Woodturning a birdhouse from oak off-cuts

Here I take three off-cuts of oak wood and turn them on the lathe into a birdhouse and my entry into Scoutcrafter's birdhouse challenge 2020.

Prior to the recording I had rounded the two smaller pieces and turned a tenon onto each. In what was going to be the centre section I also used a forstner bit to make the hole in the side while the blank was still square.
I start by making a small bowl with a stepped rim so that each piece will fit together nicely but not too tight so the wood still has room to move.
After shaping the bottom and middle sections the forstner bit came back out to hollow the body of the birdhouse. Then this piece was flipped and the top popped out.
Onto the lid, or roof. I wanted to leave an overhang so the rain would run off this piece and I know circular is the obvious choice but I really like turning squares, so square it was.
A little thinner on the top as per my original plan but you will see in the video that there is a big knot in the wood which went in deeper than I hoped for but I actually prefer it this way.
I'm still pondering how this will be hung, maybe a piece through the centre with a hook or a knotted rope basket, not the sure at this stage, let me know what you think.
