- On day two of our mega cross-country road trip adventure, we leave Florida and head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with fun stops along the way. We visit the gorgeous Alabama Welcome Center, visit our favorite road trip pit stop, Buc-ee's, tour the USS Alabama battleship and the USS Drum submarine, deal with some major unexpected delays and incidents on the I-10, from fires to traffic incidents and hours long highway back ups. We finally make it to Baton Rouge, hours later than expected, for an also unexpectedly delicious and cozy wine bar dinner, and spectacular views of the Mississippi River! I'm sure you all know what we're headed to Texas for, so here's hoping for clear skies, but no matter what, we are going to make the best of this monumental occasion and share it with you in the next video! Thanks for all the love on this road trip, every day is going to look different and there is SO MUCH more to come as we make our way across the United States! See you soon for the next vid, lots of love!

Thank you for being with us for this epic adventure, USA coast to coast!!
Jackie, I wanted to share this with you because you bring me such joy. In 2017 I was diagnosed with cancer, needless to say it was a hard journey, but that is when I found your channel. On my really bad days I binge watched your channel.
I was just told the cancer came back. This road trip series is bringing me happiness! I wanted to thank you for helping me through the hard times in my life and just let you know how happy I am you do these fun videos!!!
❤️❤️❤️
GOD BLESS YOU'RE HEART
Sending you blessings and prayers for continued recovery and strength! 💕💕💕
God, please put your healing hands on this woman. Give her strength and let her trust in you. Amen. Keep the faith.🙏
Claustrophobic on the sub for sure .
You’re in my thoughts and prayers! I’m possibly going through the same thing. Jackie makes it so easy to feel like you’re right there with her! Definitely my favorite channel. I’m just another Super Enthused fan….Sending a hug out to you!
My wife and I loved your video! We live in Marrero, a New Orleans suburb. I’m also a US Navy veteran. I served on a ballistic missile submarine. 150 crew members patrolled underwater for three months at a time. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Awww, my hometown of Baton Rouge!! Love seeing the downtown footage!!
Jackie, we went to Pensacola late April and we went and visited the USS Alabama memorial as well as the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola and saw the Blue Angels on their return home from Georgia. Love these travel vlogs
New Orleans Resident here. It was fun seeing you go through my neck of the woods! We went to Panama City Beach early April, in fact we were in Destin on the day of the Eclipse. It rained and so we didn't see anything. 27:20 imagine if it looked over at you! NOPE!
If that was Mexican bottled coke then it does actually taste different because it has sugar cane instead of high fructose corn syrup!
Yay! Day 2! It's awesome to see how much changes from 1 day to the next. Also, it couldn't be a road trip without being backed up in traffic for hours at least once! How lucky are we now to have GPS on our phones!? Years ago we would be doing our best trying to follow pages and pages of Mapquest directions to get us through our journey or even beyond that, an Atlas! Excited for day 3!
Thank you for the tour of the USS Alabama. My grandfather served on that ship during WW2, going all over the South Pacific. I really appreciate being able to see it, it looks massive!
Stay safe!
That’s so cool!!
The Room at Baton Rouge was gorgeous.
I hope the people involved in the crash were OK. Fate is a funny thing sometimes, you'd never have had that shrimp bake if hadn't been delayed.
Looking forward to the rest of your journey
Is there an award on TH-cam for most consistently entertaining channel? If so why haven't you won?
❤
Thank you for taking me on a unique and educational journey with you!
Thanks. Very interesting and dinner looked great. Want to visit the place. ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great video. I drive by the Battleship on my many trips from Houston to Orlando, but never stopped there. Thanks for showing how the museum is like. I may have to make a stop on my next trip to Orlando.
Been to the battle ship and museum on my visit to Mississippi...🎉❤❤ My favorite was the SR-71 Blackbird... But still no Buc-ees 😅😅😅
If I had a childlike "YOU," my life would've been Heavenly. . Love from retired senior lady.
The time lapse of the river at night was amazing.
we’re planning a road trip in the opposite way… from Texas to Florida 😁 but we want to visiti all six parks.. like the old days check-out from Disney and check-in in Universal.. waiting for Epic Universe
As a navy veteran, I can tell you the way we went down those stairs was leaned back, feet up and slide down the rails on your hands...not that I could do that today, mind you, but that's how it was done. Loving the road trip so far! 👏🤘✌️🤙👍👊
The best thing to do with a great view like that hotel and you’re tired, is order in pizza and beer and take a rest. ❤
Love this videos!! Also, in corpus Christi they have a ship very similar to the Alabama, and in October they do a haunted house!! It's super freaky and tight and really adds to the madness
Yes the Lexington!!
Looks like a lot of fun! I would have been checking out the SR-71 Blackbird though! I've always wanted to see one in person! That plane is incredible!
Love the time lapse clip at the end. Nice touch!
Love this video Jackie and Sam!! Wow the view of the Mississippi river and the bridge looks beautiful at sunset!! That is a huge balcony! Glad you guys got there safe that was a bunch of traffic that you guys got into!! so cool you went through Alabama and Mississippi!! The food, looked really good at the restaurant!! It’s awesome. You guys went to Buckys. Looks so cool inside and there’s so many options in there!! The submarine and battleship was so cool and awesome to go through!! in the battleship, it did look very small. I would definitely feel a little claustrophobic from the very small tight spaces!! lol felt bad for Sam that he got stuck in both ships between people trying to get out of it!! ❤️❤️😊🥰❤️❤️😊😊
The U.S.S. Alabama is really awesome. I would love to go back one day. The food in Baton Rouge looked wonderful! Y'all stay safe out there. Take care. ✌️
wow..cool tour of the battleship and sub. We've done a road trip from Tampa to New Orleans and went through that area but didn't think to stop. Seeing bright eyes a bit upset coming off the sub was not fun...so used to seeing her so upbeat. But I get it. Sam stepped in and got some video so great teamwork.
You guys are amazing, I love the videos, I send you my love to both of you
After watching one of your buccees blogs I was so excited to go to one. Just visited the Madinsonville one in Texas. It was so overwhelming but also so cool. Thanks for showing buccees 🙂
Those fires looked worrisome and so sorry for the car accident. Thinking about the Families. One of my Uncles would have enjoyed the Alabama ship and the submarine. I probably would have admired the submarine from the outside.
I live in Lafayette, LA about a hour west of Baton Rouge. If you are traveling west on I -10 you will be passing through my city.
We live in Pensacola and travel to alabama alot. It was neat to see the trip that we make all the time, through your eyes! BTW people do honk in the Mobile tunnel 😉
My son is on the USS Eisenhower. He has been there since early November without a port call. The nuculear power powers the entire ship for 5,000 military personell. Fighter jets are so cool!
Oh wow!!! Hope he can come home soon. Bless him!
I remember the fires in central Florida off of I-95. Pretty heavy at times.
Hi guys thanks for the tour 😊 and sharing your adventures as always waiting for more
I had no idea that such a museum existed. Battleships, warplanes, holy Moses! You have inspired me to take that long trip!
So cool to see you stop in my hometown! (Mobile).
How fun. Hiccups along the way change things but u adjust see different stuff and tomorrow's a new day. Can't wait. Good night don't let the bed bugs bite 😂 jk ❤.
Looks like Sam has really taken to the American lifestyle there 😲
Great Vlog from your 2nd Day of your Cross Country road trip
😎What a Nice Cozy place you found to end the long day! And a wine bar to boot🥂
You guys always have So much fun😍
btw, I could listen Sam talk All day long😎
It's incredible how a few glasses of wine can put a new spin on the day ☺️ I like your graphic with your car on the map with the mini you’s in the car. I appreciate Sam coming to the rescue with his “Sam Cam” I hope you enjoy the 🌒I almost forgot. Your balcony time lapse is epic. 👍
Sometimes it all works out in the end. I'm headed to Southern Illinois tomorrow for the Eclipse. 😊
Great video!!
I am just west of Cleveland & we are in the eclipse path...they are saying partly cloudy @ eclipse time (3:15).
My son lives just west of Destin & we toured the battleship on 1 of my visits there - very interesting!!!
Jackie, my dad passed away on March 3rd. Now both of my parents are gone. I have been catching up on your videos and it helps get my mind off of things. Let's get a heads up the next time you come to Destin. I am about 35 - 40 miles NNW of Destin. I would love to meet both of you. Hopefully when you come back it won't be so windy. You probably came into my hometown of Crestview when you got on the interstate. You got to see some back roads by gettung off of the interstate. So it wasn't too bad. Thank you for all of the hard work and sharing your trip with us. Loving it so far. Can't wait to see what is ahead. Have fun and be safe. ❤ By the way, tomorrow, Monday, the 8th, is my birthday. I get a solar eclipse for my birthday.
So glad y'all arrived safely!
I cannot tell a lie - I would have run to claim the kiddie coaster credit 😂 Every little circuit counts! Haha roll tide! We drove to sweet home Alabama from Baltimore last year so to recover one of our friends for a longer trip. There are some really long stretches of flat, grassy nothingness, but there’s a lot of cool naval sites like the USS Alabama and the USS Drum too! Also the only state to offer Milo’s Hamburgers, which surpassed expectations considerably. I don’t fear the dentist the way that I know some folks do…but I will admit that the dentist’s office aboard the ship did look a bit more intimidating than most. 😅 It’s amazing how many people will fit inside a submarine, too - if (and only if) you pack them in like sardines! Sam and I are kindred spirits, I can’t drop below 90 miles to empty without getting nervous about the ‘what ifs’ lol but the over-preparation comes in handy during moments of crisis! It’s a little bit sad to see all the fires in Mississippi, but hopefully everyone is OK and they were able to put out all of the flames. Glad you made it safely to your destination in the end, despite the backup. Love that you two are blazing a trail between different Hampton Inn’s across the country haha and what a view from your balcony! I think you have earned yourselves a couple glasses of wine, to be sure 😉 Great video!
Hahah the amount of Hampton inns on this trip is pretty funny!! And the keeping the car full of gas proved to be really helpful this time, it’s smart for sure!! If that place was open, we def woulda gotten that coaster credit too lol!!!
Stay enthused no matter what is a beautiful sentiment. As difficult as it may be, that is the best way to live relaxed, happy, and hopeful. Really needed to hear that today. Glad as always to share in both your adventures.
glad you all made it okay ... buc-ees has some cute merch can't wait to check one out one day ... lookin fwd to todays content when it comes out
That is one big ship. Thank You for the tour. Traveling by car is a great way to see the United States
That submarine gave me anxiety. I have claustrophobia. It was really cool, though.
I live in an area prone to wildfires and while you get sort of used to seeing the smoke there is always that bit of uneasiness until you can tell where it is coming from.
Road trips are the only vacations we can do so this video series is really fun!
if you are ever in the Chicago Area, you should visit the U-505 German submarine in the Museum of Science and Industry. It is indoor and they have a guided tour
How great it was to see one of my favorite vloggers sharing the USS Alabama in my hometown! Y'all did a wonderful job showing how beautiful it is out there at the park. Also, I so appreciate that you pronounced Mobile correctly!! You wouldn't believe how often people mispronounce it!! Thank you so much!! Looking forward to seeing what other adventures you have on your trip.
I’m so glad I got that one right!! It’s tough with all the different pronunciations out there.
This road trip journey is going to be fun. Thanks for tagging us along!
You would wicked dig Battleship Cove in RI.
Last weekend, my grandson and I went to Gatlinburg, and the tunnel on the way back to Pigeon Forge said no honking. That was the first time in my life, other than when they had workers in the tunnel, that I didn't honk. It felt so weird not to honk. 😢😢😢 So sad. It's been a tradition.
Great video I get my travel Adventure vicariously through you❤
Thank you to Sam for the submarine videos! I visited the US Alabama ship, but I don't think we went into the sub. Even the narrow stairs on the ship seemed really small to me. Lots of up and down tiny stairs! Interestingly, my youngest son is in Seminary in Boston, and he is talking to Navy chaplains about joining the Navy as a Chaplain. He will likely end up on one of the subs, but definitely a ship. He will have his own quarters for sleeping and can dine in the officers dining hall, but he will most likely will dine with the sailors to get to know them and have them feel comfortable with him. I was enlisted in the Air Force, so no ships for me. But enlisted life is similar for all the forces.
I just got back from my insane road trip to North Carolina from East Texas. Over 2K miles total, but I was a bit north of y'all as I took I-20 most of the way.
Awesome video Jackie and Sam safe travels
I hope Sam bought the Bucee’s shirt!
Wow, you guys are experiencing a city that I used to live in back in the 90s and I could tell you it doesn’t look like that back then you guys are looking at the new downtown Baton Rouge even I didn’t know it look like that. They’ve changed everything they used to be a battleship part right down there not too far from your hotel on the Mississippi river. I don’t know if it’s still there or not, you would’ve seen it if it was
I just road tripped from Ohio to Louisiana 🥹 buccees is always the vibe! I was in baton rouge too. So much fun following along 🎉
I’m home with a fractured hip, so I decided to binge watch your channel. I’ve got to get caught up! Jackie… it’s like taking a road trip with my best friends!! Thank you for all that you do!! Much love from Maryland.
I really enjoyed the tour of the ship and sub. If you guys get to San Diego, go tour the USS Midway. It’s another battleship. My uncle was on it! Sam is too big a guy to be on a Sub. Lol
Love your road trips, be safe
This already has been an epic video series can’t wait for all the rest of them Jackie and Sam are so honest down to earth people 😊love them
Your road trip vlogs are my absolute favorite! My husband and I watch every single one of them! We love you both and you make us excited to get out see the country! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos! Love you both and safe travels!! ❤
Great road trip. Thank You for all the information.
Nice time-lapse!
100% agree with you about Buc-ees!! Also 100% agree about the chopped brisket sandwich 🤤😋😋😋
"This video is sponsored by the letter "B"!" 😄🐝
Sometimes plans fail but you end up with something better like that shrimp 🍤 dish 🧀 😊
” it taste like a rock" "it’s good, but it taste like a rock" 😂😂😂😂 you guys are hilarious!!
Super cool
We lived in A.Z. and my son did the C.P. program in Disney a couple of times and moved to Orlando. That ride on the 10 was always an experience. Texas was another long 10 hour drive. Hope you find fun things to do along the way. Enjoy!
My Son has been in the Navy for 20 years and has a few more left! ❤
Welcome to Texas! Home of Buc-ees and everything else that is bigger in Texas! 😊 We are excited about the eclipse. Just not sure about weather. 🤔
I hope you're drive to Texas doesn't have any delays. Glad you were able to make it through.
I can’t even get on Mission Space at EPCOT! I’m highly claustrophobic!! I’ve known plenty of people in the Navy. Don’t know how they go underwater for months on end.
My husband’s brother-in-law was a former Commander of the Ballistic Missile Submarine USS Alaska. That meant he was 3rd in charge of the entire vessel. Even though he’s retired, we all still call him “Commander”.
Thanks for the tour Jackie & Sam!
Fun Fact: The Exceptional Steven Seagal /Tommy Lee Jones action movie Classic UNDER SIEGE was largely filmed on and inside the WWII battleship you were visiting
So glad your room was well worth it once you got there after a horrible journey; that balcony looks fantastic! 😊
Mobile ,AL is my home town & we are going to the battleship park this weekend to fly kites .
Girl! You were in my neck of the woods! Loved the video!
My brother would absolutely love the battle ship museum as he's into history especially WW1 and 2 history.
This battleship is 1 hour from me! I went during Covid. They had a kite festival on the same day. Great stop
Love to road trip with you and Sam. Thank you so much for sharing. Stay enthused💙💙
Welcome to my home state; sweet home Alabama❤️
Louisiana is a whole different world. Glad you enjoyed it.
❤ Aw love road trips, My husband and I used to do them, miss them.
Love a good road trip! Thanks for taking us with you. ❤❤
-western NY Aimee
Thank you. For another fun road trip vlog. I am still interested in battleships and submarines. My husband is still serving in the Navy ( since 1998). He was a submariner for several years early on. And I was able to tour nuclear subs he was on and heard sorts all of undersea/ underway adventures. It does take a certain type of person to handle going out to sea let alone under for so long. Thanks to all those that continue to do so to serve this great nation. I do enjoy visiting those diesel old subs and surface ships- amazing. Hope you two have a safe and smooth journey.
Thanks for stopping by Mobile again! I love all of your videos but I think the road trip videos are some of my favorite 😊
We joke that serving on navy ships is what made my dad go bald with all those short doors
That’s a good one!
The New Disney Joke is going to be, Everytime you Go to Louisiana, Show us the Mountains of the Bayou 😄
Hope the clouds stay away for your eclipse experience! I live in northeast Texas and we'll be watching from our front yard!
Im so claustrophobic i had to skip ahead when you were in the sub. Gave me anxiety...lol
Those fires were most likely controlled burns that were set deliberately. Florida has them too. They do this to reduce down trees, branches, leaves, pine litter and such to promote a healthier forest.
You came to Texas and drove right by me
First off , everyone that takes road trips be safe. 😮 y'all saw the USS Alabama 😊 wasn't it amazing to see😃 We drove there on back Old Highways, that my Dad drove on Being a Truck driver for 38 years , he knew the old ways would be better to drive than interstate. My Dad told us we need to see a part of history at least once in our lives, so we went in 2019 and my Sister and I were in our late 30s years old. However, He drove us from Dyersburg Tennessee all the way to Biloxi Beach Mississippi, we saw a couple of tree fires to😮 for a beach vacation from May 25 to May 31 stayed at the Hyatt Place hotel , which was amazing hotel delicious 😋 food nice people and rooms. Anyway, after we get sleep for one night. My Dad drove us from Biloxi all the way to the USS Alabama Battleship. It was a long drive for us, but worth it. We Did the Red Tour only and it was wow😮 Really hard for me with my Disabilities and my Poor Service Dog Daisy had to be carried up and down the steps from my Dad. It was wow😮 We did it and enjoyed looking around outside and inside the Alabama Battleship. We took a rest in shade outside on the ship, then went up and up and saw the Captain area and more it was wow😮 very tight to move around in😮 Then after a 2 hours of looking around all over that we could do on the USS Alabama ship. We went inside the building and had a very delicious 😋 Lunch. Then we went to tour the Submarine 😮 it was crazy my Dad having to get my Service Dog Daisy down in that tight space. We walked around for an hour. Then we got out and toured the planes and stuff then we Drove all the way back to Biloxi Beach Mississippi to have rest of our vacation, which was wonderful. Oh, my Service Dog Daisy had dog shoes on the whole time at USS Alabama, it was way to much for her to hurt her paws on if she didn't wear dog shoes. Back in Biloxi We ate at the Hard Rock Hotel Cafe and it was delicious and we tried to enjoy the Beach, but Sadly it wasn't that clean, people left trash and stuff on Beach, but we still enjoyed looking at the ocean every day of our vacation. They had a nice Aquarium just one town over that's was awesome. Anyway, it was an interesting vacation before all that Covid pandemic happened. Hope Y'all Continue Having Very Safe Adventures. ENJOY LIFE😊 Be Safe Take Care ❤😊
I’m so excited because they’re getting ready to open a buc-ees here in Arizona!! I’ll have to send you pics when it opens!!??
