I’m sorry The Temptations movie was solely from Otis’ point of view. It was well done and well acted but not the most accurate biopic even by Hollywood standards.
He is so well spoken and very humble. I appreciate how he refuses to say anything against his brothers. He knows Johnny and Ralph are the lead singers and "The Voices" so they will always have an open door.
Lot of times interviews can be messy. There's no New Edition with ALL members. No matter who came in first, second, third, etc. Each member is vital, it's brotherhood, family. You just don't throw away ur family, it's called loyalty. Love how Rick took up for his brothers and not feed into the negativity.
Btw, just went to the RBRM concert and they said these same exact words. They were so positive and supportive of All their brothers (New Edition). They said several times we are brothers. And of course such wonderful&talented performers, but very professional.
I am absolutely amazed at the transition these guys made while going through as much adversity at they did, my hat goes off to them, this is my favorite group second only to Cameo. Another group that was truly underrated during their time. I'm glad you guys have stuck it out, and I pray before the curtain falls on your careers you get your just deserts. you deserve it!
New Edition is one of the greatest male groups of all times R&B. I've been listening to them for years. I was born in the 70's. All I can say, whenever I hear their music it makes me feel sooo happy, the memories what can I say.. I guess thats what most important to me..
Ricky was always cool, quiet , low key in the original line-up even though he contributed strong lead and a crucial element in the backup harmony. It's so good that when they regrouped as BBD that he came full throttle on lead and they soared on the charts !!! I love how he seems to never have a problem with falling back and backing up who ever is singing lead. He's a very relevant element of NE. And even though Bobby was an original member of NE, Johnny Gill brought alot more versatality to the group's sound. He and Ricky and Ralph all 3....easily commanded on lead vocals and when Ralph sang lead, Ricky and Johnny mastered that background harmony. Not to say that Mike & Ronnie didn't do their part because their rap and dance skills were great contributions to the group. Im just saying the backgound and harmony is stronger with Ricky and Johnny doing backup.
I’m glad he said something without saying too much and remained respectful about it. He did a great interview and I hope he decides to become an advisor to upcoming artists (if he isn’t already). He’s full of wisdom and has learned his from mistakes.
It's funny y'all up on here talking about JG isn't an original member, and can do without JG on a tour. However, I GUARANTEE if those saying that only did Candy Girl, Telephone Man, etc, and didn't do Can you stand the rain, not my kind of girl, if it isn't love, hit me off, y'all would be straight up pissed. Why would you be pissed? Because the Heartbreak album IS the biggest selling N.E. album, AND their BEST album. And guess who made that happen? Put some respect on JG's name.
THANK YOU! Who shows up when drunk ass pissy ass perv ass Bobby Brown doesn't? JG. He is ALWAYS there rain or shine. He is Ralph's right hand as of now since the other 4 decided to turn on him for money. They KNOW what Bob did to Ralph. Johnny knows right is right and wrong is wrong.
I've always been fond of Ricky. He always seems so sincere when talking about or explaining the issues among the group. He's also the one that ultimately wants to pull the brothers together when there are projects lined up. Cause you best to believe he'll be there, front n center.
I’m not sure if the New Edition members will even see this feed but the brotherhood is key! Touring as New Edition is not the same without Ralph and Johnnie! I hope you all work out your differences and come back together soon!
Their voices are very soothing and calming- you can tell they went through some sh*t and came out on the other side. Keep it up beautiful and healed couple!
The best part of this NE story is the acknowledgement of their familial connection - bound by bruv and mutually beneficial endeavors. i hope that remain as one til the final curtain call.
So much respect for the way Rick conducts himself. He's not trying to trash his bros but he keeps it real! He's not sugar coating or bashing. This brother got it together. Wish they would all come together and just do the damn thang
I love them. They may have differences, but they don’t throw each other under the bus. They speak their truth with wisdom. I love each of them. I’m a fan for life.
As a Fan from way back since the beginning when the group came out with their first album and I will be completely honest,To me There is no New Edition without Ralph Tresvant period.
Not sure i commented b4, but Mr. Bell comes off like a very cool brotha. He’s definitely seems chill and genuine. With the pandemic, i doubt if we’ll ever see a full fledged New Edition reunion. I’m kinda over it by now. I’ll stick with watchin clips on TH-cam. Thanks for the memories fellas.
After seeing NE's "Culture Tour" in 2022, now I wonder what the tour WOULD have been like, as Ricky just described in this interview... The full cast of "The New Edition Story" & all 6 NE members! Wow!!!! That would've really been an interesting show! 👏👏👏
I can't think of a better r&b group like new edition in terms of each member is their own star, and, the members can reinvent like puzzle pieces unlike any other group I can think of. I'm talking about as far back as the 1950's!
I will always love NE my favorite group of all time!!! one of the first CD's I bought back in 92 was there's. Seen them in concert 3 times I adore every one of the members 😘😍
First of all, the G.O.A.T. R&B male group is THE TEMPTATIONS... PERIOD. Second, The Jackson 5. NEW EDITION WITHOUT QUESTION IS THIRD... EVER!!!! All them 90s groups wouldn't be $h!+ without NEW EDITION! NKOTB, N'sync, Backstreet Boys, BoyzIIMen, ABC, Intro, Guy, Today, Basic Black, All4One, DRS, Coming Of Age, Troop, Silk, The Boys, Immature, B2K... NUN UM!
Bro u have to go back and listen to some dramatics and stylistics or spinners better sound live performances too minus the hyping the crowd and the choregraphy
Yeah he has a movie and book. I wonder how he felt about that scene in the New Edition movie that showed him doing cocaine in his teens, but in his book and movie he swears he didn't touch it until Whitney made him do it lol. Nah he didn't say make, just put her at fault.
This could definitely bring a resurgence to R&B to come back to being Soulful, Romance Ballads and great harmonies... instead of what we have now which is sad how music is today...
@corey blackwell sean combs or whatever he is calling himself these days does not care about nobody but himself. All his artist got jamned up except him. Mase, shyne, Faith, lil Kim, carl thomas. All his artist have gotten screwed. ..but not sean... he always walks away. ..un touched! !!!!!!!!...I wonder why? ?????????
Clayton Bouldin right but puffy wasn’t the only one a lot of the rappers from the 90s sampled old songs like crazy especially the west coast rappers half of dr dres the chronic album is nothing but samples
WE so LOVE this Group, they are DEFINITELY icons. Have GROWN with them, have seen different ones venture out on to DIFFERENT projects, come back STILL as NE, we've heard about the big egos that led to separation, somehow they 've managed to put all that behind and do tours together as the WHOLE NE. These Men have experienced mismanagement and all sorts of Other bad business deals and personal situations and STILL remained of Relevance. These guys have truly grown from boys to men right in front of us and STILL going strong. I Truly wish the best for these individuals and that they have continued Blessings, whether it's with BBD, RBRM, or the WHOLE NE Click, l wish THEM the Best!!!!
D The Chemist the five heat beats was not a bio pic. It may have been loosely based on the dells and a few other groups but it was the NOT the life story of any one group lol
Brian Parker .....Johnny ,Ralph then Ricky. Bobby was known for being an energetic performer/dancer, never for his vocal abilities. Now that he can no longer dance, he’s literally at the mercy of his fans.
Ricky's voice was stronger than Ralph and Bobbys imo...Ralph sounded like MJ and Bobby was a great perforner ... Ricky was just a straight up R&B singer who could've sang with Jodeci ,Silk, and H town
They've been doing this industry so long & I live for how seasoned Ricky is durning this interview. Yes, we want to see NE touring together again, One Band, One Sound, however, if it never happens again, then the Universe has spoken. I'm super glad RBRM decided to put their tours together.....BRILLIANT!! I still get to see my fav, Ronnie, no matter what group, under the NE umbrella, is touring. He is 1/3 of BBD, 1/4 of RBRM & 1/5 or 1/6 Of New Edition.
@Jason Cross that's a damn lie Jodeci didn't sell more records New Edition sold more records They more talented than Jodeci Jodeci got to lead singer New Edition got 4 lead singers Bobby Brown Ralph Tresvant Johnny Gill and Ricky Bell....
Stevie Newby I thought Jackson 5 were originally considered r&b. They were the first to successful crossover Also I like to add DeBarge as top 5 greats, one of the most sampled groups of all time.
New Edition, Bell-Biv-DeVoe (B.B.D), Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, all provided a soundtrack for my life. I got mad love for all of these brothers! I truly understand how misunderstandings can happen among family and friends. But they owe it to us fans to put all that 'ISH aside, reunite, and do what they were made famous for!!!!!!! I played "Is this the end" back in the '80s over and over the first time a girl broke my heart! Almost teared up right now.
Out of all of their experiences as individuals and a group. They have more wisdom on the music business and marketing than others. See the movies, hearing them speak on interviews is teaching me a lot.
Because he doesn't wanna say the REAL reason. It will make him look bad for working with Bobby. The reason is a personal beef. Johnny Gill addressed this on an IG post.
@@nonenone5525 Johnny didn't really say anything in that IG post either. My point was that this is titled as if Ricky told something, and he didn't. The title is misleading. That was my point.
Johnny said it was a personal beef going on and If ppl knew the truth they would be devastated. They would. HE did some foul ass shit to Ralph and Ricky's painted on head knows about it and STILL chose to tour with Bobby. Johnny is sticking by Ralph because right is right and wrong is wrong. Can't publicly say what was done out of respect for Ralph, but just know HE is VERY foul for what he did and BBD are foul for knowing and still choosing to work with him. Especially Mike. They're money hungry. Ricky won't say what it is because ppl will ask why tf he's still associating himself with him knowing what went on.
@@nonenone5525 I don't know if any of that is true, but if it is, I can understand BBDs point of view. Money is money and they've gone years without making money so at a point, you have to put the money first. All of these men have families to feed. Also, Mike's time on The Breakfast Club didn't sound like he feels Johnny and Ralph are being anything more than silly, and they also purchased the N.E. name on the low. Personally, from interviews, I always found Johnny to have a bitchy temperament so I don't take much of what he says seriously. If Ralph wants to hold up his money, I don't see why the other guys would do the same. Kudos to them for being grown men who know how to separate the business from the personal and going out creating revenue for their women and children.
I loved the way Ricky did that interview. Smart words. Come on New Edition (Ralph & Johnny) come back together and get that money and make your fans happy! Geeezzz
Very good interview. No one thrown under the bus, and adults realizing that life happens, so you make adjustments. Just glad to see them in a healthier place, and able to benefit financially from their talents.
It no one's fault about anything. I think Ricky summed it up in the interview. Yes, they have differences, they always do, they never seem to forget what's more important, and that's BROTHERHOOD. Everything else is Null, and void. They WILL be able to work through whatever it is. STAYED TUNED TO N.E. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS. Lol

But the NE story is still ongoing...part 4,5 6 coming up...BBD story?
Facts!!!
I’m sorry The Temptations movie was solely from Otis’ point of view. It was well done and well acted but not the most accurate biopic even by Hollywood standards.
And 5 heartbeats
He is so well spoken and very humble. I appreciate how he refuses to say anything against his brothers. He knows Johnny and Ralph are the lead singers and "The Voices" so they will always have an open door.
Lot of times interviews can be messy. There's no New Edition with ALL members. No matter who came in first, second, third, etc. Each member is vital, it's brotherhood, family. You just don't throw away ur family, it's called loyalty. Love how Rick took up for his brothers and not feed into the negativity.
There's no NE without all members, period
Too true. Who's gonna sing Boys II Men and how will they leave the building if they don't sing it? These same fans will riot
Straight up. Let these same so called fans go and request they ONLY do the songs from the original line up. Since they have want to talk shit. Please.
Right. smh
None None What did Bobby do to Ralph?
I've always been fond of Ricky. He always seems so sincere when talking about or explaining the issues among the group. He's also the one that ultimately wants to pull the brothers together when there are projects lined up. Cause you best to believe he'll be there, front n center.
Bell Biv DeVoe, also known as BBD, Poison was one of the greatest hit ever..The entire world felt it..
They respect each other. They have a relationship that no one would understand. I love their friendship.
I’m not sure if the New Edition members will even see this feed but the brotherhood is key! Touring as New Edition is not the same without Ralph and Johnnie! I hope you all work out your differences and come back together soon!
Bobby Brown
Elaine Donaway Bobby brown is already touring with them hun
And think of us in Europe..I hope 2see them before im too old 😉
Their voices are very soothing and calming- you can tell they went through some sh*t and came out on the other side. Keep it up beautiful and healed couple!
Ricky Bell is one of the best falsetto singers
The best part of this NE story is the acknowledgement of their familial connection - bound by bruv and mutually beneficial endeavors.
i hope that remain as one til the final curtain call.
I am loving the Ricky interviews... he has the greatest voice ever...
Best stage presence of any group i've ever seen!! Fan for life....LOVE THESE DUDES
Man that would of been soo cool if they could of worked that tour out with ALL NE members and the cast of the movie
I pray this day will STILL come to pass.
So much respect for the way Rick conducts himself. He's not trying to trash his bros but he keeps it real! He's not sugar coating or bashing. This brother got it together. Wish they would all come together and just do the damn thang
Why is this woman even in this interview sitting there agreeing like she was in the group🤦😂😂😂
Because Ricky wants her there....
I screamed at this comment. 😂
Love how Ricky interviews!
How many more parts, Vlad? I want the full interview!
I've been saying that for yrs on all his vids, he splits them up to get more views & likes on youtube.
Well said Ricky very respectfully done and no one should speak negativity about anyone because you guys are still family !
Dying to see RBRM in concert.
Yeah totally! I'm glad to see Bobby healthy again.
Throwboy Saw em in Detroit this Summer and they tore it up, Bobby even did his thing!
ive seen footage they sound great
Throwboy They were Awesome!
The RBRM concert is DA BOMB
Not sure i commented b4, but Mr. Bell comes off like a very cool brotha. He’s definitely seems chill and genuine. With the pandemic, i doubt if we’ll ever see a full fledged New Edition reunion. I’m kinda over it by now. I’ll stick with watchin clips on TH-cam. Thanks for the memories fellas.
😂🤣…..hope you made new memories with the Culture Tour! 🔥 🔥
I loved his answers...great presentation of self and his group.
I love new edition
These guys are real brothers. NE is like a long reality show of a family with ups and downs but always loyal
After seeing NE's "Culture Tour" in 2022, now I wonder what the tour WOULD have been like, as Ricky just described in this interview... The full cast of "The New Edition Story" & all 6 NE members! Wow!!!! That would've really been an interesting show! 👏👏👏
What a great voice AND great spirit. Saw BBD in '90. Still sound great in '19.
Im gonna need Vlad to stop asking stupid ass questions. Ricky Bell is a LEGEND!!! Love these interviews
This happens when you interview with a vulture; yeah the production is good but you be prepared to be made to look bad and out of context.
Ricky was always my favorite. He had the best voice out of the original New Edition
I can't think of a better r&b group like new edition in terms of each member is their own star, and, the members can reinvent like puzzle pieces unlike any other group I can think of. I'm talking about as far back as the 1950's!
The legendary Ricky Bell wow can't stop smiling
Thats his wife, she asked to be there. Been with this man for over 20 years. When he lost everthing and on drugs. Say less
GOD BLESS you Ricky Bell✌️I got Love for New Edition.I grew up on your music 🎶🎵🎼
Fox wanted to do a New Edition movie and Bobby didn't sign surprise surprise 😂😂
He wanted to make sure it wouldn't stop his own biopic. And it was a smart move because it was amazing as well!
@@vetdr03 Bobby Brown has a movie?
Yeah he has a movie and book. I wonder how he felt about that scene in the New Edition movie that showed him doing cocaine in his teens, but in his book and movie he swears he didn't touch it until Whitney made him do it lol. Nah he didn't say make, just put her at fault.
This truly puts the impact of new edition in a full capacity and very well received and respected
Props to him for respecting the crew!
Great interview and response from Mr. Bell.
Thumbnail with him are funny af...got the mmm m girlfriend look lmaooo
Ricky has a voice that no one can take
I like his style. He has class.
This could definitely bring a resurgence to R&B to come back to being Soulful, Romance Ballads and great harmonies... instead of what we have now which is sad how music is today...
Im so glad they didn t stay with puffy he would have ruined the NE legacy
@corey blackwell sean combs or whatever he is calling himself these days does not care about nobody but himself. All his artist got jamned up except him. Mase, shyne, Faith, lil Kim, carl thomas. All his artist have gotten screwed. ..but not sean... he always walks away. ..un touched! !!!!!!!!...I wonder why? ?????????
Clayton Bouldin honestly in the 90s if a remix of that came out with that bad boy sound low key would have been interesting to hear
Another great interview, djvlad. Thank you
RRBD tour, just to see them on stage was great they were having fun..I hope to see you guys in 2021..
The bio pic is up there with the jacksons and 5 heart beats and the temptations
D The Chemist the 5 heart beats isn’t a biopic
@@CedRockStarr yes it is. It's the bio of the dells.
D The Chemist the five heat beats was not a bio pic. It may have been loosely based on the dells and a few other groups but it was the NOT the life story of any one group lol
RICKY BELL THE BEST NEW EDITION HISTORIAN OF ALL TIME YOU TELL IT AS IT IS AND MAKE ONE WANTS TO HEAR MORE
Ricky! The brother was a breakout lead, back in the days, when all hope was lost after the breakup👍
You can't fade New Edition! So many hits and great music videos. Love these guys.
Ricky was just as good as Ralph and Bobby with the vocals
Brian Parker Ah, NO WAY. Ralph, Johnny and Bobby are on another level. Period. Ricky is good but no.
Brian Parker .....Johnny ,Ralph then Ricky. Bobby was known for being an energetic performer/dancer, never for his vocal abilities. Now that he can no longer dance, he’s literally at the mercy of his fans.
Ahhhhaaahahahaha!
In my opinion they're the greatest R&B group ever #NewEdition in my view and my knowledge of the music game
@Jason Cross that's a damn lie Jodeci didn't sell more records New Edition sold more records They more talented than Jodeci Jodeci got to lead singer New Edition got 4 lead singers Bobby Brown Ralph Tresvant Johnny Gill and Ricky Bell....
@Jason Cross then on top of that everybody from New Edition went solo and had hits than Jodeci
I would say Jackson 5 is the greatest and set the standard for boy band groups. New Edition and Jodeci are def in the top 5.
@@librasun The Jacksons 5 The Jacksons is The Greatest Pop urban group ever.....
Ronnie... Bobby... Ricky... Mike.... Ralph and Johnny toooooo! Lol
Word to the Mutha!
Out of all of their experiences as individuals and a group. They have more wisdom on the music business and marketing than others. See the movies, hearing them speak on interviews is teaching me a lot.
This actually doesn't tell us why Johnny and Ralph aren't touring with them though.
None None Stop Ralph & Johnny trademark the name and didn’t even want to include Bobby. Johnny actually said it on his post and now they’re being sued
I loved the way Ricky did that interview. Smart words. Come on New Edition (Ralph & Johnny) come back together and get that money and make your fans happy! Geeezzz
Was she in New Edition?
Very good interview. No one thrown under the bus, and adults realizing that life happens, so you make adjustments. Just glad to see them in a healthier place, and able to benefit financially from their talents.
It no one's fault about anything. I think Ricky summed it up in the interview. Yes, they have differences, they always do, they never seem to forget what's more important, and that's BROTHERHOOD. Everything else is Null, and void. They WILL be able to work through whatever it is. STAYED TUNED TO N.E. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS. Lol
My fellow virgo. My fiance, and him have the same birthday. He is so cool, with the coolest walk in the game. Very talented. Glad NE is back together.🥰
Vlad why you always need negativity in your interviews.....
For real man, Vlad... you're not interviewing correctly when you're always injecting BullShyt!!!...just let the man answer and ask intelligent questions for a follow-up.
@@aziz-kashifmustafaaii5101 ..lol intelligent questions? This nigga a singer lol. Not a damn philosopher. He wanted to tell his story. Not Vlad fault
That's what Freakin' Vultures do! Until he Stop's leading in questions. Stop's trying to play ignorant or naïve with questions. Stop interjecting with whom he's interviewed, talked to or pseudo knows. Until this vulture is earnest and says something solid from the first crack of the lips...he should get no space or room to speak. #CultureVulturesDontMatter
Fuck you want to hear about, last years family BBQ?
Y'all shut up and quit crying
