I just want to say Thank You for doing this Video ! I am a Beginner and I am a Visual person. I am starting on your video now and I Absolutley am EXCITED to learn how to do it :)

Dont use a continuous spiral if you are doing more than one colour, or you'll end up with badly matching joins at the end where all the rows meet. Do rounds instead; if you want to know how it looks go to the next tutorals in this series and you can see how terrible the base looks. Sorry if I offend the person who made this video... but it is obvious. Look at Wayuu bags... the bottoms dont do this because they dont use a spiral. Just trying to help.
thank you so much for doing these videos it's helping me alot I subbed your channel and I will definitely look at your Facebook page and website thanks so much
thank you for doing this your work is amazing i subscribed and hope you do more tutorials like this i will look for your facbook page and thank you so much again cant wait to get started :)
Hello- thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. I am doing a Mochilas Wayuu right now and I am using double thread #10. Is the thread too thin? I just want it to look very delicate and neat. Should I keep using that thin of a thread? Thanks. Olga
Hi Olga! I'm not exactly sure how thin double thread #10 is, but many times thinner yarn will actually produce a neater look. If it's not coming out neatly with the thread that you're currently using, you may need to use a smaller crochet hook so the stitches will be tighter.
If you can find the "Lily" Cotton Brand yarn it's bigger than size 10 which I usually use for my doilies. I think Lily thread or even Peaches & Creme is a #3 thread thicker.
thanks for the video .. what's better to carry all the yarn from the beginning or to add when needed ?? plus i started one but my circle is looking like a bowl any idea ??
Hi! Already read your explanation for the hook but can you remember the yarn used? Thank you for your tutorial & taking the time to enlight us. Have a good day ; )
Hi Juno :) To be honest, I buy almost all my yarn from thrift stores, so many times I don't know what brand of yarn I'm getting. The only thing I know for sure is that the white yarn is Red Heart and the dark blue yarn is Lion Brand. But I'm not even sure what the color names are, though. Wish I could be of more help!
+All Tapestry Crochet Well starting with the fast reply is a big help. But I thought this type of bags " needed " to be a specific # 3 yarn but if you have used Red Heart (meaning its a # 4, worsted weight). I'm guessing that I could use any yarn as long as allthe yarns used are the same #. So big thanks for your help! ; )
Oh great! And yes, the yarn could be #4, but to be honest, I personally would have preferred to use #3 if I had it. But as you can see, #4 works fine, too :)
Just watched a video on this. The more stitches to a round for your pattern the smaller the yarn. U can use any kind of yarn but smooth and slightly shiny works best. I am using Cotton Crochet Thread. You should not use anything over a 4. The lower the number the better. They pretty much said you can use anything u prefer.
Hi Bertha, I used a size F hook (3.75 mm). I like to use smaller hooks when doing tapestry crochet because it hides the extra yarn well. Also, tighter stitches in the base make it stronger and prevent it from stretching out. But of course, it's not completely necessary to use the same size hook that I use, especially if you're using a different size yarn. You should use whatever works well and is comfortable for you.
@All Tapestry Crochet, I was wondering what size hook are you using in the video. This is the first time I have been able to follow a tutorial and my project is coming out wonderful. I am so excited for sure and Thank You so much.
Hi Kylene! I'm actually not sure if I mentioned this in the video, but I'm doing a modified SC through both loops instead of through the back loop only. So basically I was doing yarn over/yarn under.
This is lovely! Thanks a lot for sharing!

you wrong about your statement - authentic wayuu bags have a spiral round and you can see the join - and they also made from acrylic and not cotton
what thread and size of crochet do you use?
Fico encantada com essas mochilas que pena que não traduzidos!
Es verdad no entendemos el idioma 😢
Thank you for your video. I've completed the base, are you going to make any videos on how to complete the sides of a bag?

Can i use wool and how many grams for this bag
can the magic circle be used instead of the chain method
Hi...nice tutorial.... i would like te know what size hook you used for this bag, i think a smaller size then required?

Those were my thoughts exactly......Thanks for the reply so soon...I can't wait beginning with my own bag

You're very welcome, Andreyah!

Hi Jessica! I'm so glad to hear that it's coming out so well! I was using a size F-5 hook (3.75 mm) in this video :)

Did you use the modified single crochet stitch for this?
Hi Kylene! I'm actually not sure if I mentioned this in the video, but I'm doing a modified SC through both loops instead of through the back loop only. So basically I was doing yarn over/yarn under.
Tendría que estar en español, para entender las explicaciones. Gracias.
Muito bom!
