I've not heard of it used for bladder cancer but you need to contact the University of Florida, Proton Radiation Dept in Jacksonville, Florida for the answer.

I had this done about 6 months ago. I don't know if it is from this procedure or from getting Elgrad injections but i can not longer get an erection.
Yep cryo will take away your erections 100%...
How are you today? I hope the erection came back. Got a PSA of 10. Had an MRI which does not look good.

It is unfortunate that the replies below are so negative. Eleven years ago I received Proton Radiation therapy and I am still cancer free. Has it not been used in Australia? My story is published in a cancer journal there in Australia whose name I have forgotten. I'll find it........

@@MrsJakas ......I received the treatment at the Proton Radiation Center, University of Florida, Jacksonville, Florida, in 2008.. It was paid for by my medical insurance. I fear my memory is leaving me..... the publication was either Australian or Swiss and I simply cannot remember the name. It is a very large newsletter with hundreds of men writing in with their experiences.... I will search for it.....

I received my treatment at the University of Florida's Proton Therapy unit, in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2008. I was covered by my health insurance from my job, but had to pay all of my room and board, which was a couple of months rent and food, plus my gas to drive there.... It must have been maybe $2000 or so out of pocket, but I felt it was necessary. That's maybe changed by now...... The publication is www.yananow.org, an Australian publication that I highly recommend........ It stands for 'you are not alone now'........

Back in 2005 I thought about HIFU but I did not have $20,000 in my back pocket so I opt for open surgery. ED was a major issue, incontince has not been an issue until the last year or so.I fixed the ED issue.Issues before my cancer and then after cancer gender dysphoria came to the front. I wish I could ask UCLA this question.

l believe it is the lengthy time period required...... 38 hours at 1 hour each day, so it was 8 weeks total I think. Thus it requires one to rent a room for the period, which was about $1000 out of my pocket, but the treatment itself was covered by my health insurance from my workplace. Perhaps some of this has changed by now, but the Proton Radiation Dept. at the University of Florida, Jacksonville, Fl. can tell you if you call them.
Other patients already affected by Doctors. Life is not fair. Wish I never undergone any of cancer tests, biopsy, prostatectomy. You already ruined our lives
