I do not see any link in this comment but understands what you are talking about. Recording quality mainly depends on recording environment, microphone and audio interface. If anyone knows proper mixing technique with Audacity, he can produce amazing music with this.
It is never cheating. Of course you can change anything as long as your sound quality becomes better. Blindly applying the default bass boost and treble boost of Audacity most probably won't improve your voice. Better approach can be trying out different values and check which settings is actually suitable for that piece of recording.
@@MasterEditor5 THANKS FOR REPLYING! I'm actually relieved now because I felt like a fraud everytime I applied the treble and bass and the quality got better 😅 thanks for the effort btw ❤️
There is one final effect that should be done before you upload your audio to TH-cam...It's called Loudness Normalization. This should be set at -14 LUFS. If you right click on the video and go to"stats for nerds" then go to the third column down this will tell you if your loudness levels are too high or low...If they are too high YT will bring down the levels to the above setting but if they are too low they will NOT increase the levels of the audio..So all the volume/Normalization/compressor effects could be null & void should you not use this relatively new effect which has been introduced in Audacity..
@@MasterEditor5 I've been using Audacity for almost 10 years..I use a Rode U.S.B microphone to record my vocals..The big problem I find is getting the audio levels right ..Even within my own uploads I can hear some videos louder than others (while using the exact same settings)...Recordings done in professional recording studios always seem to sound louder on YT . Also I'm sure you're aware that there are many plugins which you can attach to Audacity.. for E.Q..Compressors..Reverbs etc..It's an excellent program.

Hello! I'm watching thise video because I'm planning on starting a minecraft youtube channel project. And I want to offer the best of me to my audience. By the way, what is the name of this realm? Audio treatment?
@@MasterEditor5 Quick question for you: There was one recording where after I did the noise reduction, I sounded like a robot, my voice lost that softness. It was strange. Has that ever happened to you?
Would you recommend applying this process to every audio recording you make moving forward? I've noticed that Audacity saves your preferences and applies them to all recordings moving forward.
This is a bit generic guideline. You may want to apply all the 4 steps on most of your Audio but preferences may change. For example Your Audio sample can have less noise, so you can set a less noise reduction value. Also you may need to set different compression settings or normalization value depending on your Audio recording. In short these are the steps to improve Audio quality, but the proper settings comes with understanding what is does and of course with experience :-)
If you've got a good intonation, and have neither a thin reedy voice nor a monotonous low one, why do you need EQ at all? I don't think my recording needs that sort of support.
That's right. EQ can act like a noise reduction with low roll off for speech. Normally voice do not have anything below 80 hz, but certain noise can be in those frequencies. Also treble boost can make sound bit crisper. But if these presets do not enhance sound, EQ can be ignored.
I found this useful. But I still downvoted it, because of the robotronic uptalk voice inflections. I hate THAT? Robovoices must be DEFEATED? Will you please stop using THEM?

dear sir, i have been using audacity for the last 7-8 years. i have recently updated it to version 3.1.2. i have been using karaoke tracks available in you tube and other channels and record instrumental songs played in my key board and upload to my channel in you tube. i have been playing the instrumental tune in the same pitch of the karaoke track. But for the last 2-3 days, audacity is recording my instrumental track up by 2 pitches than the actual pitch in which i play the tone. i am not able to understand why it is doing it. My audacity project rate (Hz) is 44100 and i changed it to 44800 but in vein.... please help me how to enable audacity to record in the pitch which i play my key board and not in different pitch.....
Thanks for your comment. I would be very glad to help you, but I no experience with instruments in Audacity. I only work with voice over. I think channels that works with instrument in Audacity may help you. Another thing you can do, install older versions of audacity and check if it is working there.
great tutorial!
Hi, what AI Voice software, are you using?
azure tex to speech
Bro do you have hands on TDR NOVA?
Not yet but I will look into it!
@@MasterEditor5 are you an audio engineer?
@@user-xu9ji3kr3j No, I am a software Engineer. But I am an audio enthusiast.
@@MasterEditor5 okay! This eq thing is kinda confusing, besides cutting the high and low frequencies rest everything seems confusing. If eq boosts base and treble then what's the function for base & treble option in audacity?
@@user-xu9ji3kr3j EQ is the way to manipulate frequency. Bass and Treble is the way to manipulate frequencies in the bass and treble area. Whereas EQ gives you the freedom to boost or cut any frequency range you like
Thank you so much ,best tutorial so far...❤️
You're very welcome! Very glad to hear that :-)
Really helpful for podcast production. I couldn't make normalization work for me before, then I started using compression instead -- didn't realize I'd get the best result compressing and *then* normalizing. And I didn't have to watch a crappy 40-minute video to learn it! Really good work here.
Excellent tutorial..but in the end it's all trial & error...Another tip when you listen back to the finished recording..Do not use headphones alone ..use speakers, earphones, earbuds etc..This will give you a more clearcut idea of the audio quality... Remember that now days folks watch and listen to most stuff on their phones.
You are speaking my mind! Nowadays I think of making an improved version of this tutorial and you just expressed excellently my thoughts on that. You are also giving some valuable inputs. I think those will help the viewers as well.
Btw Everytime i have to edit my Voice in audacity, i have to watch this Video to See what to do, Thx for the Video!
You are welcome 😊
@@MasterEditor5 👍
Thank you very much for this tutorial. It was really helpful.
You are welcome! It feels so great to know it helped :-)
Hi could you please help me record a song over an instrumental version so my finished song is completed with music and audio, by the way it’s just covers and no intention to break copyright acts of the owner❤
I do not work on projects at the moment
@@MasterEditor5 No worries
Hi this sounds like an artificial voice to me and a damned good one!
If it is, where did you get it from?
Thx in anticipation! John
Welcome :-). Yes, this is AI generated voice. I use Microsoft Azure Text to Speech. I also have a couple of videos on this topic. th-cam.com/video/_CJX1QPnaig/w-d-xo.html
and th-cam.com/video/SwjUw_LLdbY/w-d-xo.html

Yes, quite some options there
Thanks!

Which is better -1.0 or -5.0?
Depends on how loud the recording is. Choose a value so that playback meter is around - 9 to - 6
❤️ Happy New Year, 2022… 🌅🌅🌅🌅🌅
Happy new year!
I met a guy in Wynwood who claims he uses audacity to record all his music, but his production quality is insane! here's a link to his stuff @ give this a listen, you think he was pulling my leg! or can you do this with audacity!?
I do not see any link in this comment but understands what you are talking about. Recording quality mainly depends on recording environment, microphone and audio interface. If anyone knows proper mixing technique with Audacity, he can produce amazing music with this.
@@MasterEditor5 wow, so you can really get this on audacity!?
Yes, give Audacity a try and you won't be disappointed :-)
@@MasterEditor5 downloading! this is amazing! I can't believe it's free!
You have a MacOS?
Yes, big sur

thank you

Is changing the bass and treble of my voice considered cheating? Like am I improving the quality of the recording or am I enhancing my voice?
I was not aware of this stats for nerds thing. Excellent sharing. I will add your information in the next video I make on this topic. Thank you :-)
@@MasterEditor5 I've been using Audacity for almost 10 years..I use a Rode U.S.B microphone to record my vocals..The big problem I find is getting the audio levels right ..Even within my own uploads I can hear some videos louder than others (while using the exact same settings)...Recordings done in professional recording studios always seem to sound louder on YT . Also I'm sure you're aware that there are many plugins which you can attach to Audacity.. for E.Q..Compressors..Reverbs etc..It's an excellent program.
Byw you are using text to speech ?
Yes, but the method works
@@MasterEditor5 is this paid or what ?
@@gamingarmy4307 Azure text to speech. Free to some extent then paid

Welcome ☺️
Anyone know how to get your recordings to sound better without running through the filters
Which filters?
How can we have multi tracks with Audacity? I know a man who can have multi tracks of the songs.
I have couple of videos on multi track recording and editing. Here is one you can check : th-cam.com/video/_aTZo9sr4NE/w-d-xo.html
The narration is done by a computer voice, right?
Yes, technically it is computer generated human voice. First a good chunk of human voice is recorded. Then using AI that voice can read any text like that human.
nice sharing💯
Thanks ☺️

Not sure what did you mean
@@MasterEditor5 Sorry sorry, it was just for my information so I could come back
Oh, okay. I thought you were asking something in those times. :-)
Hello! I'm watching thise video because I'm planning on starting a minecraft youtube channel project. And I want to offer the best of me to my audience. By the way, what is the name of this realm? Audio treatment?
You can say audio editing or voice editing
This video was so helpful. Thank you so much! My guided meditations sound so much better :)
Welcome 🙂
@@MasterEditor5 Quick question for you: There was one recording where after I did the noise reduction, I sounded like a robot, my voice lost that softness. It was strange. Has that ever happened to you?
@@maroyoga what was the value of frequency smoothing bands and noise reduction?
@@MasterEditor5 frequency smoothing bands is at 3. noise reduction at 12
@@maroyoga try with frequency smoothing band of 0. voice changes a lot with 3
Would you recommend applying this process to every audio recording you make moving forward?
@@MasterEditor5 Thanks for the clarification -- appreciated : )
Thanks. Very helpful

yes
Is it just me or does the un-edited one sound better ??
I its think because of the AI voice.
May be, I have latest videos where I improved my voice :-). You may want to check that.
the voice from the project is computerized though..
yes, I am also making a channel with my voice. I hope soon I can release my own voice version

Ironic that a tutorial (great, btw) about how to improve your voice is actually read by a computer.
You didn't even use your own voice man
Apology for that. In my recent videos I have used my own voice for the demo voice. Nonetheless described method works.
@@MasterEditor5 No yeah you're right . I've been looking for a nice straight-forward tutorial! I didn't mean to sound rude. I will definitely check out your channel :)
Why are you using an artificial voice?
For a clean instructions. My environment has some strong background noise, working on it. But the process shown here works 🙂
Why use an AI voice on a video about improving vocals? that undermines your credibility which is unfair to you because this is a really good guide
I live in a noisy environment. It is lot of works to get a noise free recording. In this video I applied effects on AI voice. In my recent videos, I have used AI instructions but for demo voice I used my own voice.
