Don’t think of what happens in the future if something bad happens with the car, instead focus on enjoying and making memories with it now in the present as you have done with the other cars you have owned. Dont be pressured and stressed and dont go with validation sh*t, just drive and enjoy. I do have a friend whos like that and always getting affected by validation of others, and he kept on changing cars due to that.
The car is looking and shaping up to be incredible! Some people may not have your taste (I certainly do) but seeing your passion for the project in the video is a whole element to the story of this car that goes beyond just "what's that Mazda look like". Fantastic as always.
Yo props to you for being able to just tell us how you’re feeling and I support it as long as you’re smiling then it doesn’t matter what you’re driving or how you make it look.
Grwat job on the build so far! I LOVE the wing! I may be out of line, but I say make it yours! If someone is upset about it they can get their own and build it THEIR way... I just went through this on my 1988 Mustang GT T-Top I recently inherited from my Dad in July. He lost a quick battle with pancreatic cancer and he and I shared a love and passion for cars! I am 43 and refuse to apologize for MY taste for MY projects and I don't feel you should either!
I’m currently in the same boat as you, Ben. My Lexus IS300 has been the epitome of what my dream car has been about. But now since I’ve thrown a second transmission in it, I’ve been through so much trauma, and I’m happy to even be driving it this time, even if I’m missing a 5th gear. I’m on to transmission 3, Genuine TRD Altezza Bumper, Vertex Fenders. It scares me. But at the same time, I love it so much, I fear of having to let it go someday if anything were to happen. My advice : Cherish your car as it is, and as you go. And the more mistakes you make, or the more you work on it, the better you will be at being able to take care of it, and improve on your handiwork over time. Learn how to better care for it as it cares for you too. An enthusiast ownership is a relationship between a driver and his car. And I see nothing stopping us from achieving our dreams. Continue to grow, I’ll keep watching.
Inital D inspired color choice? Also just saw the ending, this is your channel, your car, your choices. We follow this channel for you and other Ben. Dont worry about what other people would have done different or dislike. Hope to see more vids on the progress!
I know exactly how you feel, I've wanted an S14 for a while now, and I'm finally pretty far along in building my dream S14, but I just cant stop worrying about it. All the time I worry about the sounds it makes, or the way it feels, I worry about getting hit in it, or something else bad happening to it, and it really just stresses me out. It really keeps me from enjoying it as much as I should.
In a very similar situation to you mate. Got a small fortune invested in my current project, and I can definitely relate to the feelings you’ve described. In a world where 500hp is now considered ‘average numbers’, I feel that it’s important to show gratitude for what you have and build for your own personal satisfaction. Don’t let your passion or desire to modify the FD die out because of that pressure - it’s a timeless platform that will go down as one of the greatest sports cars to come out of Japan. I for one think that you’ve already improved the car significantly. Looking forward to watching the progress!

Thanks Ben for being open and honest about your feelings there at the end. This is how most enthusiasts feel and it's great to hear it from you because we've never heard it anywhere else. Stay safe bro!
You've got nothing to worry about it. People should love this car not for the way it looks, because that is always personal preference, but because it is a representation of you. That being said, I absolutely love the way the car looks. Keep up the great work!
Hey Ben Don’t worry about other people to like it or not. The important thing is that you like it. Keisuke Takahashi is proud! The car is turning out great so far. Don't worry about the small stuff. Scratches and stuff happens. That's just normal wear and tear (unfortunately). Just do the best you can. And honestly, I can understand why you feel some pressure for the FD. There's just something about that car. If you do something wrong to it, you feel like you're screwed. Good luck with the rest of the build!
I was shocked when you went with yellow, it completely payed of and is one of the best looking rx-7s ive ever seen- your car is worthy of a video game!

I'm a viewer wishing you the best on this project.

It’s your car, that you’ve dreamt about for over a decade. Build it the way you dreamt of in those 10 years, without compromising your vision to the taste of others. Don’t think of what happens in the future if something bad happens with the car, instead focus on enjoying and making memories with it now in the present as you have done with the other cars you have owned. After all, it’s what your channel has inspired me and countless others to do with our own cars; keep up the inspiring work!
When you said “most controversial mod” I thought you were scrapping the pop ups.
yea i was thinking about that too, i thouught ben want to replace the pop up headlamps into aftermarket ones
@@davenusapitu1147 RE amemiya headlights would look nice
Lmao I thought the same, please don't take the TJ hunt road with your FD, it's looking incredible ❤️
Same here too

Hey man we love the car but at the end of the day it’s yours so go wild with it. We’ll still be here watching
I've never personally cared one way or another before about RX-7s or rotaries in general... until I saw this video. One of the most simple, elegant, yet striking builds I've seen. Thanks for pouring your soul into this for us all to see. Can't wait to see some head to head action with short Ben.
I discovered your guys channel this year via "short bens" civic build. I plan on k swapping my CRX in the future and loved seeing what all went into his build. But I then branched out and watched your road trip video from Florida to Nova scotia. And I've been hooked since. You guys produce spectacular content and im always excited to see a new video pop up. And now both of you are building my DREAM car an FD. One rotory and one Kswap. I just can't handle the awesomeness. I'm so excited to follow along on your journeys of these builds and how different they are. Keep up the great work!
Just chill Ben! Looks awesome, and even if it didn't you're the one who has to like it and enjoy it! It is all just for fun like you said!!
There's 2 Bens and i like em both but this is my Ben. He likes to keep the purity alive and has really good taste😍
As an aussie, I would say "F'n mint c**t!"
Can't wait to see the front aero happen and where you go engine wise - LETS GO - rx7 v rx7 - ben v ben - kswap v rotary
*Would like to see the side clearance markers maybe blacked out, and the reverse light surrounds black instead of yellow
That ending tho! Every automotive enthusiast will relate to it 💯
My google search now- “used rx7 for sale near me”....

I had the biggest smile once they revealed what color they’ll be wrapping it
THE DORITO REMAINS 😍😍
Love the car and mods 👍
Why the pressure?!
Don't sweat it.
Take it to the track, enjoy it.
Connect with it.
If it brakes, fix it.
Have fun, it's your car!
Keep smiling
Dude should get it tuned at Angel Motorsports since they're going to be in Virginia now
duude thats where hert gets his fc tuned right?

Yes they are in Chesapeake, VA. I live down the street from them. I hear the 13Bs ripping it almost every weekend.
@@city-munky lucky!

The FD and the FC are probably the most pleasing-to-the-eye cars.
the thing i love about the fd is that in stock form they look great, but the best part is seeing how everyone transforms and adds their personal style to it. there’s no pressure, we are just glad to be able to see an fd being enjoyed.
Don’t worry about what other people think, build it to how you want it to be and don’t worry about anything,it’s the cleanest fd I’ve seen in a while!

This is what I'm talking about!!! I love it, just not the yellow hahaha, but that's your car. which means your taste, so don't worry about what anyone says. Rotary Power!!!!
As a wise man once said : possibilities are endless with a magic dorito but it comes at a cost
No need to worry, I think the car looks awesome and that your sense of style is spot on! Forget about people who are negative and say they dont like this or that part or that something doesnt belong or whatever! Be yourself, create your own ride and have fun, thats all that counts! Best wishes from the Netherlands
Thanks Ben for being open and honest about your feelings there at the end. This is how most enthusiasts feel and it's great to hear it from you because we've never heard it anywhere else. Stay safe bro!
it's amazing, i love it, it's also my dream car, and you saved the rotary engine, great work 🔥

So hype for this series LOVE THE WING!!!
You've got nothing to worry about it. People should love this car not for the way it looks, because that is always personal preference, but because it is a representation of you. That being said, I absolutely love the way the car looks. Keep up the great work!
Hey Ben
Don’t worry about other people to like it or not. The important thing is that you like it. I can not effort any car right now, but you and the other ben’s videos make me to have patients and it is like a motivation for me. I would love to get a ride in the Type R and your RX-7. Thank you for the videos.
It's super cool to see two very different builds of one of my favorite cars on this channel. I'm excited to see where Ben² take their FDs.
YAS!!! Redemption for the short Ben's sins!
Love the honest feedback at the end Ben!
When you talking about wrap I was hoping you picked yellow! I have that same yellow on my M3 and it's beautiful! And don't ever worry about what other people will think because no matter what you'll never please everybody, so just please yourself
Ben had me at the ramen noodles.
Such a beautiful car.
Congrats Ben, you deserve it.
Excited to see the build, hopefully I can afford an Fd one day
This car is soooo nicely done, not overdone and the right engine.
I was shocked when you went with yellow, it completely payed of and is one of the best looking rx-7s ive ever seen- your car is worthy of a video game!
Loving the jdm touch on the rx7! From the Advan wheels, car shop glow tail lights to the feels wing! Looks so good! Build the car for you Ben!
Congrats tall Ben, love how the FD looks with the new mods!
Don't like the wing and rear lights, but this is my personal taste. The color and wheels looks awesome, very nice build you have and great video =D

About the last part of the video, be positive, I wish I could own one but you do I don't know you but and I still feel happy for you and I'm looking forward to seeing more episodes and if you make one mistake on the journey you will learn you will improve don't be negative be positive think that the best of all this project is going to be good because for builders like you can inspire other guys to do this as well. I'm a viewer wishing you the best on this project.
I love it man! This is your car, you decided what you want on it. At the end of the day everyone will say different and have there own opinions, but it is your car, your ideas and your design. In my two sense, I love it. Always been a big Mazda fan. Owned a miata for 12 yrs. I love Rx7 FDs and I wish I can own one in the future as well. And rotary is by far bad ass motors.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only person who thought of Keisuke
It’s amazing man, you are living the dream of a lot of people, I think you’re doing an amazing job at it.
Wow, you ended with the forbidden line that no car guy ever wants to hear, "It's just a car."
"If it burned down.. it's just a car" kinda hurt deep
i mean at the end of the day it really is. once you start to get emotionally attached to a machine nothing good comes out of it
@@DarTroHD being emotionally attached to a machine makes you take care of that machine better and prolonging its life
@@brixsteezy4486 you can do all that without being emotionally attached to a machine though. i feel like the experiences associated with the car are more important than the car when it comes down to it
@@DarTroHD im bad at English (im filipino) but what i want to say is people who dont care about their cars and just ride it like its just an item often forgets to maintain it, emotionally attached people tend to ride it to its limits and improve whatever imperfections it has,but i dont disagree on what you said there
BRO this car looks sick. You have good taste in mods and aesthetics. Don't worry about what others think, its your car and you get to have it as you like it. Thats what makes your car special. Its yours and no one else's.
Great video man. I have owned my fd since 98 and I understand all those emotions you are feeling. There will be some lows but the highs are so high that you will love being a fd owner. It is your car and it looks great. My rx7 is a little more oemish on the outside but this is your car. Drive it and remember a rotary should get red lined every once and a while. The only thing I am not sure about is that synthetic oil. I have always 20w50. Also always premix. I have the oem metering pump so I do .50 once per every gallon. P.s dont believe those fake reports of rotarys being unreliable. Continue good maintenance and you will have no problems
I’ll buy your wheels, been looking for those for my evo 😭
