Thanks to you, cooking with Lau and a few others I'm am slowly increasing my Asian cooking ingredients. I just bought Chinese vinegar (I'm so excited about it because I love my food vinrgary too) and some hot chili crisp oil. I'm excited to use them. I'm going to make some dumplings this weekend and use the vinegar and chili oil for dipping sauce. I've always known Asian was my favorite food genre but I've never really cooked those foods. I'm excited for this new kitchen adventure.

The girl and the goat is one of those tongue in cheek (ha) top chef restaurants that I've always THOUGHT I'd want to go to.. But now, seeing it 'live', I'm like, no thank you. I'd prefer to read the menu than eat the food.
It looks like it was made for Instagram and frequented by the sort that tear down original Polish flats in Chicago and put up the big square generic mansions with underground parking that remove street parking for everyone else, yet building them close to El stations so they can leave their cars parked under their house while pushing working class people further from the train.
I love eating in Chicago but for whatever reason it's a much overlooked food destination. Downtown, outskirts, suburbs...there's something for everyone at every price level. Can't wait to get back.

Everyone there will take the utmost care of you and will serve you a highly intricate and special experience
Spicy art is me and my girlfriends favorite spot in that food court. You can’t go wrong there…ever. Potato noodle also makes an amazing braised chicken dish.
The food at The Girl and the Goat looks good. But pricy for the portion sizes. $17 for the empanadas, $17 for the oysters, $23 for the pig face, and $34 for that pork shank. That adds up pretty quick. I like the concept, but it seems a bit overpriced.
We got a lot of those "small foods" type of restaurants here where I live, afterwards it always makes me think to never go to these types of restaurants again and just eat street food instead

Next time in Chicago try Chicago Cut! Porterhouse is awesome! My favorite is bone in ribeye. Oysters are phenomenal. All seafood is flown in fresh daily. Best steakhouse in Chicago
I was just at Maple & Ash on Saturday. Beautiful atmosphere and the food is superb. Let's just say it's a must go to and I worked it to be in my budget every 5 weeks lol..

Maple and Ash is our favorite restaurant! Nothing beats their food not even Bavettes. If you ask ahead of time they can print something special on your menu for you to keep!

Maple and Ash is fantastic, suuuper pricey but man is it good. You should definitely check out Alinea (not that far away from Maple and Ash) as well, as well as the Chicago Pizza staple that is Giordano's!!! And I highly recommend Elephant and Castle pub, very good food there too and connected to the Club Quarters Hotel.
You should go to Qing Xiang Yuan Dumplings next time you’re in Chicago!! It’s right by Richland center and everything is homemade and delicious!!!! I like the lamb and carrot dumplings from there!

Mikey I know you prefer the meats but I found the veggie dishes at the girl and the goat to be better. Sat at the chefs table and watched somebody pan fry cauliflower in lard for 1.5 hours and it was glorious. Then go get some okonomyaki for dessert at the little goat after

I love how descriptive he is with the taste. I can actually imagine how good the food taste.
I do that too now whenever I eat, but only in my head. Makes me appreciate the food more, and see the subtle hints of flavour.
