I also used the part from the old bumper the truck came with for the spare tire tube. You just have to open it up with the clips and clip it on to the new one. It can get done in less than 20 or 30 minutes
I used a oem bumper an bolted right up with no cutting. Take the pad off if u have the bumper off. A lot Easier to wrap an reassemble off the truck. U can reuse the spare tire tube off your stock bumper if yours is 07-13 . New style trailer plug will plug right into factory harness. Even the harness to the license plate lights will plug back into bumper on the oem. Easy swap to do.
I've been looking into doing this swap on my 08 vortec max looks pretty strait forward. Where did you end up ordering the replacement inserts in the bumper from? Your clean truck is giving me more inspiration to keep pushing mine forward.

Shit I broke some plastic clips when I swapped my rear bumper from mine, I just changed it from stock black to chrome, it’s called trial and error👍👍✌️, trucks looking good

Hi would have liked to see a before shot with the stock bumper, and a side by side of the mounts. Tip: you can avoid breaking those plastic clips if you spay them with WD-40 first.

I have an OEM one, if I do the same trimming would that work on mine. I followed your link and it says that it won't fit my 09. Idk if that's because of the trimming or something else

Trying to put 2015 Silverado bumper on my 2009 GMC Sierra Denali and my mounting bracket holes are different don’t line up

@@tense95 license plate harness works... You can buy the two in one trailer plug at Advance Auto Parts it plugs into where the old one was

On my 2011 GMC I had to roll in the bed corners for the bumper to get it to fit. I've heard that apparently the GMC bed is wider supposedly. The 14 bumper i bought came off a Silverado

I remember when I did the 2014 conversion I did a lot of phone calls and yeah it was direct swap lol just with a little bit of wiggling
FYI on the OEM one you don’t have to trim that piece
