Thank you I have many videos to show parts of the technique of Mochila making. I do not have videos that show the making of a whole Mochila, because that would mean I would have to make a video of 100 hours long. I have patterns for sale on Ravelry.
Hello Marion. Sorry for muy english. Congratulations for your videos. I have a question: where did you buy The thumb protection, because I have pain in my thumb when I knit crochet and I Will love get one.
Thank you The ring is called a silver splint. It prevents my thumb from bending 90 degrees the wrong way. Silver splints are custom made. Mine are made by www.silversplints.com/en/.
Thank you I work with mercerized cotton yarn, 125 meter per 50 gram, with a 2 mm hook. Good brands are Schachenmayr Catania, Scheepjes Catona, Camilla ice yarn, Phill cotton 3, Grundle Cotton Quick.
I am a bit confused: I read and heard several times that one should yarn over, yarn under and that the Wayuu do it that way. I am not very satisfied with the outlines of the design when changing colours, but this could be also due to the fact that I am using a rather thin yarn...experimenting....However, you don't yarn over, yarn under, and your design looks very nice and tidy. Any suggestions?
As far as I can see the Wayuu make the stitch yarn over for both pull throughs. You get straight lines because you crochet in the back loop. Some people, who crochet very loose, do the second pull through yarn under because it finishes the stitch tighter. I crochet really tight, so for me yarn over is the best. Just experiment to see what works best for you.
I switched to yarn over on the same piece of work and found the result nearly the same, except that it is a little bit looser, but so much faster. What I am struggling with now, is the outline. When going up to the left, you get those little claws, but it seems like lots of people have them. Not you . Maybe more so with thinner yarn.
Irene Stipperger When you are right handed, diagonal lines to the right look straight and diagonal lines to the left look a bit staggered. When you are left handed it is the other way around. You can also see that in my work.
Doris Myrian Acevedo R. Thank you How many increases you make, depends on how many increases you need to make a flat and firm bottom. Most people need 10 or 12 increases. If you need 10 increases, you start like this. th-cam.com/video/yO6eL4DeOmk/w-d-xo.html If you need 12 increases, you start like this. th-cam.com/video/YB2WbW9FK1c/w-d-xo.html
I make short videos to explain parts of the technique of mochila making. I do not make videos for complete bags. If you are interested in making my designs, then please check out my Ravelry store.
Hugette Watson Yes that is possible. If you want to crochet through back loop, you have to start on the same side for every row. So you will have a lot of ends to weave in. Or you could braid the ends. You can also crochet in a tube. And when the it is finished you cut the work and then you have a blanket. They also do this with fair isle knitting.
Isabel Ramos, yes it is cotton. I use Schachenmayr Catania original, with a 2 mm hook. This is mercerized cotton, 125 meter per 50 gram. Other brands, Yarn and colors Must have, Scheepjes Catona, Phildar cotton 3.
