    Jack Campbell reminds me of Brian Urlacher. Im not saying he will be like 54 or be a HOFer. Im just saying he has similar size and agility. I can't wait to see how his career goes.

    Need two separate mock drafts! One of what Chris would do if he was each team but also one of what the prediction is in terms of what the front office of each team will do.

    Greetings from London. Been a big time fan of Chris for a many years. Appreciate your eye for talent and honesty to just say it how you see it. Would love to see when all your top 5 position breakdowns are done, a Chris Simms top 10 pound for pound players in the draft.

    Right or wrong I love how Simms' ranking lists are agnostic to any other outlets or rankings anyone else puts out. I respect him doing his own homework and arriving at his own conclusions.

    You will probably never see this but Chris you are amazing at what you do and I want to thank you for not being a part of the sheep. One improvement suggestion is having more Tiers to where Tier 1 is Blue chip, Tier 2 onward to say in this draft we have no Tier 1 or 2 safeties but we got a Tier 1 rb for example

    I'm in 100% agreement with Sims on His analysis of "Quan" Martin I believe the guy is possibly one of the most underrated players in this upcoming draft definitely top 50 for me. Safety/Nickel DB hybrid that's a freak athlete kinda reminds me more of a physical Byron Jones as far as physical tools go.

    • @FantasySportsZen
      @FantasySportsZen ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I want him to play corner and tbh if Witherspoon wasn't there I feel like I'd like him even more, which I know is weird. Lol. He's a little tight in his hips and transitions but he might be really good.

    How is branch "not that much of a tackler" when he had 74 tackles this past season and only missed 3 total tackles out of 13 games? xD

  • @glenrobinson10
    @glenrobinson10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Brian Branch is a perfect fit for the Steelers defence if he falls to #32. They need both a slot corner AND a safety to go along with Minkah.

  • @franzdoreza5230
    @franzdoreza5230 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd love Jack Campbell for the bears.. he's got the old school seek and destroy style that works in Chicago..great instincts and football IQ and leadership.. can he learn more edge moves to play a more versatile role?
    He's not a heavy hitter but a sure tackler.. but very good in coverage because of length and smarts..

    @RKGrizz ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think Simms is being a little generous with calling a few of those 1st round LBs good, half of them have been benched in the past year. I have Henley as my #1 LB too but I expect Jack Campbell to go first.

  • @poojan21
    @poojan21 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Chris, love the pod.
    I appreciate that you don’t just go with consensus/groupthink and have popular names that you don’t just buy into hype on. We’ve seen a few be right (Jeff Okudah, Blake Bortles) and a few be wrong (Pat Surtain, Matt Corral). If there is a player in the draft that you may be wrong on, who are you most scared it would be? What would be the reason players like Will Anderson, Brian Branch, or Will Levis would exceed your expectations?
    PS my mind races when I’m trying to sleep too. I play music with a sleep timer and that helps

    • @poojan21
      @poojan21 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also curious, we’ve also seen teams put players in multiple and new positions that you may not expect, like Micah Parsons as a pass rusher and Deebo as a RB. If there is a player in this draft with that kind of position versatility or possibility to be put in different roles, who would it be and why?

  • @larkwyll7351
    @larkwyll7351 ปีที่แล้ว

    Simpson reminds me a bit of Jarrad Davis who the Lions drafted our of Florida. If he develops better awareness on the field he'll be special. Jarrad unfortunately was lost often on the field for us and a liability in coverage. If Simpson can be a coverage backer he'll have a good pro career.

    I like Jack Campbell....I like his speed.....I like his legs 🦵 and calves.....the way he moves his feet. I like his physical body. He's a good fit for the 49ers defense 💪

    • @yesiam4610
      @yesiam4610 ปีที่แล้ว

      off the line LB’s in the NFL that can’t play the pass get exposed, it’s becoming increasingly more mandatory to have playing time. Henley #1 I support completely, but its Campbell #2 simply for the pass coverage. I love me some Brandon Spikes but that build is only working in select packages/assignments sadly.

    • @rjharrold2907
      @rjharrold2907 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's so funny and him talking about old school linebacker as well as this comment is so funny to me because offensive linemen in the 1980s averaged at like 280 lbs lmao. It was just a different style game and not the same caliber athletically like it changed to in the 90s-2000s and kept evolving. Players are on average both bigger and more athletic in the modern NFL

    • @rjharrold2907

    Agreed on Branch, nickle CB, under-sized, slow for his size and as a nickle cb. Pro game is more about passing than running so a box nickle LoS guy is a pretty niche role for most teams.

    Simms, noticeably didn't mention Antonio Johnson, Battle & JL Skinner. The consensus on them is 2, 4, 5 respectively. Either way, safety is difficult to figure out, especially without all-22.

    I think its a mind numbing take to imagine thinking Zach Wilson has anything going for him that would make a team unsure if they wanna trade him away vs Trey who simply hasnt had his chance yet due to injury and the team he was on having a former starting QB still on the roster when he got there. If I was any of the 31 other NFL teams I would rather have Trey than Zach and its not even really close.

    • @FantasySportsZen
      @FantasySportsZen ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Zach Wilson has been hurt AND in an awful, awful situation. Not defending him here but people in general are too anxious to write guys off. Dont know where he is right now but the kid could sling it at BYU. He's too small (like..cough cough ..BY) but he could throw. Trey was always a project. Just sayin.

    • @shanem3843
      @shanem3843 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FantasySportsZen See I can tell by the points you made that youre just repeating he same points you hear from people on TV. The awful awful situation where the Jets had the OROY DROY in the same draft, almost made the playoffs in a competitive division with a significantly worse roster than SF AND the one that Mike White played in and actually looked much better than Wilson? Wilson didnt get so hurt he wasnt able to start all season they just didnt want to start him even when he was healthy. Wilson only looked that good his very last season in college, one good season from Lance and Wilson but Lances college season was better. They are both a "project" by that logic only Lance looked good in his few starts Wilson looked awful.

    I mean....Darn! What a FANTASTIC STORY! Last in the 2022 Draft..Brock Purdy, Mr. IRRELEVANT....right? And comes into the 49ers Miami game wins...and wins greatly...takes the 49ers to NFC Championship...gets hurt. The 49ers lose. Right? And he earns his way to be their guy!!! Their Quarterback!!! Right? And I keep hearing Nick Bosa's answer when a reporter asked him what did he think about Brock Purdy....and he said, "We got us a Quarterback. " And he was absolutely correct. The 49ers got their Quarterback. And it's Brock Purdy. What a FANTASTIC STORY! And Brock will come back like Joe Burrows stronger than EVER!!!

    I can maybe see Martin over Branch, but Sydney Brown? No. Misses too many tackles especially for a S. To say oh well hes faster, so thats why is lazy evaluating. He can break to the ball faster but can’t tackle so what does that mean? Also, Brown has been playing for 2 years and has had a DECENT not even good season…every season before this season hes been terrible. Prove im wrong.
