Very good information. Those legal fees can get very high I can imagine. Congrats on your purchase

Hi @annavaneck_ 😊 yes they can unfortunately! 😱 luckily our Title Company gave us a pretty accurate quote! However the Notary bill wasn't mentioned at all until the very end! 🙄 thanks so much for watching! 😀

Great video. What documentation did you need to buy the property?

You’re living our dream! We fell in love with Florida 2 years ago on our first visit. We are starting this journey researching and for a property to rent out and obviously to use when we visit! I wish the flights weren’t so expensive 😖 We have a fair bit of equity in our UK home, can I ask, did you remortgage to fund your Florida home? Your video is so helpful. My parents moved to Spain permanently 5 years ago when they retired and that all started with a visit to the NEC to the A Place In the Sun exhibition also (we are from the midlands!) thanks for a brilliant informative video!

I started watching you due to a long story of my own. I'm British and used to live in Kissimmee during the 90's and had both my children in the USA, I was a resident alien for just over a decade. In 2003 I moved back to the UK with my young sons. Recently one of my sons now a grown man went back over there to stay with his dad who still lives there. I'm thinking if my other son decides to move back over as well, then I might have to consider a vacay home so I can live part of the year there.
Unfortunately in hindsight I should have kept my American bank account but didn't. I'd love to know the process of how you got your American bank account. Maybe as a follow up video 👍
Currently I go to Orlando once a year, is it something I can do easily and within a 2 week vacay?
    Love this vid 👍

Hi @buffetheroes8335 😊 the easiest way to setup a US bank account is to research which banks are in the area that you'll be visiting the most. Once you have selected a bank, contact them via email. We were able to set ours up through email, you could also arrange an appointment with the bank in advance for when you next visit 😊 thanks so much for watching! 😀

You mentioned about funds being in a US account for a couple of weeks. How did you get around this? Have you open a US account, if so what was the process? Sorry for all the questions and hope you don’t think I am being noisy. Good luck with the property.

Hi David 😊 once your ready to start looking for a property to buy, the realtor should be able to recommend a bank to you and help you through the process 🙂 thank so much for watching! 😀

Thanks for the very informative video! I would love to buy a similar property to yourselves and would plan to rent it out to help cover HOA fees etc. How does it work when renting out a condo on a resort? Does Bahama Bay take a cut? What's the us income tax like?

Hi John 😊 rental does help cover the bills but you have to be prepared to cover all your bills when its not being rented. Our Realtor provided us with a pretty accurate breakdown of what our expected bills would be on our resort. All resorts are completely different price wise and HOA rules etc, so it would be good for you to speak to a Realtor in your chosen area to get this information for you 😊 thanks so much for watching 😀

Wow wouldn’t it have been cheaper to fly out and sign ?

    • @OurOrlandoHolidayHome

It certainly would have been but we only got told that a Notary was arranged to come to our house the night before and we had to tell the Title Company that they would have to rearrange because we were at work the next morning! So it was just dropped on us with no prior warning, plus we both couldn't have any more time off work unfortunately!
