I thought they made it incredibly clear he wouldn’t be the final boss of endwalker as he was just a tool at that point, many more votes were on hydaelyn than zodiark for final boss or even zenos merged with one. The only scenario I could see zodiark being a final patch boss is if endwalker was 2 expansions and it was the final boss of part 1 which now that I think about it probably would have been better than what we got.

But I never bought into that "Hydaelyn is evil" stuff because that goes against literally everything we knew about the character even before we met Venat.
I've been waiting for YEARS for this theme. This FIGHT. Seeing Big Bang sends chills down my spine as FF4 was the game that got me into this series and still means so much to me. GOD they did this fight justice.

The fight itself is basically a better version of Zodiark in every way. Zeromus reshapes reality and everything changes, you even get debuffs similar to Neo Exdeath's. Zodiark just did a 🔄 of the stage.
This honestly sounded like music you would hear during a boss fight in Metroid, heck the whole boss looked like something out of that series to me, and it made me love the heck out of it. Like some giant Space Pirate that got horribly mutated and blown up from some experiment gone horrifically wrong, or right, knowing how those Space lunatics think, lol. But yeah, amazing fight, a banger of a soundtrack. A tier battle as always.
I am reminded of the best logbook scan from Prime 1 in which the Space Pirates tried to replicate the Morphing Ball, saw that whoever attempted it would get snapped in half and the researchers are just "...k, let's set that aside for now."
FF4/2NA was my first FF game and seeing Zeromus realized in 3d was a treat. I had no idea how they were gonna mltranslate his sprite to 3d, but it exceeded expectations
I was thinking this while doing this fight. It would definitely fit a Dark or Ghost Type Legendary Pokémon (Darkrai or Giratina). Jokes aside, this beat was just bopping 😁

My first every foray into the Final Fantasy world was FFIV. So, you can imagine how much I geeked out over Endwalker with the FFIV heavy elements. This fight, the music had me rocking. It brought back memories to the first time I took on Zemus and Zeromus. I can't thank Soken enough for the love he showed to the classic FF themes over the years. He did FFIV right with Endwalker.
Don't know if anything wrong happened with anyone else's Trial experience but my whole instance got some massive bugs where everyone was getting each other's buffs, passives, or abilities completely breaking because we couldn't finish them. Couldn't use Microcosmos or Swiftcast cause someone else in the party had it, melees couldn't use finishers cause healers had their combo buff. And this song just added to the total insanity of it. We cleared but it was such a wild experience lol.
Man..... The original FF4 theme for this fight was epic as a kid. Back when we first saw the moon in the first Rising seasonal event. When we finally met Yoshi and his staff along with all the Easter Eggs??? Bro..... All I could dream of was a FF4 crossover and the epic music from it. To think we'd get a fleshed out story of Cecil & Rosas world destroyed. A reunion with Golbez and these epic themes!!!! A lot of people have pooped on the Wndwalker post game, but these events completely make my old heart all warm. The games we grew up loving reborn again!!!!! My heart wheb phase 2 and the Red Wings Theme kicks in...... Oh boy.....
It's such a great homage to FFIV. Has parts that reminds me of Chrono Trigger too actually. I've loved every part of the FFIV story fitting into the FFXIV world. I had really been expecting Zero to be the Azem of the 13th, but after this patch, I can't help but wonder if maybe the original Golbez was based on the descriptions Durante gives.
It is very strongly implied that original Golbez was Azem of 13th. This is the first time we see Echo flashbacks in first person, with no voice in an otherwise voiced cutscene.
Final Fantasy 4 (2 in USA) was my absolute favorite. the whole Endwalker post MSQ story line has been so much fun for me. I was excited for this theme and the fight didn't disappoint either.
This fight was already amazing to begin with but this song is FIRE. Definitely made the experience more amazing for a boss that could destroy EVERYTHING.
I had PTSD when Big Bang went off and the backgruond changed, as it immediatley made me think of Grand Cross Delta from Neo Exdeath in Deltascape. Granted albeit I'm thankful this fight was a Execution Ex and not a Puzzle fight like 4th floor savage fights. I can't imagine the hell Zeromus would of been had its fight been put on par with like P4s P8s or P12s. But I can already imagine how a Ultimate would go with Zeromus
This was one of the first fights in a long time that made me feel hype. Endsinger was fun but...this was epic on so many levels. Managed to clear first time but that was through Covering our only healer on a sliver of health, then the two tanks being the last up at the last 2%...you could cut the tension with a knife. First time I saw "TANKS ADJUST!" In chat as well.
Agreed except the part about Endsinger being fun. Even on release that fight was a snoozefest compared to the SHB EXs. Even other expac final bosses, like Thordan and Shinryu, were way better. Heck, you can do Thordan Unreal right now and compare it to Endsinger EX MINE, and it's not even a contest... Dunno why they skimped out so badly on her fight.
Me and a friend were doing the patch together, she was a little bit ahead of me because of some things, but while I was still in Subterrae, I received two texts from her, which were "IMPOSTER", and "POKÉMON!?" Needless to say this does legit use the soundfont Pokémon Black & White did, or, instrument files or whatever idk music! Edit, 20/3/24: This, Rokkon, Aloalo, and Thaleia are all very, bittersweet now, considering the circumstances around them. I did them all with the aforementioned friend but, early December 2023 she kinda just, left my life. I still don't really know why she did, or why she changed so, drastically, but I do know that I'll treasure these instances and memories even with the pain attached to them now. Thank you for loving me, Evalyn, and showing me that it is possible for people to love me. I hope that wherever you are you're doing well and can deal with, whatever issues caused what happened to happen, and that you enjoy Pictomancer as well. -Vivi

I love how it's starts as generic orchestra, then in one second crumbles into the beautiful abomination. And intro fits cutscene perfectly. You are hearing the boss battle, you wait for your comrades to teleport, then music changes. And you feel the urgency.
Way back when, my brother and I would walk over to Blockbuster to rent FF4. Playing that game all the way thru, and seeing the final fight then (and hearing the tunes) was something I'll never forget. I had no idea that years and years later, I'd be revisiting that same fight and music. Once again, CBU3 crushes it!

DId you have a Dancer in your party? That bug has been showing up quite a bit and from what I could gather it might have to do with DNC's Tech Step

The parts from 0:58-1:10 gives Lavos final boss theme and I love it. Never get tired of this
I love how it's starts as generic orchestra, then in one second crumbles into the beautiful abomination. And intro fits cutscene perfectly. You are hearing the boss battle, you wait for your comrades to teleport, then music changes. And you feel the urgency.
This has a big 'Kirby' feel to it, and I absolutely love it.

Way back when, my brother and I would walk over to Blockbuster to rent FF4. Playing that game all the way thru, and seeing the final fight then (and hearing the tunes) was something I'll never forget.
I had no idea that years and years later, I'd be revisiting that same fight and music. Once again, CBU3 crushes it!
