New Orem temple paves way for longtime Provo temple to be demolished, rebuilt

- As the new Orem temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prepares to open, it paves the way for another longtime temple to be torn down.
The Provo temple, located on the city’s east side, will close February 24, 2024, and be demolished. The temple will then be rebuilt on the same spot.

Exactly. I don't understand it at all, it makes no sense. Si upsetting.
This pisses me RIGHT the hell off. It was defaced when some 'Einstein' painted the gold spire white, then plopped Moroni on it. Now it will be rebuilt in an eyesore style like most others. Reconstruct the Salt Lake temple.
I can't believe the church is going to destroy this unique temple. I thought is was desecrated enough when the gold steeple was painted white and Moroni was slapped on top. Now an eyesore will replace it as with the Ogden temple. I just hope the church has no plans to reconstruct the Cardston temple.

Such a 70 looking building... Oh well. I'm sure they have plenty of money to use...
