In Portugal, armys , we were voting for the song "Seven" for a Top, which usually shows the songs on Sunday in that radio. This week, the song was removed from the vote, without us realizing why. A song that reached number one. Unfortunately, radio stations and even television, still seem to think that there is no audience for BTS or K-pop in my country. Which is a lie. 😥
I haven't listened to radio since I was a kid. I like to pick my own music. Radio should've disappeared long ago but the industry keeps it alive to try to influence general public's opinions and to get money through them via manipulation. I don't even like spotify because it always pushes songs I don't like on me because it thinks I'd like it when 90% of the time, I don't hahaha. Also, artists get fractions of pennies from radio and spotify. It just sucks.
Fans and I mean not just casual listeners are the one's the buy music, buy concert tickets buy merchandise. I feel for many artists as they end up owing their labels for all the 'media' play and if the media play doesn't get them brand endorsements they are going to owe their label and earn nothing from their hardwork.
So basically every major record label is stupid enough to leave a trail through texts and get caught. It's hilarious to me that after being in the music industry for 40ish years I've never dealt with anyone dumb enough to leave this kind of trails.
The texts were on one persons mobile a promoter who was working as the middleman between the music labels(companies) and the Radio Stations. It just took one person to get caught with the evidence on his mobile.
@@eileencritchley4630 I know it only takes one person to get caught with evidence. However it's too easy to get burner phones or even be smart enough to delete the texts. As I said it amazes me that a supposed professional gets caught so easily.
I just watched someone (sorry, can't even remember what or where) the other day that said something about this, mentioning an artist receiving over 10 thousand+ radio spins in one week, the highest ever, until Lizzo's about damn time received over 19 thousand+ radio spins a week
so... shade is show the dirty games that everyone knows? look at people who win grammys because their song went viral on tik tok. the industry is just a bad joke.
