The main questions for me are: 1. How about the Android overall experience? I mean, I have a RG505 which I also use as a second Android device. It's like a small tablet: I watch tv shows and even my graduation classes on it and having the possibility of using its stock Android OS as a complement it was a very good second benefit brought by it. So, if Daijishô becomes not only the front end app, but also the only way to explore its system, I'm curious about how it's like to use it as an Android device when you're not playing on it. 2. What about the buttons settings? I mean about the "back" and the "front end" buttons on the right side of the device. When Gamma OS gets instaled, how are they used in Daijishô, in games and in the overall Android device experience? I'd appreciate if you could solve these doubts so I could decide better about upgrading my RG505 or not. (P.S.: that generates a third question: is it to possible to install back the Android stock version if one can't get used to Gamma OS?)
These are all excellent questions! 1. It's still Android in the background. You have access to the Play Store and can install the standard apps as needed like TH-cam, Netflix, etc. 2. Yes, it still works the same way as Android. 3. Yes, you can go back to stock OS. The developer (Gamma Squeeze) has a video on that process which is on the GammaOS github page (should be linked in my description).
@@retrotechdad Thanks for your reply! I haven't upgraded it yet, though. Still need to backup my games and some saves before changing to it. A last question I have is about the emulators. Anbernic's stock OS brings them pre-installed and some of them are still not fully available to the regular costumer (I don't know if it's for being brazilian, but Citra emulator contais the information "early access" on its title). Is it necessary to reinstall all emulators and configure their settings? Does Daijishô/Gamma OS bring them pre-installed and/or pre-configured?
Yes, it is! Gamma was available for the 405M first. I've got two videos covering the install process, the most recent one is here: th-cam.com/video/vMJKEG3CV-k/w-d-xo.html
With Retroid no longer selling dome button kits (I REFUSE to play on a device that has mismatched d-pad and buttons) this might become my go-to recommendation for widescreen T618. I'd personally still take the Flip though, just because of how ugly the RG505 is.
