What a lot of these people don’t understand is that usually, people who have to interact with customers for their job are instructed to be kind to the customers no matter what. So answering all their questions, pretending like you’re enjoying the conversation, etc. is all something they have to do. They also cannot leave usually unless they feel like they are in actual physical danger.
I have a brother who thinks that talking to women trying to sell products at farmers market gives them something to do. Instead of doing nothing or waiting for customers, they are talking to him. Later on, when I was asking about if they got that band or the other band, I said "Do you have any Cannibal Corpse shirts without many gutted people?" and she got hysterical laughter. Even then, her being very nice, talkative and helpful I didn't make a move, simply because it's not appropriate to do when someone is working

So I work in retail, and I've just recently had something like this happen to me. It's a rarity, but that doesn't mean it's ok. Mostly we try to give hints that we're not happy with what's going on, and rush the checkout or interaction or whatnot. I wish we didn't have to do that.
It's definitely creepy, regardless of gender... this is why I always look at people's reactions and mood first before taking initiative because I have social anxiety and get heart arrhythmia when I mess up an interaction THAT BAD. I rather disconnect quickly and safely when I feel something is amiss, rather than continuing something that the third-party is obviously against at. Seeing the person you talk to being aloof and not smiling is one surefire way to go away... like far far away(in my case). I can handle rejections when it's mild, I try my best to avoid interactions that lead to NUCLEAR EVENTS.

So I work in retail, and I've just recently had something like this happen to me.
It's a rarity, but that doesn't mean it's ok.
Mostly we try to give hints that we're not happy with what's going on, and rush the checkout or interaction or whatnot.
I wish we didn't have to do that.
The twist to the whole story no one talks about is that the man was a lizard person. So she narrowly escaped.
It's definitely creepy, regardless of gender... this is why I always look at people's reactions and mood first before taking initiative because I have social anxiety and get heart arrhythmia when I mess up an interaction THAT BAD. I rather disconnect quickly and safely when I feel something is amiss, rather than continuing something that the third-party is obviously against at.
Seeing the person you talk to being aloof and not smiling is one surefire way to go away... like far far away(in my case). I can handle rejections when it's mild, I try my best to avoid interactions that lead to NUCLEAR EVENTS.

I used to work at Subway, and a guy was trying to get with me, he asked if I had any social media, I said no. He was going to leave, but then my co-worker, who is a grown adult women, nudged my shoulder and said "He's asking for your number 😁" Thinking that she was helping me out. I ended up giving my number, luckily I have already gave him a fake name, so whenever he decides to try to contact me every now and then (I have him blocked btw) he doesn't have my true name, and I don't think he caught on that maybe if someone doesn't respond back to any of your texts for at least a year, they're not interested in you.

When I was younger I used to act exactly like her. Then growing up I've learned that you have more chances to be safe if you're just acting straight up mean toward guys like that.
