It is being offered with a 1.4 litre K-Series petrol engine and a 1.6 litre VVT exclusively for the Chinese market and Fiat's 1.3 litre diesel engine. The diesel-engined SHVS model had a combustible comsumption rate is above 28.09 km/L while the fuel version comsumption average is 20.73 km/L according to ARAI.[2] The power (BHP) rating will be 91.18 (Petrol) and 88.76 (Diesel). The torque (NM) will be 130 (Petrol) and 200 (Diesel). I own Ciaz for last 5 years, but unfortunately i will not agree with the comments in video... I am 6ft Tall and basically a traveller. i use my car for daily use.... in city i am getting a milage of 16 to 17 kms/lt in city limits. i have also clocked around 22kms/lt on highway...constant AC on... i dont see any issues in the power also... I have also travelled to ladak in this same car.... and am fully satisfied with this car.... i also own Honda City,

I've Ciaz 2017 SHVS VDI + Model and using it for last 4 years, driven 85000 km. I am extremely satisfied with the performances of this car. Having the large space inside and comfortable sitting for long drives of 1000km nonstop also. Having the excellent boot space too. Suspension is superb. No extra maintenance cost apart from regular servicing. It runs very smooth at high speed also, doesn't vibrate. Good transmission. Mileage is superb even in city.

I own new ciaz and my brother owns honda city , i will not agree with you. I can bet head room and leg room is best in class . 2nd my ciaz gives me 18kmpl constantly city + highway driving and goes around 21kmpl at times .
Yes safety wise it lacks but honda city 6 air bags model cost around 16 lakhs and verna counterpart cost around 14.5 lakhs , while ciaz cost 11.5 lakhs .
Plus its more comfortable than city for sure.
Bro but top model Ciaz only has 2 airbags, so why are you even comparing it with city and verna. They are in a league of their own as they have better build quality and long term reliablity.

It's really very much comfortable for me, I never had a headroom problem. If you also sit decently you can't touch the roof anyhow..

i have driven ciaz 2017 vdi+ model from delhi to katra(J&K) it was most comfortable ride and my height is 5'11. Only body build is compromised else this is perfect spacious and comfortable car for city and long route rides.

I have ciaz 2017 done 70000 kms. Minor sounds are there in doors but satisfied.
My brother is 6.2, he can sit & drive comfortably and still have headroom. and about rpm im really satisfied works as it should. very decent space for both front and rear seats. All included its very premium and decent car the price tag.
Background music + traffic noise = a dislike and wasted efforts bro.

This is not right. I own a Ciaz of 2019 model 1.5litre engine. Top class vehicle with very good power delivery.. I agree with the power delivery of 1300cc against 1500cc would be a bit lag on highways. But rest of all the information given here is wrong. Most comfortable and affordable sedans in class. Best in ground clearance, boot space.

I have a issue and only issue is while driving the driver sight is blocked due to the piller right turn secondly after full turn the stearing doesnot reset it needs to be centered manually very light so drifts on high speeds need to b carefull and on accident get crumble like a paper

I own ciaz vdi(o) 2017 model and it is extremely good for the money I paid. While you feel that there's very little impact on pickup, i never faced any issue. Overall, I can tell you its a value for money car. Good mileage, Effective AC, excellent leg room, good look. What else do we need? Boot space is huggggee...

I have ciaz vdi plus 2016 1,05,000km driven my height is 6ft and comfort is awesome not at all headroom problem instead it is most spacious car in comparison to verna & honda city ! Engine power is good but in city average is not that good it will give around 15-16kmpl in summer even 14 sometimes but 20-22 on highway best quality is its speaker & music system flawless and good in beats

As being an diesel ciaz my service has costed least ₹5,200 & highest 13-14k
Now my car is 1.30 lac driven
Suspension has to be done now as been told to me by service advisor other than that flawless no clutch work no major part change nothing !

If you are going for petrol i have not drove it you can have a test drive for power but my friend is having ciaz zxi 2019 model and gets 17kmpl
So for sure you can go for it you will never regret it
Just check whether metre was orignally at 12k or it has been reversed because in market it is normal case for sellers to reverse the odometer

I bought in 2016( vdi+ shvs) , Driven 1,52,000 km . This car has good comfort, great mileage 22+, roomy interior and good suspension that’s it .
If we talk about problems/cons : very poor build quality, too much engine lag , poor acceleration , poor ac cooling power (takes load on higher revs), body fender touches tyres when sitting 3-4 people . Now the mechanical things i have changed since i bought : EGR, AC and Radiator fan set , gearbox overhaul , Timing Pulley set , Steering Rack , suspension 2 times, Thermostat .
Very poor reliability… so do not buy this car !!

No wonder this paid -ve review by this novice has more than double dislikes.
1. Engine : This diesel engine may be underpowered on papers but it is more than enough for city drive, unless u want to go for a drag race against 1.6 liter Verna. And initial pick-up may be slightly low but on the highways it's a beast and the way it stays planted even at 150+ km/hr is what you need from your car and neither Verna nor city offers you that....U start loosing that confidence once you start crossing that 130 km/hr mark with City and even less for Verna.
2. Dimensions : Ciaz is one of the most comfortable sedans in the country right now and it has one of the best headroom and leg room in the segment. Yes, the under thigh support could have been better but it's still not a big let down.
3. Transmission : Coming to the 20 years old 4-speed automatic gearbox. Clearly, you don't have any knowledge about the mechanics of a gearbox. It has Torque Converter Automatic gearbox. It is the oldest and the most reliable automatic gearboxes of them all. And the jerks that you mentioned must have been from the other Swift/DeZire AMT(Automated Manual Transmission) that you rode earlier. And the 4 speed gearbox is nowhere a let down, specially if you need a no nonsense transmission box. N come on, how many of us would normally change gears manually while riding an automatic car. It hardly matters, if your car has 4 or 14 speed gears, unless u r manually controlling it. Yes, it does impact the power distribution of the car but u would hardly notice it, once you are sitting behind the wheels cruising at a decent highway speed. U need a fun to drive automatic car, opt for a DCT(Dual-Clutch Transmission) and you would get that thrill while driving.
4. Safety : It has 2 airbags as standard. Yes, it's build quality is nothing as compared to it's competitors, but then you need to look at the price difference of at least 2-3 lakhs between their top variants. A country where mileage and price is the most important factor for most of the middle class families while finalizing their dream car, Maruti have done a pretty decent job and gave people what they asked for. Thailand model Ciaz has 4 star rating in ASEAN NCPA. If you need a safe car from Maruti, then go for S-CROSS and you would feel the difference. To achieve a higher mileage(most important question), they had to reduce a lot of weight compromising the car's safety.
For car companies, there r a lot of factors that decide the quality and price of a car and the most important of them all is the target buyer that they intend to sell it to. Every company has their own USP, n Maruti for sure does not have a 5* build quality as theirs .
Now the most important question while buying a car that one must ask themselves is, "what do I need from my car??"
- Status symbol : Honda City
- Power : Hyundai Verna
- German Engineering : Volkswagen Vento
- Comfort : Maruti Ciaz
- Safety : Skoda Rapid(buy a Tata/Mahindra car if safety is the most important factor for buying a car)
The way our country is focusing on NCPA crash test rating of the cars, I m sure we would be getting better build Maruti cars in Indian market as well, specially with the Toyota partnership. I don't see any other area, where Maruti needs to work on it's cars.

I am a owner of ciaz 2019 1.5 diesel. Very comfortable and surprisingly very powerful and refined engine.. my daily traveling is approx 100 km.

One of the worst reviews I read in recent times… the performance issue might be just a one off with the car that you’re reviewing…That doesn’t mean everything is a complaint about the make, performance and comfort.

Completely incorrect information and review sardar ji ciaz normal wali jo h 2017 tak ka model is swift ka engine shvs vdi+ ya smarthybrid is not swift wala engine it is different technologies also head room is really good and it is super comfortable my 2 family members hight is 6ft2inch and 6ft3inch unh koi problem ni hui false feedback mjhe 3 saal hogye i have been to 2000km journey in my ciaz from delhi to jaisalmer and longewala and sam and back to delhi via jodhpur plus went to badrinath even and had mutiple journey no problem at all only problem is with comsumables like break bad they survive max 10000 km change 4 times in 65000 km and like alternator belt or fan belt they can break chang d alternator belt at 670000 km aur koi problem ni h the car is perfect and with perfromance and comfort this is a fake review sorry paji but just being true

Getting Ciaz top model in a price where Verna's base model is still not coming with Camera. So, you can't say Ciaz is equivalent to Verna in terms of pricing.

I own a 2015 Ciaz diesel with 1,30,000 km on the odo and still running like new. I am 6'2 and it is as comfortable to me as my Safari Storme. I love this car for the reliability and comfort.
