Thanks Neil. We will cover of a number more in the next couple of episodes. Regrettably in a shorter trip than we’d like we have to miss a few good spots as well.
Hi David & Paula, just catching up on some of your older videos and now we want to go and see Tasmania. What time of the year did you do this trip? Looks fantastic. Thanx Dave
Hi. That was late Feb early March and it was great overall. Weather can be fickle in Tas at any time of the year but we booked to get there in the shoulder period after the summer but before it got too cold. Which was lucky in some respects as we had a car part delay before we could start. As we say in one of the episodes, you really do need much longer than we had - I say minimum 6 weeks (Paula says minimum 2 months) and those who have time often book 3 months. We appreciate not everybody has a long time . But noting that summer can be crazy and winter can be bitter - there really isn’t a bad time to do Tas if you’re equipped. If you have double our time period or more you can spend a bit longer at some of the good places, get more of the west coast in, spend some more time in Hobart (we had been to Hobart several times previously). But we love Tassie and will go back at some stage for a longer stay. Spirit of Tasmania is expensive with a van also so you need to spend sole time to justify that expense. Anyway, do it.
Hi again, l notice you are driving a DEFENDER model here pulling your zone. Would be good to hear which 4x4 you found best on your trips pulling your Zone or other vans. Thanks
Hi, we've posted a few vids re the Defender. Check this one out. th-cam.com/video/Dmowp3lAt0Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z8zTOA_i7F9JIV_M We were first timers when we researched and decided on the Zone and the Defender so we can't really comment on other combinations except those we looked at and test drove - we make some comment on that in the Defender wrap up. Hope that's of interest. All the best
So many great spots, thanks guys.
