    I think that for serious drivers, the big selling point is that the Z06 is a sub-7 second Ring time at a lower cost than McLaren, Ferrari, etc. Before the Z06 I was thinking of a Porsche 911 Turbo S. When I added in what I wanted, it was $265K. I went through the same exercise with McLaren and it was over $300K.

      I understand but a lot of people on the list aren't going to be in a position to buy the car at this price point. I loved my c7 and I love my c8 but the cars aren't good enough for the options cost that they are demanding. A used 650 is the same price as a well equipped 650 and that means that they can't just rely on vette buyers they will have to draw out the exotic owners as well

      @@720sobsessed6 According to GM the median income of a C8 Corvette buyer increased $76,000 to $214,000, which IMHO indicates that GM has a different customer base now. I know the list that I am on, which is updated weekly, has not moved. Time will tell.
      Sadly most supercar owners never really use their car anyway...it is all for show. I rarely saw a Ferrari and never saw a Lambo at the track. Porsche is the exception and I enjoyed racing against them. There were always Corvettes there too.

      @@Pmtd1234 I'll take a c8 over almost any 911 forget the z06. I know a few people who are taking their names off the list but that sucks that ur not getting a quicker allocation I know were getting one of the first from our dealer. I think the z06 will be a test of how many real car people there are because on paper it should steal ferrari cliental but a lot of those buyers are too snobby to lose their badge

      @@720sobsessed6 Exactly, car snobs (Ferrari, Lambo, etc) will never buy a Z06. Track guys understand the benefit of the Z06 but there are not enough to make a difference. I am #234 at MacMulkin at MSRP. I believe their current list is in the mid-2000 range, so it will be interesting to see how that list changes.

      @@Pmtd1234 macmulkin will pump out 200 cars like nothing so ur in a good spot. My biggest point is that they will ultimately have to bring ferrari and lambo customers to the brand and that's a big fight because a lot of their buyers are clueless show offs

    It's a business and if it is already sold out how is that a bad problem? Other than not being able to make them fast enough.

    • @720sobsessed6
      @720sobsessed6  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a new business for chevrolet and the lists definitely got shorter. The bigger problem is for people that got outpriced in this not for gm their profits will be higher than with the projected msrp and stingray options plus 10 percent. The only good thing is for people in the hundreds or thousands on a list are definitely going to be moved up

    I think some of interior options are a little bit expensive. The exterior carbon options, Z07 package, CC brakes(C7 ZR1 has CCM-R brakes like the Senna) aren't to me, it's only that the C8 starts with less, that makes for more options and a some options that are a little bit overly expensive. If the C8 Stingray started at 90K in 2020, and the Z06 started at 145K in 2023 I think the Z06 could better compete with a 992.1 GT3 across the board(at 90% of a 992.1 GT3's cost) and not just with It's engine, including having a wet weight of under 3300lbs without resorting to a small fuel tank(the lightest dry weight as stated in a video interview by a Corvette engineer is 3434lbs and 5.5lbs per HP is 3685lbs so that's my wet weight guess). But Corvette Stingray's role keeps it at where it is. A 2/3 price 992.1 GT3 seems appropriate for what a person gets and it is except for the engine as is which would allmost be at home in a hypercar with a cost of 10+ times that a C8 Z06 and a entry level price C8 Stingray is also 2/3 the cost of a entry level 992.1 Carrara as well. A LT6 engineer in a video interview said that there was a few hundred reliable of unused rpm or a 9,000 rpm limit. At 5.6L(optimal balance between rpm limit/rate of rpm increase and power/torque) andand naturlly aspirated: 9000 rpm limit, 1.3 to 1 BSR, 104.8mm/4.125 bore × 80.6mm/3.175 stroke, 700(125 rated HP per liter) to 840 HP(150 rated HP per liter) or for forced induction: 8500rpm limit, 1.25 to 1 BSR, 103.6mm/4.080 bore × 82.9mm/3.265 stroke, 840(150 rated HP per liter) to 1870 HP(1680 WHP, 300 WHP per liter, with a 10% power loss to the wheels).

      In reality a 992 carrera at least one that has seats and floormats(everyone knows how bad porsches options are) is really double the price of a stingray. The z07 pack without the requirement of the carbon pack would be a good deal imo but I think everyone doing it is going with the visible carbon which makes the option nearly 20k. Carbon brakes on the z06 I see as a necessity considering how bad my c8 brakes are. We have senna brakes on our elva so I can attest to their ability. The 3lz is similar to the stingrays 3price but it's really the final pricing that ends up putting the car into a different category. The engine is great but a 458 flat plane crank can be comparable to the z06 and at 2020 pricing the car is similar price which is where I see the ferrari going back to soon. I'm sure the wait list will stay long it's a great car I just feel for some people who were looking forward to a car that they saw being 110 out the door and now they can't really afford it

      @@720sobsessed6 The Z06 used to be a upper middle class sportscar(especially with money accumulated over decades), now it's not, even more so with adjusted market value and inflation(highest standard of living in the US was in 1973), so I get the disappoint. But to get a sub 7 Nurbugring time 150K is the bare minimum.
