I have an hour every morning when I'm in the office before anyone else. I start my day checking for new TacticalBassin vids. Hands down the best channel on youtube.
Matt and Tim are awesome and very educational when it comes to fishing. I live in Canada, where it's a little different, but I've added most of the information into my fishing arsenal and it works. Roland Martin is my idol when it comes to bass fishing, he's a legend, but I watch you guys to know what to throw and when and even different techniques. Thanks for all the information, I've definitely become a better angler and more knowledgeable thanks to you and others on TH-cam. 🤘
Yesterday, as I fished and watched bass blow up on schooling shiners all day, I wondered when TB would upload an updated fall topwater video. Your seeming clairvoyance and impeccable timing never cease to amaze me. Incredible!
Just want to say man you give the best fishing advice on youtube hands down. Very detailed, when I watch one of your videos I dont have to find other videos for answers you cover it all man.
Great info Matt. I recently discovered the deep crank rod is awesome for my ploppers . I'm repurposeing one of my 6'10" jerk bait rods this week for poppers. 61 years old and still learning tricks from you and Tim. All the best to both of you and your families!
Matt you and Tim are truly blessed and being from SOUTHEAST Texas. I can't get enough of y'alls videos. I don't even put a line in the water until check and see what is new from month to month. May god continue to bless you and tim and y'alls families.

Really nice work on this. I don't think anybody else explains the why, where, and how on bass fishing techniques, season to season, as well as Matt. Thank you for this!
Man, you cover topics much more thoroughly than anyone else. I spent time this winter binge watching all of your videos to date, and it increased my fishing IQ soooo much (and my catch rate) Thanks again guys!
your videos are so good, man. I wish I had your knowledge of what / how to fish. I thought I knew so much until I showed up here. I appreciate the lessons on topwater, coach!
Very long but kept my interest the whole way. You are the master of bass educators and we are so lucky to have you and Tim 3 times a week. Saw the photo of you and Cece and she still is a beautiful woman, you are a very fortunate man and I am envious. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Perfect timing !!!! My lake has stripers blowing up on shad right now and this really helps. Love the chug bait, need the bigger one and it does call the fish over!!! Time to get out and put these baits to work! Thanks for the info, as always, best bass channel/information out there!!!!!
I can't wait to try these great tips tomorrow here in South Carolina! You guys ROCK! I COULDN'T AGREE MORE with all the positive comments on this post Forever grateful
Had an incredible evening last night fishing even though its still "the dog days" here in VA. Caught 21 fish in 2.5 hours, 9 being on the new berekely choppo. The topwater bite is still alive and well at the moment here in VA!
Great Video Matt! When I subscribed you were at 25,000. You'll be at 300,000 by the end of the year! CONGRATULATIONS You got me hooked on Swimbaits in Massachusetts. Having the best couple of years in my life! Don't comment to much because of how much you two blew up, but I still watch all your Videos. Slammers and big wakes have been my go too baits. Thanks again!!
Damn Matt! Your channel is by far the most informative channel not just on TH-cam but online in general. Thank you and thank Tim for all of the knowledge you give.
Matt you guys are incredible. This is without a doubt the best fishing resource out there. The way you share the information make it so easy to learn. Move from Vallejo to Martinsville IN a few years ago and I am trying to learn how to river fish for smallmouth. You ever do a video fishing for small’s on a river or creeks?
Hey! Thanks for the information. I live on the Mississippi and I've got access to a ton of backwater spots. But I've got no boat. I've been practicing my shoreline casting since June, and I'm going to get a nice pair of waders next. I'm very excited for Fall, I feel like I've been practicing for this all summer. I subscribed and I hit that bell. Keep the videos coming!
Excellent job matt,I can't wait to dive head frist into fall top water, thank you, to you and Tim, for tactical bassin, it's a great tool to improve your fishing, God bless you guys
Great information Matt, makes sense. I am in Colorado, ready for fall fishing for sure. Spring was great, summer sucked, top water in fall will be awesome. Thank you
I have to admit I’ve been living under a rock until I started watching your vids last fall I’m now using baits I never considered using with good success but the best part is technique how do you learn that stuff with out someone showing you I’ve been fishing for 55 years and since watching your vids I’ve learned more in the last year than in the last ten keep up the amazing work you do👍🏻
a whopper plopper with a heavily angled tail can also be used as more or less a kinda popper......while making that bloop noise it also walks itself with the slight jerk to the rod needed to make the lil bloop noise from the tail....makes a great bubble too
I’ve been having a hard time trying to get a bite on my whopper plopper 75 ugh. Landed a 21 inch Smallie Saturday though, over 4lbs but it was on a squarebill!! Biggest smallie I’ve seen in person ever
Your timing is impeccable as always. I just spotted some bass schooling up in the shallows chasing shad a couple days ago and was able to pick a few of them off with a WP. Can't wait to try some of the other things you guys talked about in this video!
Since I fish almost exclusively top water I was so relieved to see that I still can during the Wisconsin fall! Frogs are getting hit, but stoked to try something different. Thank you for this video! There goes another $75 bucks to TW.
Just started really getting into fishing this year and I have learned a lot from your videos! I appreciate all the time you take out to explain everything and the tips you give!
Here in DE summer grass starts dying about mid September, I use a fluke of swim jig over Topwater just because those fish have been seeing these baits since April/March around here. Not as fun but gets bit much better than Topwater in my opinion
This one will surprise you Matt but I just caught my PB on it and have been killing it here in Wisconsin over the past few weeks. Just out of curiosity I ordered some top water walking baits off of the Wish app. I was incredibly surprised by how well they walk and the amazing sound that they have. For me they have been a fish catching machine. I know it’s Wish but all you have to do is upgrade the split rings and hooks.
dang that is a lot of info!! I have been watching it over the last three days, taking notes. definitely going to have to come back and watch a couple times!!
Thanks for all the info👍🏻This is the channel I look forward for new content weekly, even though I fish saltwater mostly. Those Reds, Seatrout and Snook aren’t much different from a Bass.
Dobyns 736 cb glass is a monster whopper plopper setup with tatula sv just the perfect blend of power and forgiveness for the bigger ploppers glad matt said the bigger crank rods for them
Just a tip and my take on it, you can move the feathered treble to the front hook on your baits and get the same effect as the red hook. Either method is proven fact as Matt said. Crazy how it takes you from missing fish to hooking every single one.
I absolutely LOVE your instructional videos. I have learned so much, and caught so many more fish it's silly. I got 3 new baitcaster for Christmas. Including a new Abu Garcia and a new Lews. The AG came with 2 free lures. A j-walker and a popper. I ended up here trying to do homework in how best to use them. I should have started here. I've been subscribed for about 2 years, yet I didn't look here first. Sorry! Lesson learned!!! 😅🤣😂
Honestly a popper is one of my fav all around summer baits. Even in the heat if the fish are cruising up shallow I’ve thrown a popper, but I work it so every time I pop it I wait for the ripples to disappear, and I've gotten some huge fish despite the blazing sun. I also throw it on top of submerged tree cause the loud pop gets their attention then it sits there, then on the next pop they usually hit it
Add a bobber stop to the front of your walking baits with straight braid, and you won't need the mono leader anymore. I do this with all of my topwaters now and it keeps the line out of the buzzbait blade, the treble hooks, etc.
I know it’s a bit early but I had a nasty topwater bite on table rock last weekend. I was on a huge school of bass chasing shad. It was the most aggressive feeding I’ve ever seen 15 bass at a time would come up and explode in shad!
Y'all rock these videos are extremely helpful. Without anyone to ask or bounce ideas off of, you guys definitely make a successful fishing trip happen. 👌🤘👊
In depth! Clear thorough information on getting the bass bite on! Also, you gave good info for those of us who like panfish fry's with blue gill, thank you =)

You gotta try a 4.8 or 5.8 Keitech on a vmc drop dead keel weighted hook...awesome top water when there's still a bit of grass on top. Hold your rod tip up high. Nice subtle gurgle. Sometimes the fish want that over a more violent whopper kind of sound. Plus you have the option to drop it down and go deep or sub surface or any depth you want and then bring it back up and go tap water again. Truly versatile
Thank you for telling us the sizes of the baits ! Nothing is worse than wondering what size lure someone is using on TH-cam lol, great content as always thank you !
I’m smashing them on the megabass mega pop X and I mean smoken them. I tied on a chrome spook yesterday and had I giant large mouth on it he shook me off though I just ordered size 2 mustad triple grips for them the pop x has great hook haven’t missed one and there barbless but sharp as hell , great video
I have tried a lot of the new lures, but it's still hard to beat a HullaPopper, especially a black one at night. My other favorites for surface or very shallow fishing are a large Jitterbug and a frog U20 Flatfish. I fish pressured lakes, so most of the fish have seen spinnerbaits, crankbaits, plastic worms, etc.. over and over again. I'm certain the fish have never seen the three old lures I favor.
Yes it is perfect timing. I'm up in Jersey fall just starting and was about to get some lures for the fall this afternoon when you just posted so thank you

Being the kind of guy that never has enough tackle, these popper styled baits remain a mystery to me that temps the addiction to get ALL of them I don't have. :)
Today was my first day ever learning how to use a walking bait, was using a lucky craft gunfish ghost minnow...caught a 6pounder. After I figured out how to walk the lure I threw it into a ball of baitfish i seen from the bank, I was walking it n seen a big shadow chasing it and I was only about a few feet from the shore so I paused it the bass sat and looked at it...I gave it a twitch a boom she went airborne on it. So exciting, I cant wait to try some more walking baits
Hey bro I haven’t been living under a rock! I’ve been disabled the last 10 years. I had never heard of a whopper plopper until this video. Don’t be mean! Lol
So weird to me how u guys aren't at 1 million subs or atleast 500k. Best informative fishing channel ive come across.

Think you could do a couple videos on Florida bass fishing, you know are fish and weather is funky.
I was so hyped when I saw this video because yesterday I was looking for Fall/ Early Fall topwater tips
Good fall info Matt. 🎣
That binksy!! My favorite during the fall
Home lake is Clear Lake as well. But there’s no better season for topwater than summer!
Haven’t watched your videos in a while but I sure glad I did this time, thanks for the presentation!✌️
Hey bro I haven’t been living under a rock! I’ve been disabled the last 10 years.
I had never heard of a whopper plopper until this video. Don’t be mean! Lol
