my grand dad would tell me his great grand dad would tell of the early days of a new episode drop. the pubs were full of life and everyone in the town square would stop their daily farming and basket weaving to come and watch the boys sit and discuss world problems
they only started importing the show to ireland about 5 years ago 😢

Lane splitting is statistically proven to be safer than sitting in traffic for bikes. It’s done because bikes are small and cars pulling up to the light may not see them (especially larger trucks and semis) so it’s usually safer to sit in between the lanes where you’re less likely to get sandwiched
Yeah obviously none of them have much experience with motorbikes.
Thank you for this comment, I hated that none of them know the realities of being the rider in this situation. I’m convinced people only hate lane splitting because they feel they are being “skipped in line”.

I think maybe she made it catchy on purpose so she could maintain some semblance of relevance on the Internet. Kind of like how giving a nickname to a criminal makes them more famous. There's a certain twisted appeal to the notoriety you get from having a certain quirk that sets you apart from others. It allows you to receive even more attention than you would've anyway. But that's just my take on it.

First time I heard of Dextromethorphan, but the first thing I thought was: this sounds like a legal formulation of opioid... and guess what? I looked it up, and it sure is :D

There are a tonne of opioids which are basically 'hidden' by the big pharma companies using different names and ensuring they're as hard to find information on as possible.

Lane splitting is legal in CA, AZ and hopefully more to come. The law is to only do it in stopped traffic up to something like 20mph. It's a lot safer for the motorcyclist between cars than behind or ahead of them

I could never feel relaxed when I'm a passenger on a motorcycle. But sometimes it's the only option or most efficient way to travel. I've had my fair share of burns from the exhaust too😅

Lane filtering is when you go through the lanes at a stop light to the front and it is safer because you are less likely to get rear ended at a stop light.
i did aviation/space camp when i was younger and they did learning how to fly with a pro flight simulator for training professionals and after the 3days i feel like taking off and flying would is more easy mode of flying but then it jumps to expert mode when trying to land safely 100% of the time
I feel like it's 100% where you are Charlie. Here in Cali we go to the movies all the time. Tickets are 10-12 each. And we can get popcorn, 2 large drinks, some candy and a pizza for around $30.

Lane splitting and filtering are different things. Lane filtering is what you mostly described, sitting at a light and going between cars. This is safer than assuming other drivers can notice you. Lane splitting is when you go between cars that are moving and is much more dangerous.

33:01 That's actually much safer for the motorcycle rider. I'm not saying that's why they're doing it, they're probably just impatient and/or don't see why it bothers some drivers, but it is objectively safer to filter the lanes at a red light in dense traffic.
We get overlooked in the pack, and people pull out in front of us and merge right into us. In the front you're more noticeable, and you have more time and space to avoid a collision.
It's because it shatters their world view. Humans are resistant to change, especially when they CHOOSE a BOX to SIT in TRAFFIC with no way OUT. They get A/C, sip on a drink, and no left hand cramps (is what they should think and realize).

Jackson is entirely correct about the danger of driving, it's not about your own skill. You could be the best driver in the world, it only takes a split second for someone else to put you in a shitty position and it's all entirely out of your control beyond maybe a second or two of reaction time if you are lucky
my favorite recent motorcycle sighting was when leaving the grocery store. some guy rode by me on a bike while standing, helmet up at his forehead, one hand on the bike, the other hand had a lit cigarette. mans was living his best life ig lmao

Jackson, I could totally see myself riding a motorcycle but I'd be doing in in full body armor, like, I own a suit of riot gear and frankly I don't think that'd be enough and would need extra coverage and padding.
One of the active ingredients in night nurse is promethazine, which is a first gen antihistamine. This class of drugs is used to reduce symptoms of inflammatory and allergic reactions. One of the side effects of these drugs are sedation and mild pain relief. You should be able to get a prescription for one of these from your local doctors, since there is very little chance chemical dependence. Personally I use chlorphenamine, which is double useful when a stuffy nose and itchy throat prevents me from getting a good night's sleep.

I've had a broken jaw hen I was younger and it actually made my jawline seem smaller because the bones on both sides of my jaw were pushed in, I had warrants at the time and was deep into heroin and I never went to the hospital, my girl said when I'd sleep I'd grind my teeth and jaw and eventually it naturally realighned but my jaw looks smaller. TMI i know, but just a little insight on a broken jaw, it all depends on how it was broken and how it was fixed. I've been looking into getting it fixed now that I got my life on track and I'm a normal functioning human.

Andrew's take on motorbikes really hits home. My dad was a huge biker (still is, once a biker always a biker i suppose). He was confident on the road but not overconfident, he was aware, and since he's been driving for so long it was natural to assume nothing could ever happen to him. However AROUND THE CORNER from our home, some driver pulled out of their driveway without looking and he collided with the front bumper after barely being able to react to swerve a little (the doctor said he was an inch away from death, literally, had he not reacted). fast forward and he still loves bikes but promised us to never ride one again. One split second decision on someone's else's behalf nearly had a long-term impact on my Father's life and our family.

I love Andrew talking about Canada’s worst drivers, as a Canadian I have seen and known some truly terrible drivers, especially in my city which is designed terribly for cars. The show really shows the lack of self-awareness, hell, awareness drivers have on the road.

Didn't learn this until just recently, but I got my license in 2015 and it doesn't expire till like 2065, apparently that is not normal but that's how Arizona does it🤷♀️
