The best fish and chips in my opinion are cooked in animal fat on its own. Fat must not used to cook anything else, but fish n chips, otherwise the fish could be tainted. Of course in the sixties and earlier they were only done in animal fat. Chips were made on site, not from factories as is today.

i went to the Gold Coast QLD for a holiday and while i was there i remember this you tuber "gregs kitchen" recommended a fish n chippie close to where i was staying and man the food was (i'm not going to use the words i want to) but i would give it a 1 out of 10 because nobody else was there so i didn't have to wait long, even though it is close to the beach and in a tourist spot. i paid about $24 AUD for a greasy asf small fish, 1/2 scoop of chips and 6 tiny undercooked battered shrimp, was the worst fish n chips iv'e ever have and if that is the Australian standard then they really need to up their game. tl;dr i ate 10%, the 90% i couldn't eat ended up in the rubbish bin at the beach i didn't want the birds to suffer

Aussie and kiwi fish and chips best in the world
Hard to find good fish n chips in Aussie mate best fish n chips I been to was in Woy Woy on the Wharf Sydney fish market wasn't too bad but most places I been to there were average in NZ there's plenty of good spots if u know good spots in Sydney let me know cheers😊🤙🏽
i went to the Gold Coast QLD for a holiday and while i was there i remember this you tuber "gregs kitchen" recommended a fish n chippie close to where i was staying and man the food was (i'm not going to use the words i want to) but i would give it a 1 out of 10 because nobody else was there so i didn't have to wait long, even though it is close to the beach and in a tourist spot.
i paid about $24 AUD for a greasy asf small fish, 1/2 scoop of chips and 6 tiny undercooked battered shrimp, was the worst fish n chips iv'e ever have and if that is the Australian standard then they really need to up their game.
tl;dr i ate 10%, the 90% i couldn't eat ended up in the rubbish bin at the beach i didn't want the birds to suffer

Sorry to say most Aussie fish n chips shops I been to have been pretty average compared to what I've had in NZ on average fish n chips here is far superior mate no disrespect! IMO and I lived in Straya for 12 years and travelled around over there for my job for 5 years just saying cheers mate😊👍🏽
Didn't have to pay no one mate ask any Kiwi that's living in Australia what they think they will tell u the same there's things that a better there then here in my opinion like Lebanese food and good charcoal chicken.
