And on top of that you had Edward telling Bella (and the reader) that not even once did Jacob had impure (I guess it means sexual) thoughts about the baby he just wanted her to be happy and safe. So even tho it's super sketchy and borderline disturbing it actually make sense in the context of the book.

Jade Alexandra Waldeburg omg same!!!! I originally watched the movies first and was intrigued by the back stories most of the side characters had. So I read the books to find out more. I’d love to see what Stephanie Meyer writes next because I think she has real potential as a writer.
Jade Alexandra Waldeburg also the only really problematic character is Bella. She’s so close to being a really decent character that it’s easy for me to insert my badass version of her into most of the story. Also Edward is not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. If anything he’s good for Bella. He keeps trying to make sure she keeps up with her friendships, her relationship with her dad, and apply for college. Now there are definitely problems with their relationship, but not as bad as that tripe known as Fifty Shades of Grey (Shit).

Edward is okay later on when he isn't battling Jacob for Bella, the problematic area is him watching Bella sleep (creepy stalker shits) and leaving her alone even knowing how codependent they are. Another problem is Leah vs Bella: Bella gets her happy ending because she doesn't have premarital sex, while Leah dated Sam (I can't remember if it's canon that they had sex but my point stands regardless) and gets no canon happy ending. Yet another problem is imprinting on babies. Steph Meyer can say all she wants that it isn't sexual and that it's the Fates, it is still grooming behavior to be around a child as it grows and then date it later. So those are the problematic aspects I meant. This kind of turned into a rant lmao sorry. I enjoy the series with a critical eye, as it is. I accept that the lore and the characters are fun and interesting, while also accepting that there are creepy aspects. It's fine *cut to me sitting in a room on fire*

@A z Imprinting isn't always romantic. They described it in the book as being whatever that person needs you to be. It's unconditional love and basically you're attached to this person no matter what you do no matter what form that takes (romantic or platonic or something else). And I didn't finish the books series or watch the movies so idk if it really is a euphemism for grooming.

Drove through there on my way back to Victoria from the Oregon coast, you definitely notice how much of a cornerstone Twilight has become to the local tourist economy. But I agree, it's funny how the town looks nothing like you imagine from watching the films. They do present a lovely patchwork of the types of scenery we have in the Pacific Northwest however, having used filming locations all over Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, some of which I recognize and have been to.

Jade Alexandra Waldeburg omg same!!!! I originally watched the movies first and was intrigued by the back stories most of the side characters had. So I read the books to find out more. I’d love to see what Stephanie Meyer writes next because I think she has real potential as a writer.
Jade Alexandra Waldeburg also the only really problematic character is Bella. She’s so close to being a really decent character that it’s easy for me to insert my badass version of her into most of the story. Also Edward is not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. If anything he’s good for Bella. He keeps trying to make sure she keeps up with her friendships, her relationship with her dad, and apply for college. Now there are definitely problems with their relationship, but not as bad as that tripe known as Fifty Shades of Grey (Shit).
@@kayhaven4710 that's fair, I do that too with Bella's character so that it's less like watching depression be a person. Edward is okay later on when he isn't battling Jacob for Bella, the problematic area is him watching Bella sleep (creepy stalker shits) and leaving her alone even knowing how codependent they are. That's not a healthy relationship. Another problem is Leah vs Bella: Bella gets her happy ending because she doesn't have premarital sex, while Leah dated Sam (I can't remember if it's canon that they had sex but my point stands regardless) and gets no canon happy ending. Yet another problem is imprinting on babies. Steph Meyer can say all she wants that it isn't sexual and that it's the Fates, it is still grooming behavior to be around a child as it grows and then date it later. So those are the problematic aspects I meant. This kind of turned into a rant lmao sorry. I enjoy the series with a critical eye, as it is. I accept that the lore and the characters are fun and interesting, while also accepting that there are creepy aspects. It's fine *cut to me sitting in a room on fire*

I never read Twilight, and I'm not gonna lie: "They talk for way too long about mitosis" makes it sound surprisingly fun in a bizarre way.

It's unconditional love and basically you're attached to this person no matter what you do no matter what form that takes (romantic or platonic or something else). I live in Forks Washington, and it’s funny because there’s so many tourists and it wasn’t even filmed here.
Drove through there on my way back to Victoria from the Oregon coast, you definitely notice how much of a cornerstone Twilight has become to the local tourist economy.
But I agree, it's funny how the town looks nothing like you imagine from watching the films. They do present a lovely patchwork of the types of scenery we have in the Pacific Northwest however, having used filming locations all over Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, some of which I recognize and have been to.
Why didn't she just wrote a fictional town in that zone?

Are you kidding me? The first twilight film has one of the ugliest examples of colour grading ever. Anytime a scenes outside it geniunly hurts my eyes with how absurdly green everything is.
Some shots and camera movement are nice, but overall the cinematography is pretty trash. Especially the blue-gray tint they have going on.
