    Blocking is important for a Tight End, but perhaps not that important.
    (PFF) 2022 season Travis Kelce finished the year ranked 15th at the position with a 61.2 run-blocking grade.
    Six tight ends recorded at least 800 receiving yards in 2022; Kelce had 802 yards after the catch.
    Evan Engram ranked third among tight ends with 88 catches; Kelce had 92 catches that resulted in either a first down or a touchdown.

    Washington’s numbers for the most part are better than Gronkowskis were. Gronk ran a 4.68 40. Washington is taller with longer arms and bigger hands. The only catoagories where Gronk wins are vertical by 2 more inches and bench press by 2 reps.

  • @NathanDean79
    @NathanDean79 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    CJ Uzomah at his pro day in 2015 his number were better than Washingtons. CJ is 1 inch shorter and weighed 2 pounds less than Washington and he ran a 4.62 had the same vertical CJs arms are longer Washingtons hands are bigger and Washington’s broad jump was 4 inches longer. The only thing Washington really beat CJ on was the 20 yard shuttle. Long speed CJ is better. Better 40 better 10 yard split. Bench press was the same for both. 21 reps.

    • @jakkeday1

      He may turn out to be the best TE of this draft if he goes to the right team and has a good coach to develop and utilize his skillset. I think he has the highest ceiling out of all the TE in the draft and could end up being one of the steals in the draft.

  • @florida1289
    @florida1289 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would kill my team if they drafted TE in round 1. My Detroit Lions have taken the TE ranked TE1 3× in 1st rd & twice in the top 10.
    All 3 TE's (Pettigrew 2009, pk 20), (Ebron 2014, pk 10), (Hockenson 2019 pk 8), all were average and wasted picks that set Detroit back as you cannot miss on your 1st rd pks especially top 10 pks.
    Detroit was 1-6 last year before trading Hockenson, smartly I might add, then proceeded to go 8-2.
    Don't draft a TE in round 1 it's the dumbest move you can do at the draft.

    I had to laugh when he said LaPorta doesn't break a lot of tackles, that's simply not accurate at all. He was third among all tight ends in yards after the catch this past year, and led all tight ends in broken tackles with 20; in fact, that figure ranks fifth among all tight ends over the last decade.

    Kincaid from Utah plays like a machine after he catches the ball and he has great ball skills. Washington is 6'7" and has great athleticism for Georgia. 49 catches for 1st downs (Kincaid, Utah).. it tells you about his character and drive in the game; only 2 drops. See what happens when you ask him to get the team fired up !!! Let's Go !! TE

    If the 49ers could get Darnell Washington, it would take so much load off Kittle in the run blocking. And with his wingspan the QB just needs to throw it up and he can grab it for an easy first down or a TD in the Red zone.

    Detroit Lions fan reviewing this in early 2024. I really like that Simms agreed with Rogers regarding LaPorta is solid all-around but not elite in anything. This links well to Simms' take on Arnold and Rakestraw this year. Perhaps, the Lions are finding that an all-around player is more useful than a player who is elite in one or two areas.
