimes their situation did not allow them, army believes in them and continued to support them, even korean and international fans joined (it never happens in korea usually international fans don't get along with koreans) A very beautiful family was created that grew over time and that is why BTS has always remained so authentic, they wanted to do the event where they read letters to their army's, also once they took many army's to the cinema as part of a promise they made us, etc. The hate and all the barriers they put on us were nothing because we were always together and fighting for our voices to be heard and represented by BTS.

I went to work directly after high school and had many arguments with my father when I declared that I wanted to start at junior college - study which would only cost the amount it took me to buy my books. My father argued that I would only get married and quit school, which in fact I did. I remained married for seven years. For the those years and ten more, I worked full time at various jobs while occasionally pursuing my education at night at junior colleges. When I was 34 I was working in international marketing at Apple Computer. I discovered that everyone else who was doing my job in US marketing was earning a THOUSAND dollars more a month than I. When I challenged this in Human Resources I was told that they all had college degrees and it wouldn’t be “fair” to them if I earned the same amount as they did. So I asked them if they indeed had college degrees and if so for what. Yes, they had degrees. One was qualified to teach kindergarten, one had been trained as a civil engineer and so on. Not ONE of them had degrees related to marketing. So I decided to quit, return to college and spend the next two years getting a college degree. With the clear knowledge that I needn’t have a degree related to any future job I might seek, I decided to take courses in something that held my interest. I majored in Sociology and minored in Women’s Studies and I graduated Phi Beta Kappa. I gotta tell you, returning to college when I was 34 was so much FUN! Although I wrote one heck of a lot of papers, I still felt like I was on vacation for those entire two years. No professor or course requirement could intimidate me. After finishing college at age 36 and until my retirement when I was 65, I never had a job in any way related to my education, but I did earn more money! I emphatically don’t believe that an “advanced” education insures that someone is better qualified to take on ANYTHING more than someone without a college degree who has a commitment or a passion for that same thing.

I think the "feeling sorry" thing it's because in korean culture, honor plays a big role so a lot of times is like "sorry for not be as honorable as I should" something like that. So yeah, it's a cultural thing, and for our western point of view when they translate as "feeling sorry" we often think like, sorry about what? But in korea or other eastern countries is just like that.
I hope that makes sense lol 🙃

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your side stories. It's always so interesting to see where a person's thoughts lead them when watching BTS content. Members share so much. We're incredibly lucky as a fandom that they vlogged and recorded behind the scenes from pre-debut forward. Always so sincere and relatable. Watching new fans start to feel connected is so cool. Don't they make you feel like it's really okay to show all your faults and struggles? Too many people feel life is like an IG filter and that they're alone in not being perfect and not having their crap together. I'm older and still feel so lost but Namjoon changed my thinking when he once said he really thinks life is about being lost. It's a beautiful and comforting view. Anyways, thanks for the video guys.💜

Listening to Septa talking about her joy at getting contacts causes me to remember my joy at getting my first glasses. Apparently I have a significant astigmatism which I have had since I was quite young. Through my entire years at school I NEVER caught ONE SINGLE ball tossed to me. In junior and senior high school I had to stand directly in front of the black board in order to take notes of what a teacher had written there. I FINALLY got glasses when I was 18!!! I remember as if it was yesterday, keeping in mind that I am now 73, my pure astonishment of how extraordinarily different the world was from what I previously had understood about it. However. When I was 23, I also received my first pair of contact lens. Heaven knows how I ABSOLUTELY cherished them!!! I would still be wearing contacts today if my sight did not require bifocals. So Septa, I completely relate to your joy!

I feel the fans and Bangtan felt sorry for each other because BTS was constantly getting a lot of hate, being mocked and a lot of unfair treatment for being in a small company so fans felt sorry because they couldn't really help them in a lot of things they were struggling and well.. BTS felt sorry for the fans because if you were a fan of BTS at that time you would get so much hate and being mock and everything too to the point some armys preferred to hide the fact they support Bangtan for fear. That's why Jungkook said: I want to become a singer that touch people with his voice, and to be a singer that people can proudly, and without hesitating, say "I'm a fan of Bangtan Sonyeondan" without being embarrassed. You're such an important existence to us, so I'm upset when you're sorry for us. I hope we can be thankful for each other. 🥺
Still, Army and Bangtan stayed strong and now we are beyond proud of being part of army and BTS is so proud of being Bangtan, sadly some people feel afraid to say they are armys because of stupid racist and xenophobic comments but hey! who cares? we know BTS since the beginning have been amazing, genuine, humble, funny and truly inspiring people and now they are finally getting the recognition and love they deserve, finally all their hard work and honesty paid off, so the ones who say and think those type of hateful and discriminatory things are the ones that really sucks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think fans felt sorry because BTS were reciving so much hate, they were criticized by rappers and artis they once admired, some old friends also criticized them for being an idol, the media was harsh mocking them and their name they were looked down. With this i'm not saying others groups didn’t have it hard but if you listed to people that knew them back then they know better. Also back in the day no other idol group was talking about society problems so the public didn’t like them( but they still have some funny and shallow songs just for fun). the reason why idols now can be more open in their lyrics and show their personalitys is because BTS did it first they are sincere.
*other companies have conducted studies on the success of BTS to reapply it to their groups and sell more.

This all interview is interesting, bc Suga and RM were very honest and did everything to show true self and true BTS to this people from "hip hop scene" and also show how they want to and plan to do things including hiphop. There were a part that isin't here that Suga is talking about their album songs and all that, that's their album is like most hip hop albums out there, and ask this ass** if he listen or looked in their album and this "man" says "no" and change topic bc like shit you say all this things about us our path music lyrics team and you didn't even heard one song. it was so ughhhhh, I'm reallly shooked they were so clam in that moment.... Suga also said that you don't see here that he hated make up and wearing it worried him at first but it is part of scene, of kpop, that he had to accept it and get use. (for your info he stoped give a f* very soon, I think this first year this was all new experiences, etc, make up was part of new things for them. but then you know he come from underground so before BTS and Big hit and debute, all people he was around were thinking like that- like ideol are less, etc, he even said that as he come to company and started as traine he discover that idol do more and work 5 times more then this all rappers that talk so much shit about kpop, he was really hit with reality and that he is sorry that this stereotyp is so deep in people, he lerned and knew better but people don't want to lern and say the things that they hear and circle start again)

Ohhhh!!! Thank you for sharing. Those rappers didn’t actually want to have a conversation at all. They had their ears closed and their mouths flying. Thank you, to both of you, Aneesa's series is phenomenal! I enjoy your mindset too. In the olden days I was mildly into metal music, but a lot less now. But I sill like what I think of as the impetus and energy behind metal - I think it's the desire to challenge established "norms".To be honest, THAT is what I think "youth" is for.
I love that BTS' roots were in that desire to challenge society and all that society took for granted and demanded from young people. The fact is that the society demands a lot from anyone - especially if you have low status ... it seems impossible to challenge it.
But when you spoke to us about older people expecting respect and yet behaving like children hit home. It occurs to me that there is a world of difference between achieving respect and expecctnig respect. People who expect respect seem to be invested in abusing the respect that they demand or take for granted. That's true whether they are older or have money or status, in Korea a high level of abuse by such people is taken for granted. Needs to change, but that will be VERY hard and painful.

I think the true ARMY felt sorry for them during this time and even now for getting so much hate and will criticise them everything in a negative way. And in true form RM and SUGA will take them all through their music. These boys really love their fans and sometimes it was so sad to go back and see the beginning of BTS without seeing all of these struggles. They have proved themselves to the world as one of the best artists in the music industry right now. I love your input to all the BTS reactions and so glad to go back memory lane with you as a new ARMY. 💜😊

I always really enjoy your videos, the discussions feel like ones I’d have with a friend. I don’t get the wanting other people to suffer mindset either. It’s incredible that bangtan could be vulnerable in public, it’s so hard.
Kpop often puts content out at such an (tbh unsustainable) speed/pace. I feel like which might be a factor in some idols being more performers than creatives.

RM actually struggled with depression a lot. He discusses it in his personal work and some of the songs and lyrics of Bts. I think RM is actually the deepest member of Bts. He has a lot of internal struggles. It's part of why Armys resonate so deeply with Bts and we consider them the Voice of our Generation. RM has been able to express things all of us feel deep inside. He has also found a way to comfort us and give us hope. The song Reflection is perhaps one of the best examples of all of this, including the fanchants Armys added. I would say, we love their title tracks or hype tracks, but we become the hardcore committed Armys that we are because of songs like Reflection, Tomorrow, Dead Leaves, The Truth Untold, and so on.

hello hello! im feeling pretty down tonight, usually the day after i drink my mood goes down a lot and i get more weepy and anxious haha rip :( i thought it was a blessing that no matter how much i drink i never get hungover then realized that it impacts my emotions really badly instead and thats so much worse than physical pain o.o crazy highs then crazy lows are hard to handle.
but watching with you guys has helped! yall are so sweet that you can't help but feel your mood get better ^_^ hehe
im only halfway through the reaction so imma get back. thank you guys so much for all your hard work we really appreciate it!! take care!!!! stay safe and healthy! prioritise health always! 💖
ah i wanted to add that since trob might not be exploring in detail their stuff after 2019 (afaik, im not sure tho!) id recommend watching their festa dinners from 2018-2022 too over you get to that point in their timeline. whether it's through a reaction or in your own time, if you're interested of course. theyre always so transparent with the fans about their thoughts and feelings of working in this industry and their steps forward as artists in those dinners. and they always have insightful things to say too. (also those dinners just show how much of a family they are) (i don't wanna pressure you guys to react to everything as there's just soo much content with bangtan, but wanted to mention that bangtan festa dinners are a great watch to get to know them too!)

now, add to this 2 wks to learn a dance, about 10hrs a day, 6 days a week. Then you have to commit it to muscle memory, on your own and dance practice 5 hrs a day then more on your own, then you have to learn how and when to breath, so you can sing, and stay on pitch and they do all this with backing vocals and hot mics. That's just for ONE song.

When it comes to the pressures on younger people and the focus on studying, I think we also have to keep in mind that in the last 70 years Koreans have literally raised themselves from nothing. Being colonized and by Japan up until the end of WW2 and then being razed to the ground and divided in a proxy "civil" war between America and Russia. RM and other Korean commenters/reactors have said that where they are now is from their own hard work and determination and not from stealing from or using anyone else to get there. I'm not saying it isn't time to reevaluate the way forward, but considering where they are now, the focus in hard work and studying makes a lot of sense and isn't done maliciously or without reason.

Good reaction. Of course, take your time, there's 18+ more episodes to go, as you take your journey learning these guys' journey, through all their ups & downs ... which their journey is not done yet. And as much as they now have bigger successes, they still get constant smack from other idol fanbases, in addition to xenophobia from non-Asian countries. You also did learn a little more about South Korea, such as the education system in this episode. I see you have a Fall Out Boy hoodie. Note that RM collaborated with Fall Out Boy for the song "Champion" (remix) from 5 years ago.

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. All their songs are catchy, =0p . Love this series. I love the fact that all the members had vlogs. Everything is still on YT. Which means we can watch them. =0] Bang PD was really smart I think and had them all talk to fans on various social media platforms so their music could be heard by as many as possible. The company created Vlive and Weverse and had chats with Army too. So cool. They had a lot of roadblocks in Korea so all these social media sites helped them spread their music far & wide. Aneesa is the Army that created this series. She is actually a real editor so that is why it looks professionally made. @ReedReacts did an interview with her if u want to check that out on your own. It's really interesting to learn about other Army's and their dreams. =0] I love this series so much. Hugs. #YouAreEnough Have a good week! -2019 ARMY NY USA 💜

Great reaction! I’m glad to see the saltiness in full force about those naysayers trying to bring BTS down because idols aren’t considered as artists (and for them wearing makeup but literally anyone who performs will wear some makeup or another, even if it’s just for lighting purposes, so that’s not even a valid argument at this point. If you two wanna watch kind of a crack video that goes a bit into some more of their put-downs and how the boys came back from that, I would suggest “Karma is an ARMY”. I think one thing that's slightly annoying about what that guy said was specifically when he told RM hip-hop has a manly macho culture. Which isn't THAT true if you take into consideration that there are Female hip-hop artists and artists that are feminine. For example Megan Thee Stallion is a female hip-hop artist that doesn't own a pair of pants. All she wears is skirts and dresses and heels. A lot of the idea of hip-hop being manly and macho is just a reflection of how far stereotypes can be pushed.
In my opinion they should've said "tough". Cause that is what you have to be in that kind of environment.

    • @septasoareousrex
      @septasoareousrex  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

People felt sorry because 1) other fandoms/people arw mocking them for their name. I am not sure why, maybe by that time their names are bit corny, i guess? Because it also came from them at first they didn't like their group name, 2) they think being a fan of Bts was embarassing because bts was trying to hard to break the norm and nptions becoming a hiphop group and idol at the same time.

Do you both speak Japanese? V did such a good job with speaking Japanese. These boys are constantly pushing themselves to excel and I love that. Even now they are driven. I’ve watched both Hobi and RM’s recent lives and they are still hard on themselves. I’m an industry where idols sometimes aren’t considered artists, our boys definitely are. 💜

We do not speak Japanese. We know a very small amount and can understand some very basic Japanese, but we really want to work on it. We listen to Japanese music and watch a lot of anime which helps our understanding quite a bit💜 Septa has sang in Japanese! 💜🥰
Agreed they are so intelligent and hard working💜 true artists!!! 💜💜💜🦖

1:00:57 Up until now, whenever i watch this interview, I hated the interviewers as they mock BTS for wearing makeup and such.

We get claims and not strikes. Sorry if we misspoke lol we try not to get claims to see if it helps us with the algorithm 😁

@@septasoareousrex ... I have not heard of past reactors & concurrent other reactors getting any sort of issues at all with R.o.B, whether claims, strikes, blocks, etc. The automation bots are just odd how they work. One other reactor of BTS has also had issues reacting to certain videos that others have not had any problems with. Aneesa, creator of R.o.B, has done well blurring out stuff from the content she uses. If the content owner is monetizing your video via claim, I suppose that's mostly good since that's their content in the first place, borrowed by Aneesa, if that is what's going on here.

Actually if you start doing lives I suggest you to like stop the video and read the chat because honestly I dropped a lot of channels because of that they forgot what they are reacting to and only start reading the chats but if it's just a normal live of just talking and stuff yaay I'm excited

We will definitely just start with a chat kind of live💜 want to have a conversation with you guys in real time! 💜😄 we would be worried about not paying attention to either side enough if trying to live react to something. We would have to work up to that so we can balance it right for you guys💜💜💜😄
