this was so helpful. i've had to do a couple renders with wireframe already in the past years, but this is by far the easiest and best method, especially if you have a lot of objects
Great tip!! I got it working at the first try because you explained it very well A question if that's ok, is there a way I can go back to normal rendering (without wireframe) any time or should I delete the override and freestyle settings
Thank you for the tutorial it was really helpful. I have only one question tho. For example when I render as Image. It is blurry. I don't know what I am missing...
Super Tutorial. There is one issue what I have had noticed. Option with adding different colour to the second mesh is not working. It is possible to have only one colour for all. Thanks!
Can someone help me with the rendering part I'm trying to render an animation with freestyle but the problem is the render time, single frame is taking around 1 min to render but the freestyle is taking over 10-11 mins to render/load with makes my total render time of 12 min per frame : ( By the way I'm rendering on my laptop GPU RTX 3050Ti 4GB VRAM so I don't know is it because of low VRAM or some render settings) Thank you and your tutorial was really helpful.
I currently have the same problem. Just a single render takes around 5 mins but the Freestyle Visibility computations takes over half an hour already and isnt finished yet D: Did you find a solution or workaround?
beautiful video, but I think I know a more simple way. just use solid view or wireframe view, adjust the look from the drop down menu and then hit viewport render image
really? oh no! I usually zoom only in the moments when nothing changes in the render! like with setting up the freestyle edge, cause you can't see the changes before you press render

this is awesome, thank you!
for anyone else who's stuck on how to mark the edges, make sure you're in edge select mode haha
thank you very much. im slowly getting into selling 3d models and this comment saved me a bit of hassle
Thank you so much :)
Oh, Great tip! Also glad you liked it!
I ALSO HAVE SAME PROBLEM
me! was like what why I cant see the option? then noticed I was on vertex select mode 😅
THANK YOU SO MUCH. A lot of tutorials were just viewport renders and not a final cycles render with lighting and shadows. This was super helpful!
I watch this video every time I finish a piece 😄
Great explanation! This is the only video that did explain why I couldn't find the override xD
You are a real nice and cool instructor! ✌ Such a clear and simple tutorial. Thank You! Subscribed! 🤠
Thank you, this was much easier than setting up a whole shader for it.
This is the best wireframe method I've found, thank you!
I was literally going to look for it and you popped up on my main page, perfect timing 😄
Thank you sooo much!! I always see this type of render on instagram and now i want to post this type of render too!
Thumbs up for hand gestures at the end
hehe! thanks for the thumbs up!
Jaw-droppingly good!
I was using Blender for a long time, I knew the material override but I didn't know that wireframe render trick :D
This is useful, thanks ;)
Wow, I just found out this trick after 2 years with Blender. It's very useful, Thank you
Happy to help!
Anyone who's testing this and want see the results faster then just set the render samples to 1 or 2 (or maybe 5).
Or 20.
Thank you so much for such a simple and straightforward tutorial!! Saved myself a ton of headache ♥
Wow, thank you!! I love 100% of this. Also, yay ghosts!
Hidden gem. Great results. Thank you :)
Clear and easy to follow, thanks!
Im still working through the tutorial but what a cute little game you guys made.
aww, thanks!

Thanks! This way is better than the built-in wireframe material.
Glad to help!
Your vids are very helpfull. Thanks! Btw, any plans to upload new vids? Its almost a year ago? :)

Thank you. An actually good tutorial that worked for me.
Great to hear!
Great tip!! I got it working at the first try because you explained it very well
A question if that's ok, is there a way I can go back to normal rendering (without wireframe) any time or should I delete the override and freestyle settings
Thank you so much. Your video was right on the point!

Thank you so much!
OMG U"RE SAVE MY LIFE!!
can you do this with a geometry node?
Great tutorial and editing Julie. Looking forward to the other games you both create
thank you pennant!

Gentlemen, we are gathered here again to learn more about Blender and 3D design ;)
Wow your tutorial is great. Thanks for these 😄
Great Job. Thank you.
great tutorial, thank you
very nice tutorial. this is helpful.
Thank you! I’m glad I could help ❤️
Doesn't work on objects that are visible through Backface Culling. Just in case anyone has that issue. Great video though
Thank you very much for the tutorial! It's great and helped me a lot :)
Thanks!
thank you, really good and helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing! But where have you gone?
Thank you thank you!
thank you so much! :3
U R GREAT :D
thanks a lot
I hope Blender made it easier just like in maya you can do it in 10 seconds, it will make demo a lot easier
THANK YOUUUU
Thank you so muchhh
cool one Julie.
Can you print the wireframe into the texture? Thanks
hmmm, i'm not sure! i should look into that :)
THANKS 🎉🎉
Amazing, thanks a lot
Glad you liked it!
Just discovered your channel, keep up with the good work! ^^
thank you! will do!
Not working on my scene and l don't know why :(
nice one 😘
How do I interact with Unity?
super bueno
Great video :) Thanks
beautiful video, but I think I know a more simple way. just use solid view or wireframe view, adjust the look from the drop down menu and then hit viewport render image
Thanks for the tip!
Nice.
Can someone explain the benefit of rendering clay? Its for ambient compositing blend or something?
just looks pretty :)
jk, it's just a good way to show your mesh for portfolio reasons, at least that's how I see it!
Is the point of material override just a quick way to change everything at once?
Yes! And after you can disable it all of your previous materials will still be applied the way they were before!
@@juliestrator I slightly recommend pinning this question and answer. Thank you for the tutorial
nice voice and art
Create plane.
Apply clay material to plane.
Select all objects in scene; make sure plane is active object.
ctrl+L
Link materials
good idea! the problem is that it doesn't work with multimaterial objects as far as I know. it only replaces the first material in the stack
I just watched the mrBeast stream where he donated to your channel, and I had to come and find you as you're super cute
came by the rooms
❤❤❤
More and more and more pls❤
will do!
And in blender 3.6 the material override function in layers is already gone! Aaaaaannnnd this tutorial is from now on obsolete
🤞BUTT🤞
ah yes, i understand this joke!
now i actually understand it
Can you stop zoom to pointer please cuz i can't catch difference of model/render :), it's pretty cool tutorial btw...
really? oh no! I usually zoom only in the moments when nothing changes in the render! like with setting up the freestyle edge, cause you can't see the changes before you press render
ohh so good then, i am newbie on blender 😅 thanks for your comments and sorry about that :)

Unfortunately, I can't focus on the left side of the screen, but I don't give up.
