I feel like the yellow is already pretty thin and I didn’t want a white hot kinda look. Granted, could have always started there and went heavier later if needed.
Lava monsters are like grilled cheese sammaches. Dark crust on the outside golden bright ooey gooey insides. A white oil wash carefully applied as a pin wash with maybe a lil spillage onto the sides, i think would blow your absolute mind.
Thank you for sharing. One of my favourite methods remains the White Prime, Black Wash, and then Speed/Contract paints. (which you introduced me to)

i'd go in with a HEAVILY watered down bright yellow into thet deepest recesses of the lava monster to counteract that wash effect of the speedpaints
