its mostly due to the power of the two clans that rule it, Ill go into detail on that in their own videos. Just know its because they are "uniquely" powerful for now
I'd say it's worth considering their opinion on it. Because as the seeming experts and being around it all the time, how bad does it gotta be when they say it is? 😮
As ridiculously OP as Lasombra and Tzimisce are, only their inability to cooperate stops the Sabbat from destroying all Camarilla and Anarchs worldwide and taking over the world.
Journal of the Dark World Case - Vampire Entry - #007 Name - Contagion of Damnation. We found the Contagion that fester within the city, and it was more disturbing than I could ever imagine, the visual is least disturbing part of this Contagion, the sound, and oh god the smell, it shall haunt me till I go into torpor. But let back track a bit. It's been a few days since we make camp within the Anarch Movement base, and we have set up plan for what to do when we finally capture the city. So, Laula and I decided to use Panopticon to spy on the Treme member of the Primogen name Erica. When enter Erica perspective, we see her talking to the other Primogen about the tradition the city should enforce and their scheme to undermine the Sheriff and Seneschal power. As the meeting continue they start to talk in more religious tone, until the facade fall apart and they reveal themselves as the Sabbath. Which is similiar to my Covenant mix with The Lancea et Sanctum zeal. This information was good enough, but what happen next is even greater. After the Primogen finish their meeting, they decided to go to the underground level of their boardcasting company. It was normal at first, nothing out of the ordinary, but then the smell hit you, the acid and putrid smell of rotten flesh. Then the stair start to turn fleshy, and the sound, I can't barely describe it, it sound like when you step on fleshy wet mud, but it sound wrong. And then when they reach the bottom, I see the abomination, it was a pillar of rotten flesh, it was sensory overload, but I then spot the mechanical part within it fleshly body, and I knew this was the Contagion we been looking for. While the pillar was awful, the worst part come next, as the Primogen started to cut off pieces of meat off the pillar, while reciting the name of the Prince, and it was then that I finally realise that the pillar was him. The Panopticon break off as the Primogen consume the blood and flesh of the former Prince, this place is truly damn. From - Zezel, Gangrel, Circle of the Crone, of the Cryptocracy.
vtm bloodlines and redemption antagonized them so bad. acording to the lore, the sabbath are anti heroes who want to slay all 3d generation vampires to save everyone.
you are probably viewing the setting with the wrong lens if you are useing terms like "good, bad and anti hero." there no good guys in vtm only monsters trying to save themselves. While yes it is true they do seek to hunt the 3rd generation is is in no way to help others only themselves to stop their influence over them. The sabbats goal is plain and simple they think they should rule the world not hide in the shadows and so "world domination" really is their end goal and those within it embrace being a monster over being a human. There is a small sub-faction within the sabbat known as the black hand that are more reasonable but they are a modern thing and small compared to the faction as a whole.
I enjoy your videos including this one. Just know the Sabbat is a controversial topic. No matter what the lore says now, the Sabbat were the actual good guys. All had good and bad guys, but the Sabbat had the only good goal. World domination was a later goal, of some. It was originally freedom of religion and unlife. Almost all religious vampires, and all paths other than humanity, including the good guys, the Path of Heaven, joined the Sabbat. Lastly, it was muslim Ashira and other Banu Haqim who made the Sabbat The Camarilla were sort of neutral government made to keep elders alive. Safety for the every vampire came about slowly through people like Raphael de Corezon. The selfish faction, while the Sabbat has both the best and worst of the Cainite world
So I think you are conflating something here. For a start the Sabbat for as long as they have used that name have always been about religion and freeing yourself from humanity and its limitations, to embrace the monster within (the word itself is even religious in origin and meaning). However if you are talking about the group that first founded the faction, in around the medieval period then you would be correct they where much better than everyone else at the time and fought for freedom and liberation. BUT they used the word anarch at the time (its where the phrase "the sabbat where the first anarchs" comes from) Most of the "old sabbat" kindred who still held true to those original belifs where killed, diablerized or went into hiding (and might be helping the modern anarchs from the shadows) and shortly after that the name was changed to the sabbat to reflect this. The point of the modern sabbat is a tragedy. To show modern kindred (or anyone who still has a moral compass) that even you are capable of becoming the things you hate most. And as a final note you need to always remember that the world of darkness has always had the "unreliable narrator" structure and openly invites reinterpretations, even the books that state lore as if fact are deliberately misleading. Which is why almost every WOD games lore contradicts each other despite being the same world.
@@theashspawn As you said that may be "your" World of Darkness, the unreliable narrator structure allows for that. However, consider that the Sabbat aren't meant to be humanity vs monster, but monsters becoming more than human. Whether by using, denying, obeying, or starving the beast, Sabbat believed in becoming more than human. The evidence supports the current Sabbat being this way You had Banu Haqim cells, Black Hand, the other Black Hand and Path followers who became the more Conservative side with the Lasombra while the loyalists/anarch side was the Tzimisce and anarchs. The old Sabbat did not die, but separated. Shovelheads were made to die so how would the old one's die. The abundance of named characters all leading factions supports this. The whole Sabbat Civil War thing is OLD Sabbat squabbling about Sabbat politics. Hence why half the Lasombra and Tzimisce dipped, for the Cam and anarchs respectively The Sabbat should be more cultured now than ever, that's why many are angry. The conservatives had the more powerful lot, and the Caitiff recently sided with the conservatives including the Brujah. The clan power distribution in the Sabbat was Lasombra/ Tzimisce then Banu Haqim/Brujah. The last Sabbat Civil War made the Ultra-conservatives, Banu Haqim and Brujah beat the Lasombra with the Caitiff. The extinction of the other Black Hand would only make the Good Black Hand more powerful as well. Everything was going good for the Sabbat as the anti-heroes until this, which reversed it soft 'retcon' and direction change
@@muhammadedwards8425 I dont want to keep going with this conversation as I dont want to take away from your interpretation but I will leave you with two notes to chew on. The first is that their words almost never match their actions. They talk of freedom and equality yet their elders make combat slaves to die on their behalf and brainwash and control all those around them. All of the horrid acts they are known in cannon to commit dont match their doctrine. Second there is a good rule of thumb in world of darkness; to truly know a faction you need to see what everything else says about them. The Sabbat is the only faction that almost all of their lore conflicts with everything else. Even the most fringe werewolf tribe or mage order has someone else that matches with them yet the sabbat stand apart. A well written villain wont view himself as such. And their lore is written by themselves.
@@theashspawn It's cool, if you don't want a back and forth, but anyone else reading deserves the whole story. The Sabbat of Mage? The Traditions. The Sabbat are the Paths while the Cam are the path that rejects what they are, just like the Techno union. Whether their actions match their words is up for debate, the Sabbat has many groups with different beliefs. Most Sabbat factions don't use shovelheads, and those that do are largely false Sabbat or out of necessity. Camarilla outnumber Sabbat, and that's without elder shenanigans Last point about the lore is false as old lore has character profiles which are without narration that confirm old lore
I do agree that this video has it biased but I belive you may be as well. I enjoy sabbat as a tragedy its sad but as soon as they started draining each other probably unsuccessfully at that and the brujah (hell the brujah have there own contradictions as well) walked away things changed for the worse. What we have now is a parody of what they wanted to be. Now you can play it as part propaganda by others or in times of war we do what we must making path of night hated and the practice of shovel heads despised and frowned upon. A game where your having your sabbat group routing out rebelling and demon worship and corruption with in itself fighting the good fight yet always doomed to be thwarted by others and unable to sway the underserving dogs that are used as cannon fodder. Or you could have a group play sabbat as a persecuted group blamed for the non la anarchs acts or to cover the camarilla tracks to the neonates not yet willing to let go of the humanity they hold dear. Used as a way to hide what the ivory tower truly is and to keep others from seeking help from their brother and sisters in the sabbat. All valid ways to run a story esp in pre V5 games. But for most sabbat is the nameless bad guys that are thrown at the NPC's to show the dangers of losing ones self to the beast the game was created to keep your humanity and survive as long as possible. If you look at that the sabbat are very much the worse guys. Now if you side fully with Vampires well... thats a different more complicated debate. But I do wish One of these lore vids would explain that sabbat have options just as the anarchs aren't always or even often "freedom fighters" and camarilla is not always the last line to protect against humanity. Not every city or faction is the same nor is any one persons game. And early lore was made with that in mind.

Its surprising an industry of vampire's like this would survive eradication for so long.

A genocide long overdue. Time to make it happen before they blow the masquerade for us all.
Well, the Lasombra have a long history of infiltrating the catholic church and manipulating it from the inside out.
A ventrue calling anyone else insufferable is laughable at best.
😂They would know, right?
I'd say they'd be an expert on the matter
I'd say it's worth considering their opinion on it. Because as the seeming experts and being around it all the time, how bad does it gotta be when they say it is? 😮
How can so ancient and powerful creatures behave like teenagers and hooligans? That is the Sabbat
These videos are making me want to dust off my old books and dice. Love it.

I wouldn't say the Sabbat could destroy all other vampires, but yes, the schism between Lasombra and Tzimisce is holding the sect back.
Don’t be so over dramatic. Sabbat just know how to have fun.
Man! I didn't notice that you reached 1k subscribers! Congratulations 👏!
The Sword of Caine!
Oh I did all 3 so we good I've been of vampires since I was young and also Legacy Of Kain well what a hell of game that was.

Yeah, I like this guys video, but he doesn't know of sabbat lore. Many new players find it hard to grasp how the old Sabbat were the actual good guys

Yeah, the Camarilla v Sabbat conflict is less "good vs evil" and more "Lawful Evil vs Chaotic Evil".
We're all monsters, here.
They want to save all VAMPIRES. They don't give a flying crap about humans.
