- The 'jog' can really distort the pattern in a Mochila. In this video I show you how to hide the jog in diagonal lines.

For a Mochila it is important to use a smaller hook then you would normally use for the yarn.

Thank you for another helpful video. Surely you have had this question before, but I wonder why at the first change of rounds (dark blue to purple) why not just close the blue round and then start with a standing or chain,? This makes a "seam" but for only one round, why not? Same question about the first part (after magic ring) --- why not close to make it neater? is it because this is not the way it is traditionally crocheted (like Wayuu) or because the one row with a "seam" doesn't look right?
C Turner The original Mochilas made by the Wayuu often have a jog, especially with continues lines in the pattern.
When you close the round, you get a seam. Personally I think a seam stands out more than a jog.
When you close one round and continue in spiral the pattern will be distorted.

Thank you for sharing this technique. Fantastic! If you increased one stitch at the yellow color, do you need to decrease somewhere within that row to make sure you get the same total no of stitches?
No, you need that extra stitch so that the start of the round goes diagonally over the work.

Thank you so much for sharing this technique, I don't like the jog either. So by doing this, you don't have to mark the end of the round?
I always put a marker in the first stitch of the round, to keep track of where I am in the pattern.

I started making a bag, however I made some terrible mistakes in the begging rounds, so I am.going to frog it and start all over.
