no worries - Thomas reviews all sorts, eBikes, vans, buses, food, travel, tyres - he could review a coffee cup or a brick and we'd get all the little interesting details, and we'd really enjoy watching the video! We hope he gets a chance to review more interesting machines and devices. Cheers.

Mb citaro is by far the best city bus and all the transport organizations should have it in their lineup. Brilliant that they keep up with the latest tech and produce the electric version.

@Autogefuhl, I think it's great that you are branching out to other forms of mobility as mobility is starting to play an even bigger role not just in the need for the world to be truly sustainable but for how people will live, work and socialise in the future. As you also pointed out in the video that air quality is being recognised as a major factor in the deterioration of people's health and well being today, and the number of people watching your videos from big cities is increasing all the time which means that this is starting to become a lot more relevant to people. London already has a few only electric bus routes with the USB charging ports and it won't be long before we start seeing these ECitaros buzzing about. Citaros were once popular in London in the form of the 15m bendy bus but that caused so many problems in terms of causing traffic, catching fire and killing a lot of cyclists which is why they were taken off. These Citaros will be a welcomed sight once gain and i look forward to seeing them.

Does this electric bus cost expensive for low budget country like Macedonia-Skopje.Mayor of center city gave info on tv he will import new electric bus for city because 2floor buses from a China spend alot of oil and fuel.

  • @ronkemperful

Enjoyed your review as always. Cheap fuel, the infrastructure of the roadways, and the low density of housing still limits the use of buses where I live in Colorado USA. But the day is coming sooner than we think when driving an automobile, especially one propelled by a fossil fuel, will be a luxury. I am one who appreciates the broad coverage that you always do of automotive-vehicle transportation.

@Autogefühl; Electric buses typical use nominal 600 V battery / motors. What is nominal voltage for the ECitaro?
Is the CCS charger HPC CCS (350 kW class)? What is max kW charging?
Are Oppcharge (reverse roof pantograph) planned for ECitaro?

Mercedes body and drivetrain. Buses and coaches are different than cars in that the body could be built by one manufacturer and platform & drivetrain by another. Hence it could have two different logos... But yeah, in this case they should the dropped the little one.

    • @hseochin
      @hseochin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You're absolutely correct. .i'll say that what should have been done in this case of the eCitaro is to size a smaller size star logo & increase the space seperation between the M-B coin badge & the star logo, like how it's done with the last generation facelift Citaro. That placement is about right in the proportion & spacing. They should not go overboard with change for the sake of change & instead stick with what's 'proven' & only 'change' if there's any 'real case' to do so.
High time Daimler exercise more consistency across their entire product portfolio & communicate this philosophy to their various design people in the various vehicle types so that everybody can speak the same design language ! This makes it also easier on the customer perception on what to expect each time they look at a Mercedes-Benz irregardless of type or model.

The VDL Citea E-Worker changing system is smarter and faster (it's like the electric transfer of a tram og electric train on certain destinations) But what's next from Daimler? Wouldn't it be smarter to mount the battery pack like a normal PKW lower in the chassis? But all the advantages of an electric system is know news, it is just smarter. No matter the system I really hope for this future sooner.

It's a start, but they can and will do so much better with a roof full of PV's. Lose the fabric seats...bad idea! They will most likely go to high power recharging with a high power charger mounted on the roof that could allow ultra fast recharging modules perhaps in 440V?

Qbuzz is using VDL electric busses in the north of the Netherlands already :). As far as I know they don't tip over, there are always people in the bus, so that lowers the centre of gravity quite a lot.

The charging is done actually pretty cool, it looks bit like the old trolley busses.

    Hi Thomas,
I was wondering what are your thoughts on the rumours that manufacturing full electric vehicle and its components produces more CO2 gases than the gases exhausted by a gasoline engine running for 10 years?

it depends on the use case and on how many km you run.
The latest study I read was that for passenger cars, the EV starts to be better after 30.000 km

Nice bus but the range is not good... especially in ermerging areas or for use in peak hours. There won't be enough time to recharge

Archie Makuwa the range is good enough for a city bus. you won't be going fast, and since it's mostly stop and go, you'll be recuperating energy via the brakes

The design of the front reminds me of 300 SL.

I would love to have quiet, clean busses in my city. No more hot air and exhaust blowing in your face while walking down the street.

@@autogefuehl yeah i saw it... anyone who has ever driven a city line knows 150-250km range is a joke. You cant work whit that. It needs at least 350-400km range
