In a world overpopulated with effluencers, we need more people like you providing intelligent, honest analysis and putting the joy of riding before tawdry commercialism. Welcome back.
Thanks for your comment.
I know a couple of the big hitting 'vloggers' on the south coast and at best I've found them disingenuous and at worst plain bullshitters who'd be driving saxos around an asda carpark if they couldn't ride a bike. Link pipe this, decat that, 160bhp not enough... blah blah blah
Glad you are here. I've enjoyed your videos and thoughts over the years. I even still rewatch your old reviews just because they are often great doses of motorcycle joy. Having just revisited your XSR900 vid I'm amazed one still hasn't found a way into your garage. Thanks for all of the energy you put into these videos.
I did wonder where you were. Here you are. Welcome back!
Never too far away. Follow your nose. Thanks for your comment.
welcome back, and about time.
Ha. I know!
Missed you man!
Cheers!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Well a jolly good honest rant....just upload when you feel like it sir ....atb
Thank you kindly
I'm glad you're back. Nick
Cheers.
Never had a motorcycle. Never will. Never had a great sense of balance. However, I do greatly enjoy your videos and often watch them over and over again, particularly the trials and most of all the Longest Day Up videos. I do long distance classic car runs with my daughter and we video the adventures we have and post them on TH-cam. Not for clicks, not for likes, not for comments but to share our experiences of what we witness in that sunset days of internal combustion as a record for future viewers to enjoy. The automotive world is changing, not necessarily for the better. Videos such as yours will always be appreciated for the content and the manner in which you use words to paint a picture of your experiences, make your journeys stand out from much of the dross that plagues TH-cam. What you do may appeal to somewhat of a niche group but it is much appreciated for the effort and the quality of the work you put in both visually and into the script writing that encapsulates the loneliness of the open road in the middle of the night and and warm glow of satisfaction, reaching that next checkpoint. Good to have you back sir.
Your comments are greatly appreciated. What is your channel? I would love to watch some of your stuff. Thanks a million.
@@DickWhistles Our channel is called Scotch Pie Hunters. A strange name that comes from our involvement and participation in Club Triumph's Round Britain Reliability Run that is held bi-annually. We don't have many subscibers or thousands of views but we make the videos for ourselves to promote the event and for our own enjoyment. And for a record of what Katy did with her old dad for the distant future when my long distance driving days are a thing of memory.
Nice. I’ll check it out!
Damn good to see you back
Refreshing!! Just subscribed. Finally real entertainment.
Thanks. Check out my other videos if so inclined.
Outstanding !
Cheers.
Good to see you back! More Long Distance Trials please........ Jus' sayin'..... 😉
On it!
@@DickWhistles 👌👏👍
I missed you. I've always thought your view on a motorbike was valuable information.
I appreciate that.
Come on Dick, I love all the rants in your bike reviews. Your review convinced me to get an SV650 over a Z650RS. No other reviewers out there mentioned how uncomfortable the Z650RS vibration is.
I realised last week there'd been no good honest whistling biker action for a good while so checked in to see if I'd missed notifications which obviously i hadn't so i assumed as a high flying man of international travel you were simply far too busy for this youtube malarkey atm which is fair enough. Good to hear your voice though, you have been missed, by some of us anyway so welcome back:)
Thanks for the comment. We have been travelling a lot, but mostly the malarkey kept me away. Lots of travel planned for the summer, but hopefully won’t interfere with posting more content.
Dick, I always viewed you as a casual acquaintance. I never thought of you as some kind of TH-cam guru. I really like the footage in this video. Make videos as you feel compelled.
Cheers.
👏🏽 bravo. Keep sharing the motorbike euphoria & zero-tolerance to the bs.
That's the plan!
OK, I’ll join in and say I’d missed you 🥹. I wondered where you were and what doing.. I’ve been past Rhug, and up to the Ponderosa a few times lately and wondered idly if you’d be there. Been up there twice on the Innova special, which might make you laugh if you ever clap eyes on it. Anyway, glad to hear you’re not pushing up daisies and still in the hallowed land of the Welsh. You just keep doing what you do, I’ll still be here when you publish any videos.. Les in Chester
Thanks for keeping a weather eye! Been travelling a lot lately. Will be away most of the summer, but hoping to be back Wales way end of August. Should we plan a ride/meet for then? Would love to meet up - especially to see the Innova! Maybe you’ll let me do a video on it… 😬
Thanks for the continued support.
@@DickWhistles a meet-up and or ride would be great! Not sure how we contact each other ‘in private’.. or perhaps we just do it on YT comment columns. I have no video on the Innova, but have an embarrassing number of photos of the process😊, but it’s still evolving. OK, enjoy your travels, hope the family is well. Catch you some time. Les
email dickwhistles at gmail dot com Feel free to drop me a line. I was suggesting that I do a video on the Innova for the channel if you’re game.
I'm in the market for a couple of new bikes and what should be an exciting fun process is actually frustrating and depressing for all of the reason you mention. Sad times.
Oh. Didn’t even get into cost!!!
That being said I defy anyone not to want the new Bonneville Elvis edition. I'll admit to being a little cynical of their collaborations in the past but that looks class. Well worth the extra lolly.
£15GRAND!?! For a paint job that says, “Elvis”!?! Fock off.
You were missed ...
Cheers.
Last!!
At last…
First!
I'm here for the tight dresses and large melons - when will you be displaying them? (welcome back btw)
