      @JETZcorp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      With Hondas that's almost just how it is. Unless your build starts at the dealership, 80% of the job is usually un-molesting. I had a stock 91 Civic that got stolen, and in the 3 weeks they had it, the car was turned into a full-rice vape-bro basket case. They put serious driveway time and spent money to ruin that poor car.
      I love Hondas, but so much of that community is just madness. Some day there's only going to be one clean stock EG hatch left on Earth. Someone is going to spend $1.5 million on it, and just start cutting.

    It’s good to see that TSX in a more usable state. To get rid of all of those VSA and warning lights, chances are it will need a shop with Honda diagnostic software or the dealer to do a VSA calibration, and if the previous owner damaged the speed sensors, that’ll be something to replace to finally get all of those warning lights off that were caused by stancing/coilovers.
    Hope the new owner enjoys it!

    Those hood risers weren’t just to help clear the hood for taller engine swaps. It was also very good at getting rid of extra heat in those little engine bays when you turbo them or build them up quite a bit. Radiators and cooling in general have gotten so good I’m not sure those are necessary anymore. Especially on an Acura as modern as the TSX.

    • @maz5miata269
      @maz5miata269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Hood risers actually reduce engine bay heat extraction, the lower part of the windshield is a high pressure area so air actually gets forced into the bay rather than drawn out

    I own an 07 TSX and I get it…I love that car, but unless you’re keeping up with repairs (not just maintenance), it’s a lot to fix at once! I’ve had mine for 13 years and always kept up with regular maintenance, but I was letting non-mechanical repairs go and now that its old enough to need a bunch of mechanical replacements too (ps rack, suspension, motor mounts, etc) it’s going to get expensive fast to add the look-good replacements. Seats always rip and are on my list, bumper paint has been chipping since I bought it, a piece of the grill just blew off one day, the paint needs a re-clear at the very least possibly whole new paint job, I think a spoiler would look good, some window tint,…the list goes on. Fantastic mechanical cars, but the quality of a lot of the interior/exterior stuff is sub-par in my opinion.

    If you ever need to adjust the coil overs again, wash the treads with a wheel brush, it makes it a lot easier to adjust them without it having to get bound up.

    I’ve always had a huge crush on this car. 6speed k20 with full leather and gorgeous bodywork. Yet understated in a way. Was a hoot watching it donk it’s way across America, but def glad you brought it back to a classier configuration. 🖖 keep making kick ass content

    In Australia this car would probably get seized if you got pulled over in the stanced state.
    In the unstanced/stockish state, if you took it for a road worthy (required for change of ownership in Australia), the mechanic would just be like get out of here, this will never pass lmao.
    Every single bit of the frame rails are scraped with god knows how many mm of thickness missing, as is the subframe and core support.
    Poor car would only be good for scrap and a few parts - boot lid, headlights, bonnet, side glass, interior, alternator, power steering pump, ac compressor. The rest is either rooted or has been abused (entire drivetrain lol).
    Don't stance your cars kids, it ruins everything.
    If you want to hard park get bags, but drive at a normal height.

    Pro tip though - 50% overlap and go along the length of the piece you're painting.

    Not sure if this comment will be replied but I loved the mini series. Seeing this car put back to as normal as possible was satisfying . Hope it went to a great home.
    Were those clear taillights sold or thrown away ? If not I’d love to purchase them. I just got my first TSX a few wks ago and would love to do its first mod. Deff would get some use out of them

    I'm glad you somewgat saved this car. I have an arctic blue six speed tsx just like this. It's been the best car I've ever owned and I've powered it to about this height. I have a full bolt on setup on it right now. These cars are the best do everything cars there are. I've had so much fun in mine

    see they say don't stance your car, but I've seen people with immaculate cars stanced that actually took time to modify it rather than drywall screws for the side skirt. i feel like they picked up a couple half assed modified cars.

    I dont care how bad its painted, I am just thankful somebody is doing it. As a mechanic I had to constantly undo others mods to make a car useable again. Where I live the roads are so horrible it's hard to get away with rims. If a car is lowered, there are places you cant go at all. If you have ever been around branson mo, you would understand. Narrow roads with sheer drop on one side and cliff face on the other. Nowhere to pull over, so better have your shit on point.
