You are so passionate about your animals. That is one reason I enjoy watching you so much. I had my granddaughter watch one of your videos today. She is 7 and loves snakes. I told I would be bringing her up to for a tour. She can't wait.

i think this is a very rad style of video, whether it's part of the overall pivot NERD is going thru or just something you're looking to do on top of the usual content. i come here primarily for Kevin's opinion/experience on things, so if the focus tightened down to just the things/creatures he was the most into, i would support that

Everything is so beautiful. I'm so impressed with the many different species that I never knew existed. I can imagine how exciting it must be when the eggs start hatching and you can see what color combinations you get. 😊😊

Several colubrids that we don't see very often. How about a rolling (stand/ playpen/ display) 3'w, 7' long, 6' tall? I think I could watch a Boelens python just climb for 20 minutes. Maybe without narration? Sometimes I just listen to TH-cam, not something I ever do with KM & NERD

Hi Kevin, been following you for 4 years now. Not sure if you remember meeting me in South Africa at the SOS Reptile Expo with Dingo? I was the guy with the beard, tattoos and the Code word was “Lions mating” after your game drive where you saw lions mating for the first time and uploaded it to Evilmorphgod 😂 so you knew it was me because I flew all the way from Durban to JHB just to meet you and DM’d you “like a little b!tch” and said “I’m flying up just to meet you and we had to talk!” . Anyway bro, Just a massive shoutout to you and your team. Watching you and these awesome videos with your incredible animals helps me keep pushing during these tough times in the industry. By far I consider you the top and most knowledgeable reptile breeder in the world. Huge respect bro!👊 I’m hoping to visit your facility in 2026 and purchase some really awesome ball pythons and Retics from you personally that will be unique to the industry in here in South Africa. Cheers bro, Carl, from Northcoast Constrictors

I'm loving the favorite picks, I'd love to meet these beautiful reptiles. The boelens pythons must be so beautifully iridescent in person. I absolutely love the monitors too, some of their behavior reminds me of the macaw I had. I'm loving all the variety and it was all fit into 15 minutes. Nice to see you got someone to film and edit, doing it all alone is a lot. Especially with all these platforms we use these days.
Oh and of course Mr. Crowley had to be in this video, he's my favorite of yours along with Snarfles. Do you happen remember how Crowley got his name?

Love the video. Variety is the spice of life. I love colubrids and geckos. So far I have five different types of geckos, mostly assorted New Caledonia geckos. For colubrids, I have western hognose, pacific gopher, and a Cali king snake. Colubrids are of a size that is easy for me to deal with, as I have neck, shoulder, and back issues. I also prefer their cost of food, over larger snakes. I learned something new today. I didn't know that you get a visual of T+ and T- at the same time.

Those are all just beautiful, Kevin! But just WOW!!! the Ivory Dog Tooth Boaga really did look like a glass snake!!!! that was so incredible seeing it's little heart and it's lung inflate & deflate, and you can't help but notice the arteries & vesicles' going from the heart to the brain the former anatomy student in me was screaming 'OMG! I CAN SEE THE MAJOR VIENNA CAVA!' lol...And you little monitors...gasp...both gorgeous, but the first one was my favorite!!! I'm just curious, I know you working on smaller and she is a smaller locality - is she still a sub adult/juvi or is she actually full size for her locality? I think the Keeled Rat snake was also a gorgeous snake, but I think it sound more like a about to get in a fight or in heat, lol...and I personally have really liked blood pythons ever since first seeing them- I think they have beautiful look and I like their thick short body, I guess I like a solid little snake I mean there's not a lot of them. as for their temperament, we haven't been keeping them as pets for a couple thousand years, we've been destroying their homes, hunting them for their skins or just destroying them out right just because they exist and we think they are creepy. They are only a few generations from wild if they aren't if they aren't wild caught and what they go through being wild caught is can be a horror show itself so yeah don't blame the animal at. but that doesn't mean the animals should be ignored or blamed for it... also, attitude doesn't stop people from getting green tree pythons... and they're just green( yeah, they're a really pretty green, but still...)... blood pythons are GORGOUS they are so much PRETTIER!!!! but that's just my humble opinion. They were all fantastic animals, Kevin, thank you for sharing them with us!!!!

    • @NewEnglandReptile
      @NewEnglandReptile  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yes, the Ivory is quite see through!!! The sumbawa is a sub adult. Thank uuu.

I don’t recall ever seeing you albino mangrove snake but it is sweet. I really like the project you are doing to make smaller monitors. So many get a water monitor but when it starts to grow large they can no longer handle it. Small monitors are cool. Dampier Peninsula monitor would be great for the average hobbyist reptile keeper. After yesterday’s video I will definitely see myself having a King rat snake, something about those scales. The natural beauty that we get from so many snakes. Have a great Easter Sunday and thanks for the great content. 🐍 🦎

Just amazing & awe inspiring group of snakes. I also just watched DM Exotics where Dan was talking about boiga cynodon morphs & then you pop up with some cool mutations of your own. Dan also had a transparent snake which in itself is so cool to see the internal anatomy of such a reptile. I have felt for a while now that as representatives of the reptile industry, it is our responsibility to make the experience better for keeper & kept. Therefore animals such as your insular dwarf water monitor project is the way forward. 30yrs ago I chose not to breed my Python (molurus) bivittatus for the primary reason to not burden 30-40 new reptile keepers with a giant snake. Now I have a trio of wild type dwarf Burmese pythons which I do not have the same concerns about their mature size, even for a first time snake owner who just wants one manageable snake. The industry pushes reptiles & it is brazenly made even more tantalising with the addition of mutations & combinations thereof. I think these are some of the issues which give credence to the animal rights when they see people with far more animals than they were intending to maintain. Most people get a dog, not 2.5 & breed for an array of colours. This is where we need to show our ethics are pure & that these are all factors taken into consideration before breeding any species or promoting others do so.

Hi Kevin, New data on the Emeralds. Bob Bledsoe of Green Room Pythons has been in the Amazon rainforest, studying and talking with natives. There is new evidence that their diet include arboreal rats which have thick fur and sheddable skin, and their long teeth counter these rodent adaptations. Interesting stuff.

Bob Bledsoe (Green Room Pythons) went to Surinam. They found Emeralds eating tree rats that have very, very thick skins. So they hypothesized that they may be a reason, along with birds, that their teeth are so long. Very interesting.

I follow you and Brian’s channel. TBH I am absolutely terrified of snakes and reptiles. I love to learn about them though. I have been following his channel for years. I found you last year. ❤

Can you see the meal inside your "see through" snake? It's so neat. Great video as always Kevin. ❤ from NH's lakes region.

I'm back and forth with either getting a tegu or a monitor, but if you can get a water monitor to a smaller size, that would be perfect! I don't mind waiting 😂
The coral one is gorgeous! ❤

I used to have a Savu python that had the absolute best disposition and ate like a boa. I hardly ever see them. That beautiful Papua python made me think of my old Savu.

These recent videos have been great! I like the relaxed vibe with Kevin just speaking his mind. You work with so many unique and incredible species. The first time I saw that albino mangrove my jaw hit the floor, glad it’s still doing well.
Do you still work with any drymarchon?
